Nice folks at McKendons!
Stephan PTruck bed was not clean - I reported this, and my input was respected. I returned the truck in the same condition, and this was not objected to. The fuel level was 1/4 - this was the first time in renting vehicles in over 40 years that I had seen a fuel level under 3/4 full.
Patrick ALoved it. Staff was helpful. Pickup and drop off were quick and professional. This is my new spot to rent a truck when needed.
COOPER BI had an open-ended contract that allowed me to drop off a trailer any place in Renton and this was nice and close. The customer service agent was very nice but it took me quite a while to drop off the trailer and then apparently they didn't check the trailer in until the next day and so I received a couple of calls directly from U-Haul asking about it. I ended up having to go back to the location to make sure everything was taken care of correctly.

chisula cThe van reeked of smoke and the gas tank was supposed to be full but was on 1/2 tank. At checkout I had to spend time making sure that was fixed, and then I was charged for the optional insurance even though I opted out of it when I made the reservation.

Joseph SI have gas the van well above 1/16 of the tank. This is not the first time UHaul has robbed me for gas. I need a refund for the gas. Also I was charged for 25 hours when I only had it for three hours. Stop ripping off your customers!
vivian cThe vehicle was so dirty and the smell coming from the vents when the A/C was on, it was unbearable. We had to shut it off and run windows down on the highway. The van also appeared to be almost 3,000 miles overdue for its oil change.

Carl MPicking up the truck was simple and efficient. McLendon's had a large inventory, but I was amazed at how many units were checked out when I returned the vehicle 4 hours later. It was an unplanned move but I was able to make a reservation 1-1/2 hours before I needed it. The had the best hours of service that met my requirements. All of the other rental places near me would have made me wait 12 hours before I could pick up the truck that I needed. The process of returning was fast and easy. And every employee that I encountered was very polite and made sure that they cared about taking care of me. I would highly recommend using this facility for all of your U-Haul needs.

If there had been ANY other rental van available elsewhere on the day, I would have used it. We didn't drive 150 miles, but that's what I got charged. I was shocked. What a racket. The person who rented the truck to me at the store was kind and helpful. Rent at your own financial risk. Gauging appears to be their business model.

Thomas H1. As I'm renting the truck, the clerk informs me that it is on E (empty). The whole time, I'm concerned if there is enough gas to get me to the gas station across the street. I know that I'm only going 10 - 12 miles max so I put 2 gallons in. The damn thing was still on E (empty). Not knowing MPG, that had to be the most stressful rental I've ever had. When I returned the truck, I mentioned to the manager, "Maybe y'all should put it to 1/4 tank for piece of mind so that folks can buy gas at the end of the trip." His response, "They won't let us... pointing to the paperwork". 2. There was a homeless person in the cargo space of the 10' truck. I couldn't open it during my walk around, but as soon as I started, I heard a banging noise. He hopped out after a few seconds and went about his way. I stopped at the front of the store to tell them about the experience, the clerk says "Again???? A few weeks ago three people hopped out." I suggested that maybe they lock them at night (cargo area), but management said no. 3. I declined Safe Move on my online reservation; however, when I received my bill - I was charged the fee. I'll be going to the store to have the charge removed. The hell???? Won't be renting from that location again.

thomas tIt took about 40 minutes to get through the rental process. The first vehicle provided had a broken handle and then had to wait some more time for the replacement. I have not got the finalized bill even after returning the keys in the morning.

Jonathan MU-haul completed f'd me a couple days before a big move. They changed my pickup location and added over two hours to my packing day. They made me pickup a truck at one location and then pick up the auto transport at a location south of the city. My pickup that would have taken me about 20-30 minutes turned into a 2.5 hour ordeal due the distances that had to be traveled. Absolutely unacceptable but what was I supposed to do? To clarify I booked the truck and auto transport a month in advance, nothing last minute except for their 4 calls to me two days before we were supposed to start packing.

Pamela CNothing against the location - its the vandalizing that makes it somewhere i won't rent from. The first time it took 40 mins to find a truck that had a battery in it and then this time i was stranded at a gas station because the gas pipe was cut. Then "roadside assistance" "fixed" it for me.... they wrapped cardboard around pipe and added a tie to it.... it still leaked. I have pictures to prove it. the location was appalled with the pictures as well.

Melissa WI turned in the u-haul with 1/2 fuel tank which was how I received it. I informed the staff member of this and he stated that unless I took a picture to prove I received it at 1/2 tank, I would be charged $6 per gallon to fill it. I acknowledged and agreed since I did not take a picture. U-haul then proceeded to charge me for an entire tank (37 gal) and marked my statement as having turned ot in on empty. I received the final "statement" within minutes of leaving the McClendon store. My father and I were still sitting in our car next to the U-haul researching directions when I received the statement email, at which point the McClendon staff had never come out to check the fuel level on the u-haul before overcharging me for an entire tank. I will never use u-haul or McClendon hardware again and will be sure to inform my friends and family of their conduct.
