Location was perfect! The process of online pickup was AWFUL!!! I am a computer geek and I had a hard time getting started. Had to eventually call for help. Once started, it was fine, though the woman on the telephone had to do a lot to fix the reservation so that we could use the app. Awful!sandy B.

Hello, While the location itself was fine, the no in-person option is terrible and in need of vast improvements. Hopefully Uhaul is aware of it and working out the kinks. Here is a review I am posting to make sure others are warned about the new UHual Truck Share 24/7. ALERT! DON'T USE THE TRUCK SHARE 24/7 THAT Uhaul NOW OFFERS! My husband and I moved this past Friday and had a terrible experience with this new online-only service (nobody in person to assist with process). Both pick up and drop off went poorly. The pick up took almost an hour and only a small part of it was due to user error. Uhaul needs to work out a lot of kinks in their coding, how they present questions and directions on the app and browser options, and additional training is needed for their customer service help line before this is a viable service for the general public. Be prepared to start and end your move with a lot of frustration if you do go this "convenient" route!Diane D.
I requested additional equipment and was charged, but none of the requested equipment was in the truck. This made things much more difficult on the day of the move. Picking up the truck, returning it, and driving was relatively easy.Katherine C.

There was no warning that this was an unmanned location. No wifi and I do not have unlimited data. It took us 40 MINUTES to figure out how to check in and get the truck and do all the set up to get the keys. No email for or instructions for drop off, I had to google it. This is the worst contactless set up of any company I have used. IT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!James T.

The UHaul phone operator provided false information saying there are no wheel wells obstructing the bed of the 10 foot truck. Luckily we verified it ourselves and changed our reservation to the 15 foot truck. (This had nothing to do with Maynard store.)Henry P.

The mobile pickup process waiting for an agent to approve you took way too long about 30 min for us. Another group who was there in the morning picking up a rental had the same issue. I would recommend you change this by allowing mobile users to preload thier drivers license pictures so an agent can extrapolate the date to pre approve you before the actual pickup. Then you just need to verify your location, mileage and picture associated with that and you are no your way. The return process was straight forward and took us less then 10 minutes.Bill G.
When I reserved the cargo van, I chose the in-person option, but when I arrived, there was no one there and I was expected to use the UHaul app. I then had to download the app, re-submit pics of my license that I had already submitted and then wait at least 10 minutes while my reservation was approved. It was a long process in the boiling sun. I was also given an estimate of $108 and then got charged $137 even though I was early returning my van and I went 199 of the 200 miles that I said I was going. On top of that were taxes, etc which I expected. That said, the van was very clean and ran very well.Marjorie N.

Our original pick up location was different, but although we had a reservation from 3 weeks in advance, There was no vehicle ready for us! so after around 1h of discussion, they sent us to a new location that was around 40 min far from where we were. The situation negatively affected our moving plans and we barely were able to make our moving happen with a rush! I am still waiting for U-haul representatives to reach out to me and see how they want to accommodate all of our time, energy, and costs as a result of the mistake made by their representatives.Armin V.

Cellular service at this location is terrible. The u-haul app timed out and restarted many times during Pick-Up and Drop-Off. This hands-off process is terrible with no one on site to help when there are problems. The truck was fine. I will be looking for other renting alternatives because this was a terrible experience.TITUS K.

Your online process is horrible and doesn't work. I spent more time with customer than I did in college. Another customer at the same location had horrible experience and never got his truck.. I will never recommend Uhaul.shelly H.

I had a terrible rental experience. So many things went wrong that are easily avoidable. The Truck Share app simply doesnt work.....fix it or get rid of it.John M.
I included furniture pads in my order, which were not in the truck when I picked it up. There was nobody in the UHaul office (even though the web site says it was open 7:00 - 11:00 that day) so I had to call the 1-800 UHaul number. Three people and 30 minutes later, a person finally told me that I had to drive to a different UHaul to get the pads, which was 10 miles in the opposite direction. This mistake on UHaul's part cost me some very valuable time and if anything, you should at least credit me the rental cost of the pads.John B.
I was told via email that I would be contacted within 24 hours to confirm appt time and availabilty, but I was not. That left me wondering whether I had an appt. or not. I tried calling for over an hour with no answer and no way to leave a message. I went anyway an hour late to find truck was available but office was closed due to covid19. Thats understandable for small office, but I bought 2 mattress bags and had no way to receive them. We had to go to another uhaul office and purchase two more. Furthermore there were scratches on the trunk and the app would not let us take pictures of it. Overall the rest of the process was ok and we completed the move without any issue. A little communication goes along way and even with covid19 there is no excuse for not calling as per your process and no excuse for having no answering service to help resolve issues during your posted open hours.Thomas B.
Your mobile authorization needs a lot of work. 30 min to authorize. Very poor experience. Also, no blankets were put in truck. But you charged me for $10. No way to back it out or relay this deficiency. Guess I have to pay this time. Not good.John V.
My pick up was scheduled for 10:45 am /counter pick up. This location closed for the day at 11 am so I arrived @ 10:30 not to detain them from closing on time. The man at the counter would not let us in the store due to covid-19, yelled thru the glass "download the app and go thru your phone".That wasn't possible!!!! The man lent no help, closed the shop at 11 am,and left us without the use of the truck!! I had to get a third person with a phone that could do the app , call uhaul, and at 1:16 finally got a code to unlock truck!!! 3 HOURS TO GET THE TRUCK FROM PICK UP LOCATION!!!!! This was unacceptable, I was unable to complete my move! I returned the truck at 5:30 pm at uhaul's request 17 miles from closest drop off for a discount and extra free mileage. My drop off didn't go much better than pick up other than it was quick, 20 minutes. So overall this whloe day was a complete waste of my time and money, I'm a very unhappy customer.brian Z.

For after hours drop off, there should be a jack to assist unhooking the trailer of the hitch, it's so hard to unhook it because the parking lot is somehow steep.Victor A.

I didn't have the app set up so I registered with the staff at the site who were excellent. I will go back because of them. Would be good to tell customers to download app and get started before they get there since it took a long time. And let customers know to take a picture of their mileage when they are done ahead of time. Overall, excellent experience. Vehicle worked all and was perfect size for my needs.Dianne P.

The vehicle was fine, the location is a garage, not a Uhaul, but the mobile app was a huge dissapointmet as I had to type info into it when I arrived, outside, in 14 degree weather and then after standing in the cold for 10 minutes waiting for approval I had to go inside and have it done manually anyway - which I could have done anyway.Douglas E.

Charged $15 for 3 of the 12 blankets I returned were not folded. Never said they would do that and I assumed they would check them before repacking them anyway (Which I am sure they do, what if they were ripped and folder?). Also, other thing I was not told, when returning after hours, you must return online while you are on site. I returned early but system prompted that trailer was due the next morning. That is when I learned I should have returned online.Allen W.
