I've rented twice from this location. They have very limited store hours and one person to handle the customers. I came in the day before my rental to make sure they didn't need anything. There was no one there and we could have completed everything for the following morning. Instead, I was sent away and the following morning the woman handling the rentals asked me who i was and if I had a reservation. I was just there the previous afternoon. Additionally, I've checked in on the app but they still require seeing and photographing my license (even though it's uploaded) and emergency contact information (again, uploaded in the app). I would prefer an experience similar to when I rent a car where I've pre-checked in on their app, where my key is ready and I can get on the road immediately. One last thing... the windshield was filthy with smashed bugs and I had to stop and clean it at a gas station before getting on the road. I've rented from UHaul many times over the years and in different locations. This is by far the least customer friendly.

Initial billing reflected a ~$240.00 overcharge. This was corrected and credit was issued in timely manner but the shock of incorrect billing leaves a bad taste in my mouth over the whole deal. All apologies over this overt mistake were issued and sincere but the shock wore me out.

No problems with after hours drop off. The place was easy to access with visible signs of where things go, and if they are open or closed on the inside to assist you.

Appliance dolly was not there when I checked in. Had to contact another location to get one. Once walked into truck 2 of my family members immediately fell because the truck floor was covered in grease that u could not see. Very poor rental from this location and I use U-Haul Regulary.

Friendly but did not offer to help me unhitch trailer. I’m 5’2” and 66 years old. First time towing a trailer & never had unhitched one before. Able to manage but was a bit surprised & disappointed. ESP after driving 4 hrs.

I got email confirmation and spoke to someone on the phone earlier in the week to confirm. When I showed up the truck I was supposed to get was broken down and they only had smaller trucks available. Ended up paying double what I expected because I had to make double the trips and it took twice the amount of time causing us to delay our moving. I understand unexpected things happen but a phone call when the truck broke down would have allowed us to arrange going to bother location for a bigger truck. I called multiple times and there was never an offer to discount some of the mileage or the second day that was only necessary due to the truck we reserved not being available and at that point having no other option than to pick up a smaller truck. Will not use again and will caution others to not use either.

Upon calling I was given one quote then when I arrived I was given a totally different quote. After returning the truck not only on time but even earlier than what I told them, they over charged me from the beginning quote. Not to mention the ovation was dirty and staff were not friendly, I was just a dollar sign to them.

There was some mud on the outside running boards and fenders of the trailer. A simple hosing would have done the trick. That mud managed to wash up onto the Trike I was transporting during some minor rain showers. No big deal, just a detail worth noting.

Having to get my truck with the phone app took 55 minutes. A terrible way to pick up a rental!! I will never ever use your service again. I contacted the area rep to return the truck to a live agent. I was directed to a location 20 miles away. The agent ( over phone) said he would not accept the return, that I hade to drive it back to Seneca! I told him I was going to leave the truck there no matter what he said. It was only after this that he started the return. This was at FairPlay sc

We had to wait in a very long line wasting time for the key of the truck even though we were doing the no contact at the counter thing where you just do everything in the phone. Since we had to do the very long line it would’ve been just common sense to check the equipment with us (no) they guy just opened the back door of the truck and laid down a dolly and that was it. Me and my husband walked around the truck to check for damages and also checked the mileage and gas. Also the return was a nightmare, we returned the truck and dolly the same day (Saturday 8/6/2022) at around 4pm, followed instructions and left the keys in the key drop off box. Still the next day I’m receiving calls from uhaul stating that we didn’t return the truck. We had to drive back to the truck location to verify what had happened, since neither uhaul nor the truck location were picking up the phone. We encounter that they had a personal emergency and had to close the office early that day because they left a note at the front door (which I also have a pic of) Which cause all this BS. Next day they are trying to charge my bank card another 73 dollars because of damage or lost items. JESUS !!! I have pictures with date and time that proves the time we returned the truck and the dolly and also pics of the truck itself parked back at the spot we returned it along with pics of the gas tank level and mileage. The truck has NO DAMAGE and we returned the DOLLY only item that we rented along with the truck. We cannot recommend this place to anyone. It would’ve have been better to receive a call explaining this but no, just a voice mail saying something about a truck not returned. We got very scared and called and called back but nobody answered. We called the place and also uhaul even tried chat online but didn’t worked as they left me waiting and waiting without a reply for over 20 minutes. This is very unprofessional and have never happened to us renting from uhaul for so many years. The only helpful person was Mayra when I called yesterday and after listening to the situation she explained the process to follow. I apologize for the rant but needed to be said. I reserved a 20' truck at a u haul location one mile from my home. When I received a confirmation text - my pick up was scheduled for a location an hour away. I had to downside the truck so that I could still move. Now I have to make a second trip. I am beyond disappointed in the service I received. After changing my reservation to a 15 ft truck when I arrived my reservation had been cancelled. I had to give my information again at the counter when I arrived.

Second time I used the Albemarle, NC, (24/27) location and the Port Orange, FL, (Herbert St). Very Easy to work with and friendly staff.

Equipment was unsafe to drive, then we get charged for dropping after hours when we are told we can. Then we get charged for gas when we dropped it with more gas than we got it with. Then we get charged a cleaning fee when it was spotless when we returned it. We will never deal with uhaul again.

This rating is based on your app based vehicle rental process, this is not reflective of the local store owner. Your app is horrible. I'm waiting for a member of your leadership team to call me as the manager who called me yesterday was confrontational and blamed the experience on me. Based on my experience I will never rent from U-Haul again and will not recommend my friends or family do so either. Awaiting your call.

I felt a little uneasy driving through the unfamiliar location to drop-off with only verbal directions, i.e. without a guide. It was a busy time...

The local 6-x12 trailers are not as good as the one-way trailers. They are not as heavy and the flip latch is not as good as the screw down latch for the hitch. Also, a sliding door is at risk of getting stuck, opening doors is much better.

First of all I paid for the pads and the dolly only to find out they never put them in the truck . The truck was dirty from the previous use and then charged me 100 for 6 hours when I only drove not even 6 miles the entire day . Remind you the office was closed so I had to keep calling customer service which the people were rude as hell . Will never rent another u haul from albemarle period .

The reservation website was unable to find my drop off point, even though I gave the full name and address. It insisted on choosing a drop off point in a different city, and even when a customer rep finally found a drop off point in my city -- it still wasn't the correct one. Clearly your database of U-Haul dealers needs to be updated.
