This U-HAUL Agent confirmed to both me and my movers that my two containers would be ready for pickup on Monday at 2 pm. When my movers arrived at the facility however, they found it locked and the Agent unreachable by phone; apparently he closes the facility at noon on Mondays. No one can explain the snafu, and regardless, my the move had to be rescheduled for the next day. When my movers went to the facility on Tuesday, they witnessed the Agent having difficulty maneuvering his forklift: one of the forklift tines actually pierced through the wooden U-HAUL pod, and caused significant damage to my furniture stored within. Consider me one unhappy customer, especially because of the inexcusable damage to my goods. I will never use U-HAUL again.

Trucks are parked in trees, hard to check if the items you requested are there. I requested an appliance dolly. Had to go back 3 hours later, after they opened to get it. District manager said he would compensate me, he lied. I did not use the utility dolly that was wasting my space. They charged me for it, even though I did not break the seal.

Internet issues upon check in required a 38 minute lag time for the paperwork to be completed. Truck was not filled up when I got in it so I returned it with slightly more than was in it upon pick up. Key fob was broken and I was told to “put some tape on it + you might lose it” vs the issue being handles in house. Several times the key remained in the ignition lock vs being able to be pulled out because it kept coming off the fob.

I was told that I could turn my truck in at any location by both the place I was scheduled to turn it in and where I wanted to turn it in but no one told me I needed to reschedule my location. So I had about a 20-30 minute wait on hold before I could get someone to help check the truck in after hours. I would think that someone at either of those two locations would’ve told me that I need to get my check in location changed in order to turn it in and save me all that aggravation.

The whole process needs to be reworked. We were not clearly notified that there was a 2000 lb limit in the containers. We had to pay more money for the moving help to separate our box into 2. The increased shipping charge for one more container is outrageous. The guy was complaining about not getting paid due to the way we set up our boxes. We never received a call when our boxes arrived. I wasn't even sure where they went until I got a bill for another months rent. Then we get the boxes delivered and they request, due to their schedule, if the boxes could be picked up on a certain day. Which also happened to be the day we got charged for another month of rent on the second box. I will never use uhaul again.

Several issues we had included scheduling online to pick up 7am but the reservation entering as noon. I called in immediately and had it changed in the system only to find out the day before the 800 rep failed to change it. Then the day before I called several times to confirm everything. I believe the issue is more on U-Haul and not on the location, but when we went to pick up our U-Haul Saturday morning at 7am (after i verifies numerous times the day before that we were god to pick up at 7am) when we arrived and attempted to pick up our vehicle through the app we received an error message that said a vehicle had not been assigned to our reservation. It gave me a number to call to reach a gentleman named Godfrey. He asked if I had called the actual location to set up the rental and I advised I had completed it online and then verified and added a day through the 800 number. Godfrey advised I should have called the 800 number as no vehicle had been assigned. It took over 40 minutes to rectify and the 24-7 app never worked as the franchise owner never put the keys in the box. He answered the door ticked off saying U-Haul never notified him of the reservation and bad mouthing corporate while Godfrey was bad mouthing the franchise owner. The whole thing was less than professional and put us 40 minutes behind as we had people arriving to help us move. A disappointing transaction to say the least

This location was excellent, but it was the fourth location they sent me to get my reserved and guaranteed truck, on the morning I was supposed to pick up. The whole experience with U-Haul was TERRIBLE! Everyone except the dealer at Master Performance Cycles showed little to no consideration or concern for my dilemma, which they were responsible for creating. The local dealers were curt, and the online Customer Service agent was very rude. I am very dissatisfied.

I would recommend only because it is close if you are on this end of williamsburg/light foot. But the guy renting the equipment is not very nice. I’ve used several times bc I live close but I would never send my wife or go out of my way to recommend. It is just convenient but I never enjoy going there

The truck itself was disappointing, because it was so old and creaky. The location was too far from where we live to be convenient. We had to drive much farther than if the truck had been at the u-haul location I requested, near our house. I would have no problem recommending the location to someone who lived in that direction.

U-haul lied to me from the start, first they said three days, then the first excuse, the weekend came, and I called and more excuse’s. I kept calling for a week and a half, then I was accused of having a previous rental that I never had with demands for payment. It was some deadbeat guy I never heard of. I told U-haul that this was my first time using U-haul and that it would be my last time. None of them were on the same page when I spoke to them on the phone. What a horrible company, I will never use them again, then they offer me a staggering twenty-five dolor gift certificate for my trouble. What an insult, almost two weeks later I finally get my stuff, holding up my art supply’s cost me with my gallery and no restitution to speak of. I’m going to pass the word on U-haul you can be sure of that.
