Immediately after I put $75 gas in the tank, the check engine light came on. I was told it was ok and to drive it anyway and to call uhaul if it broke down (I was travelling on I95) They offered a different truck which had no gas in it but would not reimburse the $75 I had just put in the first truck. Finally came to a resolution but it was absolutely ridiculous.

CRAIG HARGROVETruck was old dirty , check engine light on . Only 1/8th tank gas. Person at counter was ok but not exactly welcoming or friendly. Typical gas station Uhaul location , wade your way through all the vape and tobacco paraphernalia to get to the counter. But the truck got the job done !!

They told me it was my fault that I didn’t double check miles before leaving and they refused to reimburse me when it was obvious I didn’t travel the distance they indicated based on pick/return time, and gas tank documentation They weren’t helpful and seemed unwilling to help me through this mistake they created. Terrible customer service

Lynn BacharachTruck driver’s seat was slanted, tire pressure gauge was on alert, driver’s door molding loose and door would not close properly. The price was $280 for a six hour rental and 181 miles. I will try another vendor next time.,
VINCENT WROBLEWKSII believe I was unfairly treated at the Margate Marathon gas station when renting a cargo van. The agent initially quoted a 4-hour rental at $91, assuring me there were no mileage limitations. However, my final charge was unexpectedly $150. Additionally, upon returning the van, I encountered a lack of parking space and was forced to leave the vehicle in front of a gas pump. After informing the store agent and returning the key, as instructed, I was later surprised to find an additional $20 convenience fee on my bill. This incident marks my first negative experience with U-Haul, contrasting with my previous satisfactory uses of your service. I request a review of these extra charges and a possible refund.

I refilled the vehicle to the designated tank level (5/16) after I was done and the worker stated that he was going to charge me $30 extra dollars to fill it up even when I showed him the tank, the receipt from the same gas station, and the level inside the vehicle. I am beyond angry and am never going to rent a uhaul because if this is how the business is run, I don’t want a part of it. After I had already paid $60 to rent the truck and $10 in gas he wants to charge me and extra $30 when I have documentation that I did it correctly and by the contract. Yikes

Greg MuthI live in Boston, Mass, and rent a Van in Towson, MD. Once in Towson, it took me three hours to rent the Van because the U-Haul was in an infinite loop. Therefore I was sent to another location in Lutherville for the Van. The person was nice and very helpful. The problem was they did not have a dolly. Therefore the Towson location is Poor and Lutherville Excellent therefore grade is Average.

Kelsey HornerI rented a van for 24 hours. When I arrived, admittedly about 1/2 an hour late, even though the van was sitting on the lot, I was told that the van was not available for me. Because I was late, it had been rented to someone else. Thankfully I was comfortable driving a truck because that’s what they gave me. They would not adjust the rental period to begin at the actual time I got the truck, which changed a 24 hour rental to a rental of 23 hours. Did it work out in the end? Yes. Was it a hassle and inconvenience? Also yes.

Nicholas MacechkoThe rented van was fine. The owner of the Uhaul location ripped me off. Refused to provide the preordered and prepaid boxes, furniture covers, and tape. Claimed his location did not do that and that he did not have those items in stock. What he meant was those items were in stock just marked up. He was also extremely unhelpful in cancelling the preordered items suggesting I call U-Haul rather than him take any proactive step to help me. So I ended up paying MORE for fewer of the preordered items due to his markups.

Richard WilsonTo start, I I was in an emergency situation due to another rental company. Confirming they had a vehicle and then not having it the day of the confirmation. I went to this location and the attendant told me they had no trucks to rent. I go online and I am able to rent a truck from that very location and walk in and get keys from the same attendant within five minutes. When I go to use the truck, I find that the windshield washer nozzles are pointed away from the windshield. I couldn’t use those at all. I was happy that I was able to get my move done, but the experience could’ve been much better.
