Internet was so slow and was unable to run my credit card through for purchase, had to call the 1-800 number to process my order. It took over 30 mins to pick up my truck and I was the only person in the store. My friend who drove me to pick up the truck had to unhook the car tow from the back of the truck and park it in the yard because the there was no one to do it. It would have taken close to an hour if this hadn't happened.Amanda I.

I booked a car trailer in Calgary. I got a call the next day to say they didn't have one in the whole of Alberta meanwhile I am on the ferry from Vancouver island going to Calgary to collect it to transport a classic car. ! They were not helpful and told me to call the Richmond office who transferred me to the Surrey office, I asked them to find me one as close to Alberta as possible and Victoria was helpful and found one at this location. I arrived at 8.00 am, the time they open and was greeted by Patricia who was very pleasant, friendly and efficient. I read other reviews who say they had to wait because of slow internet connection, well this place is in the middle of nowhere, literally so I am not surprised and certainly the fault of the service providers not the owners of this business. The internet did not work whilst I was there as well but Patricia took my details and sent me on my way within 15 minutes, the paperwork was emailed to me later that day. I call that excellent service and with smiles both ways. For impatient, demanding, inconsiderate folks don't rent, stay at home and the whole world will be happier place.NIGEL S.

Unfolded blankets left in back of truck. Actual gas level was 1/4 of a tank lower than what was on the contract. Truck was not ready for me even though I rented online. Had to dig the truck out of the snow and clear the roof off myself. Took over an hour to rent the truck due to slow computer system.Kyle H.

Didn't have moving pads. No tie downs and lock to add to package. Internet was extremely slow and took a long time to do order even though 90% was done online before. No one showed us where truck was parked. Misdirected and wasted time looking for it.Barbara M.

This location had no furniture blankets or dollies. And no chance to upgrade to bigger trailer as Calgary Uhaul grabbed several of them without any notice. Huge inconvenience. Uhaul needs to have more trailers available at the end of the months when people move. Customer service was great!!!Tina S.

The actual vendor was fine but navigating the U-Haul system was VERY problematic - not able to pick up using smart phone; needed to provide info to agent that was already entered when making on-line reservation; agent had difficulty connecting to U-Haul system so wait time was long with many customers waiting. Actual agent went above & beyond to straighten out invoice & that was appreciated. We are geographically isolated so it is the only agent for miles.KRISTAL B.

The trailer I rented had not been on the road in many months. It took a pipe wrench to loosen the coupler. That would have been fine however the wrench ripped the steel knob which left cuts in my hand. I think a quick check before giving me the trailer would have been a smoother experience. The inside of the trailer was full of winter road grit.ROBERT W.

The women in the supermarket/uhaul retail location was very understanding and helpful. Took no time to check-in the truck and organize my refunds for the poor service received on the pickup. Very easy interaction, this is why HUMAN checkins are needed!Jon W.
No service to vehicles, no walk around to point out if there were any defects. Getting grumpy because first vehicle had bald tires on rear. Second vehicle had burnt out head light. Mal-mart should not be in operation of uhaul. Multiple people passing the buck. I am a commercial truck driver and was not 100% satisfied with the pick up. I have rented cars before had awesome customer service. and a uhaul trailer in dec and was not happy. No one was around when I went to drop trailer off, the trailer leaked, my bed got wet. And i got charged a fee for what ever it was. The U-haul drop was great. The general man walked around the vehicle, I informed him that Mal-mart uhaul did no such thing no one inspected or removed snow. Point out the bald tires get told none of the vehicles have snow tires. So check up with local insurance places. ICBC WINTER TIRE ALLOWENCES. Tires can not just have M+S on tires they must also have a triangle with snow flakes in the triangle. Look it up. BC mountain passes are treturious and need snow tires and chains, or insurance may be void if accident. This is probably going to get tossed in the circle file but I am reporting that some of the vehicles are not really kept. I mean Mal-mart uhaul should be looked at. Send a person and rent a truck. Friendly staff though they had no idea how to work the computer system. Took over an hour and we were the only customers. Trailer was not ready for us - I had to dig it out of the snow and chip it out of the ice, hook it up, check for damage, etc. while they tried to figure out the computer system. They didn't even look at it before we drove away. We kindly recommended to them they get a knowledgeable UHaul representative to visit and teach them the entire process because they had no idea and were very stressed about the entire transaction. Very poor experience - decided this is the last UHaul experience for us and will be better off purchasing a used trailer.Steele W.

Make sure the pick up location records the correct mileage. Thank god I took a picture of mileage when picking up unit and didn't trust employee to make the change on system as he said he would. Received a 350+ bill for extra mileage.Michelle M.

Fantastic experience. This location had questionable reviews, so was hesitant with what to expect. I called to reserve the UHaul and was assured I'd have my vehicle the day I needed it. Sure enough, arrived to a seamless check-in process and picked up my vehicle as promised. Given that I was coming from Revelstoke, I was even given an extra 60 KM free of charge, as I had to drive back to Revelstoke to get my belongings. Overall, fantastic experience with no complaints. It was atrocious! Once at Malakwa. The m anager called the number given & the man answering at your office told her that I can't leave the trailer at Malakwa unless I pay 100$ or I can go to Sorrento ...so unbelievavle ..because I paid everything in Richmond to go to Revelstoke nad drive back to Malakwa after unloading to return the trailer.. Really inacceptable, but after defending that my contract was already paid and done..the man allowed the manager of Malakwa to take tthe trailer back. I am still very upset about this stressful experience and felt abused & overwhelmed!!!! This is one of your customer that rent everything from UHaul : truck, boxex, trailers...etc... and never had this UHaul management error thrown in his face'CAROLLE marie li C.

My overall experience was horrible not with this particular location but with the booking. I requested to pick it up in a certain location then just prior to picking it up representative phone and stated I had to travel 2.5 hours to pick trailer up. Uhaul itself gets a low rating . I reserved for kamloops and had to drive 4 hours out of my way to pick up the rental . After talking to the rep on the phone I was left with a 50.00 rebate which was never applied. And he was very rude telling me he could drive a 23 ton truck across BC on fifty dollars worth in gas. It's hard living in Revelstoke and having to rent a uhaul from 60kms away just to do an in town move. Something that almost cost me over $300.00 for rental plus fuel. I dont believe it's fair as I know many revelstoke residents need to use a uhaul and we have to spend an arm and a leg to use a uhal from Malakwa. That being said, Krystal that works at the Malmar was a pleasure to work with. She assisted me with any questions or concerns I had. She is still learning all the tricks of the job but she does a great job.Cassidi M.

When i went in the lady working was on the phone, and told me i â€œwould just have to waitâ€ because she was on the phone trying to figure out an internet issue. She then told me to park the trailer in a place which would block the dumpster access, the parking lot was about 8 inches deep of water and slush, and I de-hitched the trailer myself with no offer of help.Daniel R.
