The staff were rude, they didn't have any knowledge about the process for checking in and could not answer my questions about damage to the vehicle. There was no where to leave my vehicle during my short rental (8 hours). It's difficult to access the location of coming north along North road. Did I mention that the staff were rude? Vehicle was dusty outside and dirty inside on pickup. Representative asked to wait while he washed the dust off the windshield so I could see. That seemed to be the extent of the cleaning. Steering wheel felt "sticky". Not acceptable during the Covid 19 pandemic. Business premises were also below standard in cleanliness and appearance. Not a good first impression for U Haul. Roadworks in front of the business had blocked access to the pick up location. No signage posted saying how to access the location. Spent about 10 minutes trying to find a vehicle access point. Finally had my wife drop me off two blocks away to allow me to walk, escorted by construction workers, to get access to the pick up location.JOHN M.

I had the mobile pick up and went there at 7:30am for my reservation. Then it said that I have to wait till 10 and go to the front counter in order to get my truck. There's no truck ready in the lot. I called the uhaul hotline and was put on hold for the longest time. Luckily the shop owner was there early and helped fix the mistake they made. That was 9am. 1.5 hours after my reservation start. I received no compensation whatsoever.MICHAEL T.

The prople on site didn try to help with anything even though they saw me there over an hour trying to pick up my truck. I called earlier to say that I had to get ther 1 hour later and they said that this wouldnt be a problem. After more than one hour outside i finally get to talk with uhual by phone and they were able to help me out. There s a grocery that i already rented and they were amazing. It was quite surprising to be treated like that.PEDRO C.
I would recommend this place ONLY because of the convenience. The customer service was awful. The rep didn't know why I was calling despite mentioning U-Haul. Interrupted me (several times) to say call Uhaul when I was confirming my rental. Eventually he looked at the appointments and asked for my name and it all seemed to click. Didnt have the answers to what seemed like FAQs. When I came to pick up the truck his demeanor was the same. Later, in what could only be interpreted as an attempt to make small chat he became overly inquisitive about my move, house, and relationship. Overall I was super annoyed and then uncomfortable. The website was also not great. I forgot my password to my account, which was the only way (so it appeared) to confirm my rental. When I asked to reset my password I never recieved an email to reset it. I used my phone # and email several times each and nothing. Not in my inbox of spam folders. I then spoke to a U-Haul rep who helped with 1 thing but then had no interest in any feedback in the website or customer experience. Overall it required an unnecessary amount of patience and customer effort. Extremely displeased with the customer rep at Lubeking.Lisa W.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The vehicle was not clean. Sticky coffee was in the cup holder, I put my car and house keys in it and they got really dirty. I needed the truck for 2 days but the Local Uhaul team in the area was putting a lot of pressure on me to return the truck earlier. I called the Uhaul main center and the lady who answered my call was very helpful. I have been using Uhaul dating back over 20 years ago and I have always been very happy with the service. The most memorable was when I was immigrating from the US to Canada in 2004, I rented a one way trip from Seattle to Vancouver BC, my son was very little at the time and we enjoyed the ride.Alhagie S.

Received the truck late because the previous user returned the truck late according to the person at the front desk. It was my first time renting the truck and equipment and did not know how everything worked. So the guy at the front desk said he will Prepare everything for me. When I took the truck and went to out moving location, my utility dolly and other furniture dolly was not given to us. I trusted the guy what he told me that he will prepare everything which I thought included all the equipment I paid for. I needed up driving more than the expected kilometres paying more to get the dollies. Partially my fault for not checking the inside of the truck. Would appreciate it if the guy at the front desk lead us in a better direction as I'm a first time user.Sion P.

Log the proper mileage and fuel after a truck is repaired and have the proper rented equipment in the truck. We had issues with the 24/7 check in and drop off because of improper documentation of mileage and fuel on the truck after they had a windshield repaired and our blankets and dolly were in a different truck. Due to the lack in care it caused us hours of having to be on hold with the call centre trying to get the rental and return it. Extremely unimpressed.Logan G.
It took me 1 and a half hours to get through returning truck procedure due to location checking issue using my mobile phone. Even if Uhaul call centre made a note that I returned my truck before the end of my reservation, local operator disregarded it and charged me late return fee which was 2 days worth retal fee. 24/7 shared service using mobile is too complicated. And there must be alternative way to confirm my location other than using mobile phone's GPS in case it doesn't work.minwook Y.

Mechanic owner could care less about his uhaul customers to say the least. Charged me 15$ insurance after he watched me decline it on the machine. Had no interested in resolving the situation and just said he didnt care his business just fixes cars and he wished he had nothing to do with uhaul because "everyone always complains". ...no doubt! They didn't actually have pick-up trucks - which won't be a problem if you're ok with vans, but the booking options are misleading. If you absolutely need a pick-up, go to another location.Franknel P.

I wanted to express my dissatisfaction in my recent experience with U-haul at the Boong Boong Motors Group (105-641 Lougheed Hwy Coquitlam, BC). After doing my reservation with days in advanced and the check-in online. I arrived at the location at 11:00AM to pick up my rental only to find out that the location was closed (on regular business hours). After getting a hold of them on the phone they told me there was no one to attend to me and that I should call U-haul to fix it. I tried getting a resolution with u-haul on the phone to obtain access to the rental with the support personnel, however for some reason this was not possible (not to a fault of the u-haul personnel). They had to send me to a different location to pick up another unit. Wasting about 2 hrs of that morning ruined my moving schedule as my building had only provided 2 hrs of elevator service (and charged a $100 moving fee). Also, the people helping with the moving were working on a schedule and I ended up moving the whole thing by myself. Not to mention the extra time I had to take off work which also costed me some hours of pay. The Boong Boong Motors groups is supposed to have a reservation guarantee and they should be accountable for that as my unit was not delivered at said location.Jorge B.

Hi, I took a picture of the fuel gauge when I start igniting the truck and also took another picture when I dropped off the truck, but I was charged for extra $57 for refill fuel although the two pictures show that the level of fuel are the same. This is called steeling from your clients pocket in the very nutritious way. If you don't pay me back then I will follow my claim and you will be sorry, for sure. From the minute I walked in the front door to the minute I walked out was an appalling experience. I will never go back and never recommend. The man was so rude and blamed everything on U Haul. He did not know how to use his computer and blamed that on U Haul. I had to park 4 blocks away and walk back in the rain. I asked if I could park in the spot where the U Hau van had been, NO NO NO he said, Trying to get a receipt from him was impossible. I drove 64 KMS and put $12.00 of gas in. He sad I owed $7.00. This U-Haul location shares a front office with a mechanic shop. Service at the front desk was a bit slow due to the staff having to take care of both sides of the business. The person who looked after us (Junhyung Park) was very friendly and helpful.Chi K.

Vendor didn't know how the payment worked when I wanted to use debit. Took 20 mins to find out uhaul mails me a check, which is archaic and ridiculous. Why can't the vendor just refund the difference from the deposit back on my debit card!? Van has a dead battery when I picked it up so had to wait for a jump start. We initially made a reservation at the Gatensbury in Coquitlam store to rent for 9am and the store owner never showed up and the truck wasn't there either. The price was right, but the vehicle had no ramp! The front end service was multi-tasking and had trouble completing my invoice with the head-office. Bottom line, no prob with the vehicle and the price but someone at the desk needs to be their full time to handle surges in customers...cheersBrian E.
