I use Uhaul vehicles fairly regularly. I have come to hate the policy about fuel levels upon return. As the vehicles are not full when you pick them up, and since the fuel gage is very approximate considering the large gas tank, returning the vehicle with the same amount of gas in the tank is a guess. I have now been dinged three times with ridiculously high fuel surcharges for returning the vehicle with 'less' gas than when I rented it. More than 90$ over three rentals. I do not think that the vehicles are gased up when returned by the previous driver. Each time I rent, there is a different amount of gas in the tank. The fuel surcharge appears to be purely a cash grab on your part. Raise your rates and drop the abusive surcharges that piss off your customers. I also used your app to reserve the appropriate sized truck for my.project. The closest Uhaul dealer did not have the size I eanted. I drove 20km further to a different dealer for a 10' truck. When I arrived I was refused my reservation because the 10' was broken. I had to rent a larger truck...that wpuld have been available much closer to home. I am dissapointed with the service, especially from Uhaul. Your rep did what he had to do in applying your rules. The rules just suck and are meant to up the final bill for the client. Dishonest! Premièrement, Uhaul m'a envoyé chercher le camion dans une localisation plus loin que celle choisie sur la réservation en ligne. Faute de disponibilité. Afin de me dédommager, Uhaul m'a remis un certificat rabais et un extra kilométrage. Je me suis assurée de téléphoner la succursale de Knowlton pour savoir si je pouvais appliquer ce crédit et également m'assurer que le kilométrage soit bien à mon dossier. Le jour de la réservation, nous avons été accueillis de façon piètre. La personne n'était pas courtoise et ne semblait pas intéressée à nous servir. J'ai parlé du certificat et du kilométrage. Elle m'a dit pouvoir régler cela au retour du camion, soit dans une autre localisation. Le tout avait été discuté avec le centre d'appel préalablement et validé avec la succursale de Knowlton. Rendue à Montréal, j'ai frappé un mur lorsqu'on m'informe que le crédit ne peut être appliqué. Plus d'une heure au téléphone, des explications à plus finir de la situation, des anticipations gérés préalablement, j'ai finalement eu une personne compétente du centre d'appels d'une pour m'aider à résoudre le problème. J'ai sincèrement été très insatisfaite de la situation dès le départ soit le changement de localisation de la prise du véhicule et l'accueil de la personne à Knowlton et des fausses indications que cette personne m'a donné. Pour ces deux points précis, je donne une étoile sur 5 à cette localisation.

Have the option to return the equipment without being physically at the location or even better, an app that works…. There was an error message that your servers were down while I tried to return the material. I’m grateful I was not charge the 20$ fee.

The self checkout is completely broken. In french, it shows a invalid license key message for domain fr.uhaul. In English, it never could validate the order. If noone was in store, I could have never got the truck.

Maybe the constumers service, i call the location to have more information for the pickup day, the guy that respond was not professional, he talk to me like i was not a person and when i got there wasn’t able to look at me for the questions the location was at my names and only talk to my Boyfriend, didn’t experience that kind of misogyny in my life, if i had to move an other time i will not continue with you just because of the client service.

There is a U-Haul facility in Dunham, Quebec, 5 km from my house. I rented a truck there last year. Because U-Haul removed the trucks from this facility, I had to drive 40 Km to get a truck in another town and pay the millage when there is a facility near my house. This was more expensive and frustrating.

Les heures d'ouvertures indiquées n'étaient pas les bonnes, nous avons dû laisser les clés dans la boîte à clés plutôt que de rendre le camion normalement. Ça ne fait pas très professionnel.

Service was excellent. I did realise the next day(sunday) that I did not do the check out using my phone...I tried to do it but I was not at the location..I have learned that by the way.....I did call sunday at the location and they told me no worries, `'we knew you returned it same day before 17:00'...and today, I see and extra 20$ charge !!! I should be refund for that as there was somebody there helping me and also I called on sunday and they told me not to worry.....

I was charged for an extra day, despite the same-day return by late afternoon, because I didn’t notice a text message to the effect that I had to report the return immediately. The rental outlet was closed, and I returned the truck, blankets and dolly as prescribed, swept and clean, and placed the key in the indicated receptacle. Sneaky and unethical practice.

Make the takeout as easy as the return : 20min waiting on the phone because the download of the picture at the takeout did not work, then hearing that the person on the line can help with, need to call the hotline, then 5min later, … for that it was below average. For the location of the pickup, more light on the parking lot, I was unable to see very clearly the truck prior to depart, and spread more salt, the ground was frozen and it was perilous to walk there. Finally, all the requests for identification/confirmation could be requested during the booking, not on the spot when it is -5 degrees.
