Reserved a 10 foot box truck for an 8:00 am Saturday morning pick-up from our neighborhood U-Haul rental place. At 6:00 pm, the night before pick-up, I received a text from U-Haul saying the truck would not be available until 9:30 am. Since it was after hours, I could not reach my neighborhood U-Haul dealer. When I went to the rental place at 9:30, the person said, is everything OK? We had the truck waiting since 8:00. Clearly a lack of communication between HQ and the local office.MICHAEL D.
I was talking to a lady about not being able to return the truck that day and guy got on the phone and started yelling at us. Very rude, mandating for us to clean up the truck even though it was dirty when we got it. He had very bad costumer service, not the right way to talk to peopleKENNY T M.

Highly recommend this place and I would have paid double to rent and return the truck from there even if it would have put me over theileage limit. This was an actual rental office with a staff there specifically for your need. They greeted me upon arrival and provided service immediately with no delay unlike my pick up location. It was exactly the opposite of the pick up location. Trucks were on site, drop off was on site, there were professional adults.Luigi O.

The app that you try to force customers to use to make reservations is dysfunctional confusing and an obstacle that nearly led me to try a different rental company. You need to have a toll free number that people can call up and speak with a human to make reservations. Other than that the rental location that I worked with was excellent as was the vehicle.DAVIDH W.

No one was there for our scheduled time. Several other people were waiting to be helped as well. A staff member finally came later but was not wearing a mask. I felt very unsafe. We had to follow this staff member to their lot (near the Somers Commons Shopping Center) to retrieve the truck. We were not given any instructions, just handed the key. It was so disorganized. I had ordered furniture blankets online but they were not there. After the move we realized the mileage on the contract they sent me via email was wrong, stating we drove almost 3x the miles we actually did. I highly suggest taking a picture of the speedometer and gas gauge before you leave with the truck as proof. It is also important to note that you need to drop the truck off at the business location, not the lot. It was all very confusing. I called with questions several times but had to go to voicemail or deal with very dismissive staff. Also beware of the drop off policy after hours. A staff member said to just drop off the key in the drop box. You need to complete a return on the website that makes you share your location, take pictures, etc. I would definitely not use this location again or recommend it to anyone.Michael W.
The truck was ready and waiting for me. The staff was rude when I returned my vehicle as they did not expect me back so soon since I did not need all 7 hours. None of the UHaul staff were wearing masks. It was a small space and when they spoke with me and other customers they opened the window separating us - breathing on me 1 foot from my face. I felt my life was at risk. I asked that they put on a mask and was ignored. UHaul needs to require their employees who work with the public wear masks. I did a self-return on Sunday, Oct. 11th but the APP could not find my location (the APP asked me to share my location to makes sure I was at correct Uhaul). My location setting was ON. It would not allow me to skip this nor proceed to upload pics. I left the truck and called Lil Pete's the next morning to see if I had to go again, but he said all was ok and truck had already been returned. Employee emailed me the receipt. HE was helpful. The APP needs to have option to skip "share location" setting or be able to skip it.Patricia C.
Doesn't a rental company do a walk around of the truck and vehicle trailer before a customer leaves the shop to make sure they are familiar with everything? I was surprised and disappointed that they simply gave me the keys and sent me on my way. What if I loaded my vehicle on the trailer incorrectly and killed someone?Evan O.

I had to wait 35 min for truck to be brought from a remote location. The U-Haul online sign up was awkward and difficult. The staff at Lil Pete's did step up and get me on the road when they by-passed the mobile sign in.bob R.

Had the worst experience picking up my truck. I would have cancelled if I had another option but since it was so last minute,I had no choice. The app didn't allow me to pick up my truck. My reservation needed to be verified and it took half an hour for someone to get to that. Then the reservation suddenly disappeared from the app so I couldn't get the keys to the truck. I waited on hold for another half an hour for anyone from customer service to get to me. Then the person helping me just kept telling me to restart my app even though that obviously wasn't helping. She didn't know how to actually fix anything. Eventually the poor hertz guy came out and changed my reservation to another truck so I could at least get on the road. But it took him another half hour to do it. And it's not his job. You guys should have a better system for actually helping when there's an issue. It put me back hours in my move. I was livid. If it weren't for the hertz worker, I'd still be trying to unlock that truck.Lauren I.
If the price is the same in every uhall location then people should not play with the price and bring it up. They think cause it's a women it's ok it's not. On Saturday May 23 I got a UHal from Maryland to NY paid 207 with tax extra miles came to 227. Few days later I go to Mahopac NY and they try to charge me 477.00 before that 377.00 for a 5 hour trip and I turned uhall in next day not even 24 hours . I pre-ordered and paid for moving blankets, and was told upon arrival the day of my move that they were not available and was offered no alternated other than "go to walmart and buy them there" I placed the order to rent the blankets well over a week in advance, and was smugly told by the attendant this isn't a uhaul hub, we don't have anything, 'what you don't have moving blankets?' ..No. that is why I elected the service to rent them.. My advice: please don't try to up sell your clients at every turn on the website if you cannot deliver the product.Brenda D.
This place is a scam. I spoke To one of the brothers who works here. They charged me for uhaul after hours. I figured I was doing them a favor by dropping of the uhaul early to them. I even Said I would Be dropping it off early and at no point did anyone tell me there was a charge. But waste of money and the guys who run this are a scary and full of BS. They don't tell you the info you need to know and people end up wasting their hard earned money. I ended Up renting a uhaul for $29.95 and only used 20 miles on it. When it was all said and done I spend over $120 to use a uhaul for 2/3 hours. What a waste and a scam. Never again will i go there for any services. When I called The guy he said I dont Mean to be a dick but those are the rules and I can't control what uhaul does. Not even let me see what I can Do or maybe I can Help. All he said was I don't mean to be a dick and basically read. Thanks for nothing !MILO H.

The office was fine. However it was a few miles from the actual lot where the trailer had to be dropped off which is in essentially a rundown old farm with a bunch of dilapidated vehicles and buildings all over it.Karen A.
