It was easy and quick to get the van and return it. The van itself drove very well and was comfortable and it held everything that I needed. The rear camera could of had a guide line so you knew where the back of the van was. That was the only problem I had. The side mirrors were good but the rear even with the camera was not enough. We had an early pick up scheduled and they wouldn't give me access to the key. I called the uhaul number and spoke to someone for 40 minutes, the person on the phone was rude and did not help the situation. I used 3 different credit cards and the uhaul system declined all 3 and there is plenty of money on the credit cards. I had to sit and wait for the storage place to open so an employee could help me. Absolutely horrible experience. I was a refund for my troubles!Anthony S.

Great experience despite truck breakdown. Contacted Life Storage when the truck wouldn't start after our first stop and they (Lisa) ensured rapid resolution. She had the U-Haul Roadside Service Mgr call us within 5 minutes and a tow truck was checking out the truck in <30 min. Due to the very tight timeline for our move we could not wait to see if the truck could be repaired, so we called Lisa to inquire whether she had an alternate truck available. She was extremely understanding and cancelled our original rental and provided a new truck for us. We were back on the road with the replacement truck about 20 min after our phone call. When we returned the truck slightly after closing, Lisa was still inside sweeping up (despite fighting some flu-like symptoms), and she came outside to inquire whether everything with the replacement truck went smoothly. The next morning she called to confirm that the original rental had been cancelled successfully. Her customer advocacy resulted in a very positive rental experience. I highly recommend Life Storage of Lakewood for U-Haul truck rentals.James H.

The rental was awful. I spoke with a female on Sunday, the day before my rental, to confirm the reservation for 5pm on Monday. I explained I would be coming right from work and she said they close at 6pm so I would need to be there before then. At 5:10 on Monday, a male called and said I would need to be in by 5:30 as he needs to close that earlier to have time to close the main office by 6pm. I explained that was not what I was told the day previous and he said he would keep it open until 5:45 but no later. I arrived at 5:27 and the male was on the phone, he was on the phone until about 5:40 at which time we started the rental. The rental over 30 minutes as he had no idea how to process the rental and needed to call Uhaul support and spoke with Boris 3 times during the process to finally get this done. We also needed to repeat steps since the first time he added the insurance even through I completed the waiver and then AGAIN when he did not add in the furniture dolly. At this point I said either to comp the dolly or just forget it as this was taking too long. He said he would not charge me for the dolly. I am very upset as I had an appointment to pick up furniture and friends scheduled to help me move, both needed to wait due to the delay with the rental. Then, I get my bill and there is a reference to 12 furniture mats being used with a charge for $10.00. I did not rent any furniture pads, just the $7.00 dolly. No one was rude or unprofessional, the location was clean, and the truck was very nice, only ~2000 miles, but the rental experience left much to be desired and added unneeded stress.Peter S.
