hire new staff that are caring and willing to help you rather than being rude and unfriendly and perhaps clean the area where people go in to pick up their trucks,very unkept,dirty not well maintained . my reservation went from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.and finally was able to get at 12 p.m. Thus putting my move 3 hours behind,had to rush the move as we had to be out of appartment by 3 p.m.and then travel 5 hours

When i returned the vehicle after hours i tried to input my mileage but the out mileage was in miles and my odometer was in kilometres so it didn't allow me to put in my mileage

I had booked furniture pads and a dolly only to discover at the pick up location that the items are not guaranteed and were not available. U-Haul website should give this information because I was counting on the furniture pads for a moving and had to go and buy them, which caused a delay in my schedule.

The printer was not working and my contract was emailed to me. I was moving and did not look at the details regarding returning the vehicle and so I was charged $20 for not having the paperwork filled out. This was not explained to me when I picked up. Poor customer service.

Good customer service, the man who helped me was very friendly and helpful. There were no furniture pads available. I booked to pick up my truck at Sukhi Auto Repair and was told it would be a mobile pick up so I could get the truck before they opened. I got there and called U-Haul and found out I could not get the truck from there, and I had to go to the Coxwell location. This was very frustrating to deal with in -20 weather on my moving day. The Coxwell location was great, but why does this seem to always happen with the secondary locations? Do better please.

Vehicle was dirty. In my order, I requested a dolly. After driving off without one and returning to the lot, the employee informed me that they did not have any. This should have been communicated prior to me leaving the lot. In addition, although my vehicle was returned during operational hours, my vehicle was not checked out and I was prompted to sign out using the app, several hours later.

They provided equipment that was old and non-operable. We broke down in Kingston Ontario and had to wait 7 hours to get back on the road. Total inconvenience and irresponsible on Leslieville Moving & Storage for allowing anyone to drive a faulty vehicle.

My reservation was at the Gerrard location, but they didn’t have the vehicle I reserved so they sent me first to Parliament where they also did t have a vehicle, so I finally had to go to Coxwell. Overall it was a really unpleasant And long experience. I probably won’t come back as I don’t have time to being Sent from one location to another to hopefully find the vehicle I reserved ahead of time. Get your shit together.

When someone orders a truck a month in advance, it would be nice if the truck they order is on site when they arrive at the pickup time. And if the truck is not there it would be nice not to be redirected to another depot that is closed. And when you return and ask for another truck because the other depot is closed, rather than send them to yet another depot, it would be nice to have another truck brought to your current location from the other depot 10 minutes down the street. And while I understand that dollies might be in short supply at a moving truck rental facility, perhaps when a dolly is requested on the same order a month in advance, try to make sure one is on site at the time of pickup. And while I appreciate that the app isn't under your control, when you need the app to do an after hours return, the app should allow you to upload the required photos to your account, or let people know to just use the website rather that sit on hold with your 24-hour national (pretty sure American not that it matters) helpline for 40 minutes on 4 different redirects to another department, each asking what the concern is.

They put down I had 3/8 gas as soon as I left the gas tank went down to 1/4 . I drove the truck for 50 km next thing I'm on empty . I was forced to put down 40 dollars of gas and gave them 1/2 tank. That's absurd

Experience was terrible. Truck was not ready, covered in snow and stuck behind multiple other trucks. Associate could not help get the truck out or get it ready for us. dolly was not available even though ordered online and gas was left at minimum. Awful experience and would never recommend.

The alignment in the truck was off ( drive pointed at 11:00 to go straight) I reserved 2 dollies and was sent a confirmation text message that they would be in the truck, and the when we showed up they weren't available... 10+ minute wait in line to get checked in

Why is there no "move in, move out" type of inspection done on the rentals at least before or after with the customer?

I booked a different location and you guys changed it 2 hours before the pick up. I called and the person from customer service from U-haul was rude, she even say "hold a moment" and just transfer the call to another person that didn't know anything about my case and was also not cooperative. The change made me pay 2 cabs that I should not have to pay and get a delay in my delivery based on the changed location. Please check my account, until yesterday I was renting U-haul trucks up to 2 times a week for my business. I am switching now to a different provider, hopefully they will value my business.

I did not sign up for the $15 coverage yet I was charged for it. Less than 3 litres of gas was used and I was charged $25. I am not pleased and will dispite this. Total ripoff. That's why you take before and after photos, which I did. They also charged me an extra hour and I had it a total of 51 minutes.

My experience with U-Haul was beyond terrible. This is no fault of the XYZ location where I was to pick up the van I wanted to rent. The reservation was supposed to be for 24hrs...this can be validated by reviewing the recording from Monday Dec 9th. Upon attempting to pick up my rental I was told the reservation was for 3 hours which defeated the purpose of the rental. The rep from XYZ was very understanding and called U-Haul to dispute and to try and straighten things out. I could hear the frustration in her voice as she dealt with U-Haul...she was also repeating back to me what the U-Haul representative was communicating. I then asked to speak to the U-Haul rep directly. It has been a long time since I have dealt with an individual that does not have any customer service skills and lacks empathy. The "manager" advised me there was nothing wrong with the reservation and that the error must have been on my side. I was then told another location had a rental available. I advised I had no way to get to another location as I had been dropped off. The manager's response was to take public transit or call an uber...in short not her problem. I then asked to speak to someone above her only to be told that "no managers were available until Monday morning. As my conversation with her was at approximately 12:30 pm on Friday I suspect that was a lie. She finally offered to comp me $30 to cover the cost of a taxi/uber from the location...a location further away from my home. The "manager" booked the reservation which again was to be for 24 hours. No sooner than hanging up I received the booking confirmation which was for the same day for 6 hours. So much for management knowing what they are doing!! I then placed another call to U-Haul and had the reservation adjusted to 24 hours. The net result a completely negative experience and a more expensive booking due to the second location being further away from my home. The original location was 8 minutes away from my home...the final location 25 minutes away. Based on my experience I don't have any plans to use U-Haul again. Will try Discount or Enterprise.

Although the staff was friendly, the truck they provided was dirty and has multiple things broken (Both tail lights, turn signals, tire pressure sensor, parking brake handle, etc.). Upon exchanging the truck they changed my contract and charged me the $15 collision, as well as a high price rental ($89 instead of the $19.95 + km). After bringing this up with them multiple times, they still weren’t able to fully correct the situation leaving me extremely frustrated and feeing like I over paid. I had to call them 5 times just to have them give me the collision waiver return. It all just feels like slimy business practises. Also the new truck has no windshield fluid and took a while for them to find a new jug to fill up.

Appreciate if you can give the new person a small info about the truck. I was finding rough time figuring out the buttons and stuffs. I couldn’t figure out the light switch until the end and which lead to 20 mins delay. No USB, my mobile died and I was struggling to find route ??

Uhaul was awful. Gave away my truck without telling me, had it booked weeks in advance. Then their online support were absolute assholes. Phone support girl was really nice and helpful, but damn, the guy at 480 Coxwell, is an absolute boss. The whole move was off the rails, and he got me set up and on the way. I didn't catch his name but he was great.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR SAFETY! They rented us a van today that had a slow leak in one of the tires, no rear turn signals and no washer fluid (extremely dangerous when driving in any weather, but especially today with the snow). The guy at the desk also blatantly lied and said there were snow tires on the van, which there clearly wasn’t. The cab of the van wreaked of cigarette smoke and was absolutely filthy, and there was McDonalds trash on the floor. Then the guy tried to charge me an extra $50 for late return, claiming the van had to be back at 1pm when my invoice clearly states 1:30pm, which we had it back by. Too bad they sent me a text with my proper return time, and too bad I took photos and video of everything. I will be reporting this place to UHaul head office. It should be shut down and the man working today, December 1st, between 10:30am and 1:30pm (the time of my rental) should be fired. When I brought up the numerous safety hazards of the vehicle he laughed in my face and said “good luck” when I asked for my money back. If you read the other reviews of this place the safety concerns and condition of the vehicles are identical, so that obviously means nothing was done to address anything. Do not rent from here.

You guys totally screwed me over and despite my doing everything you guys told me to do to fix the problem of having had the fuel level incorrectly recorded on my contract, I STILL GOT INCORRECTLY CHARGED. I’m exhausted. You guys suck. I need someone to contact me immediately to refund me. But I know I won’t hear from anyone and I’ll have to call you AGAIN.

Service was slow which is fair considering it was a busy time, however the location didn’t have any of the trailer wiring harnesses that go between the tongue of the trailer and the vehicle. I ended up having to splice together some spare parts to make the lights work so that the trailer was safe and legal to pull. The pickup process added nearly an hour to my day for a simple trailer rental.

Not charge me a cleaning fee when I took a photo of the cabin showing it was dirty when I picked it up and certainly did not make it dirtier. You can also reimburse people for gas if they put more gas in the truck than when they picked it up, or always have the trucks full at pickup and to be returned full at drop off like rental cars.

The van was disgusting and it stunk. There was spilled drinks all over the cup holders, and garbage under the seats and on the dash. The guy working said it was homeless people who sleep in the vans, but this was someone driving around hitting bumps and pop spilling over... even if it was a homeless person, it should still be clean. Also neither back signal lights were working. No wonder why I was getting beeped at, but the bigger issue is that if I got into an accident because of it, it would be on me. This was my first time renting with U-haul and I was unimpressed.

The van was very dirty both inside and out. There is water and sand in the trunk. Cigarette butt in the drivers cabin. The van was also displaying a warning about tire pressure, however the store agent said all their trucks do that.

I only wish that the original associate I spoke with on the phone when I made the reservation the day before or the associate I was dealing with in person the next day at the location was clearer about the daily rate. It was well after I drove off the lot that the text I received informed me it was a 5 hour rental. and not a full day rental as I assumed. Also there was no vehicle inspection for damage before I left the lot. Other than that everyone was pleasant and efficient.

Removing snow from the van prior to renting it would be helpful. The van was covered in snow completely and there was no one there to clean it since we used the mobile app. Returning it was a problem the kilometer in our comtract (19150) said a higher number than the kilometer when returning (1763.3). I had to call customer service at 11pm and wait 10min to get someone to.speak to. Very inconvenient.

The van seats, dashboard and cupholders were filthy, as was the floor in the passenger area. I left a water bottle in the van when I dropped it off on Saturday, notified customer service who told me to call the location. I called multiple times, no one ever picked up the phone and the voice mail was full. When I came by in person on Wednesday morning, they told me the water bottle was thrown out on Tuesday. Improvements? clean the passenger compartment of the vehicle and pick up the phone!

The windshield wipers were horrible. I was travelling 150km and had to stop every 10 min to wipe them down. Also there was no scraper or brush in the truck to deal with snow and ice. There was also no windshield wiper fluid so I had to buy some and put it in myself.

There was a mechanic in the office who claimed he didn’t know who the uhaul service rep was or even what he looked like. “I’m just contracted to fix things, I don’t know anything.” A better response would be “Someone will be in shortly, they are routinely in the yard preparing vehicles for rental.”

I used the mobile check in, which was not particularly simple to use. The truck I was assigned by the app was parked behind another truck, so I had to wait in line for 20 minutes to be assigned a new vehicle. I appreciate that mistakes happen and believe I received good service from the staff onsite, but shouldn’t have had to wait, which should be the objective of the app.
