It was a nightmare. First i got called before my reservation date stating they only had 27 ft trucks and we're not able to give me the 20ft truck i reserved. Gave me 50$ discount i was ok with it. Then, Location didnt have self pick up and website only gave me the option for self pick up. People at the location kept blaming uhaul and made us wait over 2 hours. Only got A 50 $ refund when I had to pay movers an extra 2 hours because couldn't get the truck. On top of that, had to put 200$ in gaz because the truck was huge. So they gave me a little 100$ when this matter costed me 400$... I felt disrespected and in stressful days such moving, uhaul made it even more stressfulSara Y.

Opening hours are not practical. 10 am to 5 pm closed on Monday and Tuesday. There was a fuel charge of $38.52 which is unjustified.I have a photo of the fuel gauge and final mileage taken on site at end of trip. The mileage is correct but the fuel reading shows it is between 3/8 and 1/2 . Your receipt shows between 1/4 and 3/8, This is false. Also the appliance dolly was defective and dangerous! Finally the billing is in English. Magog is in QuÃ©bec.It should be in French. Therefore I request a refund of $38.52 plus taxes for the fuel charge and a refund of $10.00 plus taxes for the defective appliance dolly.MARCEL D.

We were forced to get the insurance even after saying we didn't need it. The dealer added it and mentioned that there was no turning back as it has already been processed by the system. After saying that we wouldn't use the service after all because we clearly mentioned that we were not taking the insurance, the dealer said we would be charged $50 to cancel. We were not allowed to keep a copy of the contract, the dealer insisted on getting our copy back when we returned the truck even if it was the unsigned copy for the client. It had snowed and the truck wasn't cleaned up from the snow. The dealer was rude.Curtis H.

Tedious, power-hungry, not customer-oriented owner. I went there because I had no other options available locally, last-minute. He charged me 5$ extra to park my car while using the Uhaul truck, which is unheard of anywhere else in my area. The truck was not full of fuel when I received it. I noticed the dealer's employee, and he just told me to return the truck at the same level of fuel. I told him that my contract mentioned that the truck was full and that I was expecting problem when I would return the truck. The employee still told me not to bother with that and to return the truck at the same fuel level. That's what I did and as expected, I was wrongly charged for missing fuel. I was very angry and called back the dealer that he said it was not responsible for that and that I had to call the customer service. Customer service has been very hard to reach. Firs, I have been told that I would be called back by the customer service agent, and it never happened. After 3 additional calls, I got an agent that filled-out a complaint for me about that, and he told me that I would be called back within 72 hours. I'm waiting this call back. I find very frustrating that all the burden is on me while I properly informed the employee of the fuel problem BEFORE I took the truck, and this employee wrongfully advised me "not to bother with that". Now, all the trouble are on me because this employee and his dealer where incompetent. I'll never again rent a truck at U-Haul and I will tell my hole story on the Google page of U-Haul as well as on the Google page of the dealer.Gabriel B.

The service at the pick-up location was horrible ( 6853 BOUL BOURQUE in SHERBROOKE). The Uhaul representative was rude and unrespectful. There was a trolly that I rented with the truck that he did not have and told me that his was my problem and that I had to call Uhaul support number so we can find an other location where I could get the trolly, I wanted to cancel my rental but my day was planned and the representative knew this and he threathen me to cancel himself the agreement. Please, if you can you should stop this location to be a Uhaul location. It give Uhaul a really bad name. The rest of the service online was amazing. I beg you to stop you business with this location. I garanty that I am not the only one that is badly serviced , since I saw him doing the same thing with another customer. Firstly we were booked to return to another location ( East Angus) and they refused to accept the truck. It was a Sunday morning and many locations were closed ; we finally reached one location that would accept the truck but when we arrived we were told to leave. It was crazy. They were very rude. I then called the same person who spoke to the person managing Bourque street and they had an argument and finally we were allowed to leave the truck. Total disorganization.William K.

Get your system in check with your reps. They don't know how to run the system and take up to 30 min per client to get the keys. I waited 1h30 before someone even talked to me . Then took another 30 min to get my truck because the system was down and the clerk didn't know how to run the system. Worst rental experience ever. Opened at 10 so all my crew was waiting on me also. The person in charge expect people to pay 5$ to park in his parking lot because he has a business to run. I moved in town for a total of 4 hours and he wanted me to pay 5$ to leave my car there. This is not acceptable. I ended up parking beside his parking lot to not have to pay his 5$ fee. I've rented at other uhaul sites I've true years and never had to pay a fee for in town moving. Commitment. I reserved a truck and a dolly one month in advance to be picked up in Montreal. A day before my moving I received a call from head office noting that there was no truck of that size available in Montreal. My options: have an Ontario driver's license (in addition to my Quebec driver's license) and take a bigger truck (re: definitely no cause I didn't have another province driver's license) or go to another city namely Sherbrooke located 150 km away of Montreal and take the truck. I had to choose the latter out of desperation. It took my almost the entire day to receive the truck. Moreover, there was no dolly and no mattress cover available at Sherbrooke location, although I had reserved them from a month ago. Before I pick up the truck the online price was shown 230$ with two dollies and two mattress covers included. The gentle man at Sherbrooke location told me that be had to "reset" my order, and then the price jumped up to 239$ with no dolly and no mattres cover. Astonishing! The extra kilomerers from Sherbrooke back to Montreal was not included in my price, or so I was told by the lady on the phone from the head office. Nevertheless, I returned the truck with the same degree of gas as I picked it up in Sherbrooke. That is to say, I had to pay for the gas from Sherbrooke to Montreal which is a considerable amount since the vehicle was a truck. Extra money I was forced to spend, extra effort I was forced to make, a reservation from one month ago which became literally null and void only a day before my planned moving, a double fee that I had to spend to rent a dolly from another company (and I was lucky to find one even for that price), total desperation and disappointment. I have no idea about how I am supposed to recommend the service to any friends. Nobody wants to jeopardize their friends' plans specially during their sensitive times!Mohammad A.

That was the worst experience hiring a vehicle i have ever had in my life. I made the reservation for 9am. Nobody was at the office until 9.15am and i wasn't able to make an online pick up of the vehicle. I had to wait until 9.40am until I could collect the vehicle which meant I had lost 40minutes. Therefore, I was completely stressed on the moving day, more than I should have been and he said if I returned the truck late that I would be penalised. I explained this to the customer representative who said it wasn't his fault as many people had made reservations at 9.00am. I explained to him that I understood this, but it is not the customers fault, if he had seen the reservations in advance, he should have been better prepared and had more staff working that morning. We accidently locked the keys in he truck while taking the piectures for the mileage. We are CAA customer, thay would not help us because of an exclusivity clause since U-Haul has its own assistance. No one from U-haul assisted us, I waited on the live for 30 minutes to be told that a note to the effect that the keys were locked in the reuck would be added to our file. No one was at the location to help when we drop off the truck. I called back at 10h when ti opened, The person in charge told me he could not help, I had to call a tow truck to unlock the door. I usually hate to post comments has i am a patient and very comprehensive person... But this time was enought. I really experience a very bad time in trying to book a trailer at this Uhaul retailer.(liquidation Stebenne) It took me 1hr to be able to enter to the office. It took morre than 20 mins for each persons that was in front of me. And it was not due to their extrem covid procedure (wich i fully understand) but it was due to the very low computer processing of this place. (It always takes me 5 min to other places) Also, due to fault on my side , i couldn't leave with the trailer.(My light harnesses was not working). Wich i also understnad. But i don't understand the no-refund policy of this place. I gave back my paper to the owner and asked him to cancel my booking. I could accept a fee but not the entire invoice. I couldN't waste another 20 mins to re-enter in the office (there were already taken by other unhappy customers) I have to also mention that the didn't asked if i wanted the insurance. I said nothing because i needed to go faster and not get into long discussions. I recommend a visit by a hidden customer in a saturday morning I also have to mentionPascal G.

When we arrived, it was not clear at all where we could drop off the trailer. We saw that the other trailers were all padlocked. So without doing badly, we tried to hide it beside the building. When suddenly the person in charge of the site arrived yelling loud at us to park the trailer somewhere else. The problem, there is nothing written to mention where to drop off the returns at this site. It would be nice that there is poster that shows where to drop.
