We returned the truck in a tiny little town in North Georgia - I think the population is < 1000. There were a total of two employees and the owner involved in the return of the truck and utility trailer. My husband pulled in and parked the truck with trailer in tow near another U-Haul truck. Before he could even get out of the truck, employee #1 came out frowning and gesticulating for him to move that truck! "It's in the way! Move it over there" [pointing to a corner of the lot]. Also she was worked up - "are you returning that trailer, too? We don't take trailers! I don't know what you're going to do about that trailer!" He moved the truck and trailer to the location she indicated. "NO NO NO. It's blocking our sign. Move it back." She held up her hands indicating about 2 feet so he cranked it up again, moved it 2 feet and that was satisfactory to her. I had parked our car and was watching all this. What my husband didn't know is that the entire time he was moving the truck, repositioning it, there was a steady stream of griping from her mouth. "I don't know why she [the owner] rents these things out. We're not a rental company. I shouldn't have to deal with this." BLAH BLAH BLAH. I finally apologized to her for inconveniencing her. To my amusement, the back of her T-shirt had a picture of Olaf the snowman from the movie Frozen. The caption said "I'm having a meltdown" and, boy, did she ever! Employee #2 showed up and was quite nice saying she would get "her" meaning the owner and it wouldn't be long. That was fine. I chatted with employee #2 while waiting and she was, indeed, quite friendly and nice. Owner shows up and she was quite nice too. Nothing else was said about the trailer after Employee #1 unloaded on us about the trailer. My husband had to remind the owner to take a picture of the gas gauge so off they went to photograph gas gauges! I estimate it took us 45 minutes to return the truck. I'm supposed to answer a general question "were the personnel helpful". Well, the Dragon Food Mart lady wanted to be helpful but it was a painful hour spent there. And... she smelled of stale cigarette smoke. Ack! The rude lady when we returned the items was not helpful at all. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever witnessed a staff member act in such a manner. I used to own my own business and behavior such as that would not be tolerated. Maybe she was having a bad day or had gotten bad news but she never stopped spouting negativities and complaints. It must be exhausting to expend that much negative energy aimed at customers who were simply doing what they were told to do. What else went wrong? Somehow the order for the trailer got cancelled along the way even though it was in the system when we picked it up. When the order was cancelled, the payment was cancelled. The next day I had a call from the district manager who was very nice to deal with. He explained to me about the cancellation and said he had to reenter the trailer rental so they could get paid. Well, that's fine. If we owe money for services rendered, we want to pay it. He gave me his cell phone # if anything came up later that I had questions about. Picking up the units & returning them were not good experiences. The order was screwed up but easily fixed. Hiring labor - oh, that was fun. We needed help to unload the 15' truck and 9 foot utility trailer. I won't go into details because it's so convoluted but it ended up I had to track down assistance about 8 hours before we needed it. Not a day, not two days but the same day. U-Haul emailed me someone would call me from the company I chose from their website and they would call the "day before" we moved. Nope. Nada. When I called U-Haul they said they just provide the names of companies that provide labor and, if there is a problem, it's on me, the customer. That's when I hit the phones to shake some labor out of the trees! I was fortunate in that I found a company that had some very nice young men available to assist us. I speak a little Spanish and one of the guys spoke a little English so we did pretty well together. If I could use another rental company besides U-Haul I would. Unfortunately, that's not an option in my hometown of 100,000 people. U-Haul apparently has this community sewed up tight. My husband refuses to use what U-Haul calls a "neighborhood store" again so when we make a second run to our new house in North Georgia, we'll have to drive across town to the "official" U-Haul rental center where we hope they know what they're doing and they won't yell at us.

Staff was friendly and helpful Janet was particularly helpful since we really have problems managing the app she was so kind making certain we understood everything and took great care of us. I hope I will be able to do business there again. I will certainly be recommending this location to all my friends.
