I found that I was charged for the Safe Move coverage, when I did not request it nor even was asked by the clerk. Such trickery is often amongst the most frowned upon industry practices. While the vehicle was clean, the location itself (245 Westbrook) smells terrible.

The tongue of the trailer was in the ground, I had no one to help check the lights, the guy argued with me about the payment information, and I kept getting called about bringing the rental back early before my drop off time.

Tis only latched on pop catch and kept to slow roads and returned truck. Just want to make sure can get addressed, so does not pop on someone who does not relize whats happening.
Kevin BThe location person attempted to include insurance that was not on the original contract which I disputed - especially after I did a walk around on the vehicle and found damage not disclosed in the report given - I work into automotive industry and teach service personnel walk around techniques - the way this person was dishonest about the insurance and disclosure it left an incredibly sour impression that my “purchase” of insurance was to be the remedy for existing damage to vehicle - the practice is dishonest and reprehensible- it has stained my impression of uhaul possibly to the point that your response to this complaint will determine if I ever use your service and indeed may steer people elsewhere.

kevin bIt wasn't the best experience, to start we were told the day before that instead of the 15' truck that we were upgraded to a 26' vehicle and there were no other options in the Ottawa area. This resulted in us occurring additional expense as we now had to rent a motel for the evening as we could no longer park in the driveway and Ottawa would not allow street parking. I could have parked the loaded truck at the facility however we declined due to additional cost required and quite frankly our trust was broken and I was not going to subject myself to further complications. The truck itself had a crack that ran the entire length of the window which was a distraction for the 6 hour drive. I think when a customer rents a vehicle at a certain size the company should provide it or tell the customer it wouldn't be available. I am disappointed.

GAVIN MPerson was rude. Place smells because it's not a uhaul store but a weird shop that sells junk and place smelt like dead animals. The app was extremely slow, to the point every step I had to wait 3-4 mins before it responded. When returning the truck I used chrome instead that was much much better.

It was so dark and unsafe We called dispatch she said that the van is not on location and Natasha figured out another location in 20 minute ride, in this point we was already late for our appointment. After we loaded the van we tried to start it and the battery just died, another hour to get that fixed…. ( double late in same day) After we finished our tasks we want back to parking spot, it was dark same as previous location ((( It’s my first experience, and it wasn’t same as I expected shut out to Muaz customer service is really good)

Shannon MThe experience I received from U-Haul was Terrible, I had reserved a 20 truck few weeks ago and the night before my reservation pick up I was told by U-HAUL that the 20 foot truck was no longer available (overbooked) I ended up with. 15 foot truck which was too small to accomodate my equipment. This was very disappointing. However the gentleman at the pick up location was very helpful.

Kevin HThe truck back door was very hard to close. In fact I could not close it by myself. I had to ask a big man to do it for me. I rented big trucks before and the back sliding door was very easy to close properly. It needed oil or grease for sure.

Jessica MI encountered a very interesting and unpleasant situation: I used U-haul services for the first time, and when I rented the truck I was told that after the move I could return the truck to any partner or U-haul center at a convenient location in Ottawa. I returned the truck to a U-haul partner at 2833 Dumaurier Ave, Ottawa, ON K2B 7W3 which was my way. They didn't even inspect the truck there, took the keys and said that was the end of it, it was OK. The next morning I was contacted by a U-haul partner and found out that my rental car order was still considered not closed. Suggested that I pick up the truck and bring it to him. I did so and my order was completed. I wasted a lot of time on this procedure. Why the guys at the place I originally returned the truck to did this to me is unclear. Maybe because of incompetence or negligence, or maybe they wanted to make me have to pay for additional services. I was not satisfied. But I am grateful to the second U-haul partner — L&S Food Corp for helping me resolve the problem.

jonathan aWas not sure what type of gas was being used in my rental van. Everything else was very easy to follow from finding van in the lot to dropping van off and giving back the key. The app was very helpful in following the proper procedure for returning the van.
Lucas OAlthough the rental agent was friendly enough, I stood in the office by myself for almost 10 minutes waiting to be acknowledged. In that time I texted, then went outside to look for him, rang the bell on the desk and finally phoned, just to have him appear from a side room. The office was very dark (no overhead lights on) and very cluttered. I went out to hook up the trailer and make sure the lights were working and as I approached the entrance door (metal slab door, no window) the door opened about a foot and the agent let out a rather extended beltch. I don’t think he knew I was there but that level of rudeness in the service industry is inexcusable. I don’t need to rent very often from U-Haul but in the future I will find another location that will not be nearly as convenient but will hopefully represent the U-Haul brand more professionally. One other thing - I had to read out my credit card number including the security code. Why does a U-Haul location not have a machine to scan cards in?

Tim L1) Your “automated” pickup, and return systems are consistently terrible. I am literally NEVER able to complete an automated pick up or drop off with my always up to date mobile device. You fail every time on the app and web browser. Such an incredible waste of time. Why can’t you get your act together? 2) Big boxy trucks in 2023, and you still have back-up cameras??
Steven SI had to drive across the city to this location. Because UHaul didn't have any 5X9 trailers anywhere near me. This location had two. This cost me a ton of fuel, and I hate how Uhaul doesn't let you know there isn't anything in your area until it's too late to find something else from another vendor closer. I would have liked to drop the trailer off closer to where I live. (There is a uhaul location right beside my house. But that wasn't an option. I find overall the uhaul system to be just absolutley chaotic and unreliable. I really wish they would fix it. This location is okay, but is very narrow and crowded with everyone coming at the same time to get trailers.
