The mobile service did not work and it made me late for my reservation.

The Lake Shore Mobil staff are helpful and professional. We drove to the larger U Haul location nearby and their internet was down, so they eere unable to assist or dispatch the truck. Lake Shore Mobil made rental easy!

While I am not one to go out of way to complain about service experience, this experience was so negative that it merits a response. I showed up to get my Uhaul 10-15 minutes prior to pick up, and the inexperienced staff behind the counter was having a hard time finding my location. When asking his manager to help him either locate my reservation or help take the other customers at this convenience store location, the manager laughed and said "I don;t have all the answers, I don't do Uhaul." After 20 minutes of being unable to get anywhere, the counter clerk just handed me the keys and said goodbye, which I though was strange but did not question as I trusted the clerk to have the proper training. Once I returned home, I realized that the inside of the box was filthy--garbage, dirt piles, dog hair, etc. It took well over 15 minutes to get the box into a satisfied condition. Finally after returning the U Haul, the new counter clerk informed me that the old clerk did not check me out or check the prior driver in, meaning there was no way to corroborate my low miles (5 miles) usage. All in all, this location struggled to be able to handle the traffic of their own business with U Haul traffic, and clearly there is an attitude by management that U Haul customers don't matter--as evidenced by both snarky comments and by failing to provide even the most basic training or internal control system to this segment of the convenience stores' business.

I was unsure of where to drop the moving truck off once we were done with the truck. I was told when I dropped off the truck that there will be a refund of $30.00. I am wondering if that is true.

- The truck I rented online indicated that it would come with a ramp. The truck did not have a ramp! This was one of the main reasons I rented a truck. It was very difficult to move heavy items without having a ramp. - The advertised rate on misleading. The actual cost is 3-4x the advertised rate.

Please have someone who is knowledgeable/experienced to attend people who are picking up uhauls. Moving in/out is a stressful experience anyway, but having someone be completely lost and nonchalant about the entire process was very frustrating. He didn't know which truck was mine and told me to go try the key out on all of them until I found the one that works. Even though I'm paying for my time with this truck. He didn't know which papers I needed to sign or keep. He didn't know why they truck wasn't starting. When I finally came back to turn it in, he didn't know what to do with the gas portion of the contract. He didn't know he had to charge me for it either. I was 5 minutes early for my drop off, but instead it was marked I was 5 minutes late because he was simultaneously doing my paperwork (again, not knowing what to do for it), and talking to two 11 year old girls about texting in class and boys and so on. I'm sorry but terrible experience. I've never even taken the time to do a review until now, please check this so future renters don't go through the same thing.
