The location, specifically Marie, went above and beyond. However, i will never use UHauls remote check in because it was a complete failure. Ridiculous that as I'm pulling up to pick up my vehicle after hours, that UHaul would expect me to have my passport, a lease agreement (for me a mortgage) or my employer info for UHaul to contact and verify who i am. Mind you, this was 8:00 at night and i work for a huge corp where even if it were during business hours, it's HR dept is extremely busy. If it weren't for Marie at the location, i would never have gotten my truck.

Fix the mobile service for check in. Couldn't complete by app. Had to wait on hold for about 45 minutes to check truck back in cause photo wouldn't except of mileage and fuel

It was difficult to get the keys to the truck and I could not even get into the gate to return the truck. Luckily somebody was leaving so I was able to get through the gate but still unable to complete the check in process of returning the truck. Very stressful and to a very stressful day.

Roger I G.Using the app to return the truck is not too bad. Using the app to pickup a truck was fairly cumbersome last time I used it. Seems like it was a bit overkill on the verification (such as having another person to call). Would be nice if you could just gather enough info before arriving to pickup that the actual pickup could go faster. I think from now on I'll just plan on picking up when the place is open and then return it when I need to. Using the app for the pickup actually makes it harder than just going there when the place is open.
JOHN A.First off, when choosing the facility online they do not tell you if the actual facility will be open on the day you have the reservation. The process of receiving the access code to the facility was confusing, you need to start the pickup process before you can get into the facility even though you dont have access to the truck yet. You need to write down the access code to the facility because it doesn't give it to you again when atarting the dropoff process. After dropping off the truck there was no way to exit facility due to no one being on-site, the only way the gate opens to exit is if you are in a vehicle so i would have been stuck behind a barbed wire fence all night if someone had not driven up in a car. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.
Matthew C.I made a reservation for 1130am at the lakemoore location. 3 days before my move I was told that my reservation was moved to the McHenry location. I showed up to pick up my 17 foot truck. To be told that I can't get it until 530pm. I wasn't given a straight answer for why my 1130am reservation got moved to 530pm. Ended up getting sent to the round lake beach location to get a cargo van.... so yeah went from a 17 foot truck that was reserved at one location to a cargo van 3 location's later. I will never use uhaul again. Or recommend then to anyone.

GEORGE A.Remind the customer to ask and take note of the code to open the gate of the facility. This will help prevent delay in returning the rental. I suggest using the U-Haul app. I used the U-Haul app to pick up and return the rental. The app is easy to use and makes the whole process pleasant. This was my experience. When I picked up the rental, I did not need the code because the gate was open. When I returned the rental, the gate was already closed (after office hours). I had to call the U-Haul customer service number for assistance. After explaining what I need to the first U-Haul customer rep, I was requested to hold so the rep can find out. While I was waiting, the call was disconnected. I had to call again. I was informed by the second U-Haul rep (Jennifer - was pleasant to talk to) that their office does not have the code and that she needs to transfer me to U-Haul 24/7. Once I was connected, I was immediately given the code which enabled me to enter the facility and return the rental. These series of calls would not have been needed had I had the code.

alton W.Rented from one location. Person from that location called to let me know truck came back in and will be available for me to pick up. Then uhaul corporate called later that day and left me a message that my original location was not a 24/7 and I had to get my truck from another location. The hours of operation were exactly the same as the original location. This added unnecessary miles to my rental. When I went to pick up my truck the so said I did not have a reservation even though I had confirmation emails. Through your chat feature I spent about half an hour to finally get the codes to get in the facility. They said the problem was that I did not pick up the truck at 8pm. The start of my 24hr rental. I feel the reservation should be kept open the full 24hr time I rented the truck. This caused undo aggravation and time to my move.
Thomas S.There was no one onsite! Which sucks when you have to have an access code to enter the property and the 34 1/2' long truck is sticking out into a busy road. Luckily a patron of the facility arrived shortly after I did and gave me his code to enter the facility. Too bad no one was onsite to check in the vehicle. It was a shit experience.

Lisa A.We had a 9 AM reservation. The location was supposed to open at 9 but no one showed up until 10 AM. Then I was on 24/7 share or something like that, so once I could get into the location I had to go through that process to rent the truck and also go through the same process when I returned it. It's a hassle having to go around and take pictures of , myself, my license, etc. to rent the truck. then when I return the women sitting behind the desk just sits there and tells me to use the app to check the truck back in. So I have to go back out and take pictures of the mileage, gas level, and multiple truck interior pictures before I can check out. No point having a human there if they can't show up on time, and when they are there just tell you to go do it yourself. Bad experience overall.

After waiting for the installer to install new lense.... it fell out 200 miles later because he used too small of screws! I was not told the wiring harness was short and I must pick up my own adaptor to have lights!

Larry A. S.I WILL NEVER USE THIS PLACE AGAIN! I picked the truck up and the woman explained that the truck was clean and inspected when last returned. I drove the truck to the local Home Depot to pickup building materials but they were not available. I drove the truck back without ever opening the back door. I was charged $25 cleaning fee because they said that there was glass in the back of the truck. How can there be glass if the truck was inspected prior and I never opened the door? The woman was very rude and unwilling to assist me. I think that it is their attempt to swindle customers and make more money (as they are a smaller family owned operation and this was the daughter). I use Uhaul alot in the past but this has certainly jeopardized my future relationship with them.

We got there and there was a sign that they would be back at 12:30 so we had to wait. The system did go through as she had my info there. It added the insurance though that I did not want. The truck was great. Very new and ran well. But it did not have seat 3 in the cab only seats for 2 and there was NO RAMP. That was a big problem I was not expecting. That size truck should have a ramp! Not the locations fault but U Haul, I imagine.
john W.Everything was wonderful except for a large 2in deep hole in the middle of the truck (panel was broken so one side was down). When using the dolly it got stuck here easily. We ended up breaking a dresser at one point. It was upsetting.
