I quite literally made a reservation for a truck, 3 days in advance just to show up, and none of the locations had a truck. 3 of the locations had to send me to a 4th location, who finally had the truck, but didn't have the dollar equipment needed to move my furniture. I was still charged full price and was expected to get the truck back at 11, even though I didn't pick it up until 12 because I was sent to multiple locations. The service was ghetto, and I would never recommend this to anybody, because why would I make a reservation and no one has any trucks available when this could have been made clear up front, and I could have went with a different company and saved a lot of time and frustration and money

This is not a specific review of Lake Auto Sales, but of the UHaul experience this time: UHaul moved my pickup location to a different address, further from my start spot. This location did not have the truck I reserved, and because of time constraints, I had to settle for a smaller truck. The truck was literally on empty and I had to put gas in it immediately. When I returned the truck,it was back on empty, but I was still charged a gas differential as well as an extra mileage charge. I should have received a $50 credit because my reserved truck was not available.

I called into the help line and the guy who helped me was amazing. I wish I would have left the review last night when I remembered his name. He helped me through the whole drop off process since my app and website weren’t working. Definitely give that guy a raise 👍

William BrillWhen I first arrived, even though I called before hand, Uhaul said that the location is open until 6:00pm, so I booked the 15’ Uhaul truck for 5:30pm, I arrived 5:34pm, and the place was closed! To my luck, some random mechanic was there working on an suv behind the building, and at first he acted the their closed & don’t have uhauls and that he doesn’t know how to do a uhaul check in, but then after like 10 minutes he did assist, which was very appreciated. Later on, I go out to take the Uhaul, and it is parked in reverse & glued to the damn fence, so I moved it a little and took pictures of the entire truck just so I wouldn’t be blamed for anything stupid. Next, alignment was awful, I need to drive with the steering wheel turned to the left literally to go straight, and the lights in the trunk did not work, I was blind moving things in & out. The handling of the steering wheel was very terrible, in fact dangerous and needs to be tightened. I definitely expect a refund for the multiple of inconvenience faced.

Susannah HallIf i set a reservation for a certain time,the rep needs to be on time opening up the store. And not having other random people doing the set up.. like the mechanic 🤦🏽♀️. And when i asked what time do u close so i can return the truck before closing , i was told one time and got back and they were closed! Then had to wait till Monday for them to check the truck and then finally bill me the final bill .

Alecia GerdineService and atmosphere at this location was sub par. I arrived on Saturday afternoon to pick up equipment, front door to the business was locked, around back, there were several people hanging around and strong smell of marijuana. I told those hanging around that I was there to pick up a trailer. I was told the person responsible was busy at the time. I waited in the parking lot for nearly 30 minutes. Loud and vulgar music was playing in the parking lot. I got in my truck and starting calling other uhaul locations to see if anyone else had a trailer as I was in doubt of this location. Guy doing the transaction finally came to my truck and was able to complete the transaction. Drop off at same location went much smoother. If I try to rent from uhaul again and this is the only available location, I will find another option.
