The man who worked the uhaul counter was rude and racist. When I arrived to pick up the truck at the scheduled time he was seated watching TV. He told me to wait while he watched an additional 10 minutes and than proceeded to assist me. He was rude and dismissive during the interaction. This facility was reported by the operator I booked with as a 24 hour facility however he also told me the location closed at 5pm and he'd be unable to accept the truck back the same day later that night.jamila M.

The worst experience with uhaul..the equipment I reserved was never put in truck so my move was a nightmare. No hand truck no dollies no furniture pads.I also hired movers through the uhaul website and the company had been closed for quite awhile so the day of my move I had to call around to hire other movers and have them bring the equipment I had reserved and not received. It cost me a lot more than it should have since it was last minute. Horrible experience will never use uhaul again and won't recommend to anyone as wellKYLE H.

I picked up a Uhaul van from this location and dropped it off at this very location. The man who initially processed my rental hopped into the van and asked me to drive one block down and make a left, then a right on to Park Ave to a secluded area (at night). He hopped out the car and I got out assuming he had to inspect the car/gas/mileage. Instead, he hopped into the car and told me to have a great night and drove off. I couldn't have been more frightened walking by myself back to the drop off location. Park Avenue is known for high crime and drug abusive activities. I finally walked to the location to ask them why would he drop me off there in which they were confused as well and called him to return. Upon his arrival, I told him how unprofessional it was to leave me there. He told me he was sorry and assumed I knew the location (whatever that meant nor do I know the relevance to his comment ). No part of me will ever rent from that location nor recommend to anyone. I hope that this review brings awareness to ensure the safety of customers is priority and prevent a potential danger from happening.Janice T.

For La Estrella -- Please make sure to clean the vehicles. My vehicle had visible dirt all over the floor and smelled weird. It was sticky throughout, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt that this was from sanitizer. If the customer gets in the vehicle and it doesn't smell like it has been cleaned, it's hard to believe it was cleaned. For U-Haul -- It is completely unacceptable to change someone's location to the Bronx last minute. For starters, you're sending people to an area where there is regularly crime -- like shootings and robberies. On top of it, I had to spend an extra $40 to get there in an Uber during covid, compared to the other location on Lexington Ave, which I could walk to. And worst, it wasted 2 HOURS of time to get there and back compared to the location I booked over a month earlier. Basically, the lack of forecasting put me at extra risk for getting covid, wasted money, wasted time, and brought me to an unsafe area.Meghan H.

For some weird reason the man in charge was super mean to me and unprofessional. When I got there right of the bat the said they didn't have any vans available and was really rude. I went online and reserved a van and showed that to him and he said that there were no vans again and was arguing with me. It felt like it was personal... horrible. I scheduled to pick up the Van at 8am. I got there and the lady serving breakfast was extremely rude so I called the number on my reservation receipt. He answered and said they open at 9am. (My reservation was 8am). I waited and when he finally came, he took his time to do whatever he needed to do before attending to me. The van he gave me had the engine light on, and the number plate was different from what was on my contract so I asked to change the Van. We went up and down before he gave me another van. This other van also had a different number plate than what was on the new contract. It took over an hour trying to get him to either change the number plate to reflect what was on my contract or update my contract to reflect the number plate on the Van. There was no way he was going to do the right thing. I had already wasted a lot of my time there so I had to eventually take the Van even though the number plate was different from what was on my contract. I wish you can investigate this malpractice to save the name of U-Haul!Baron A.

The Van was not ready on time. The Uhaul representative just didn't care. The van was extremely dirty. I had to take it as my appt was at 7 am and the van was given to me around 8:30. I called customer service to report my experience and was offered a $50 credit. I have not received that. When I was done with the van, the Uhaul representative didn't even say a word. The staff member was unprofessional. The wait was over in an hour and there was only 2 customers in front of me. The location did not have a dolly which I ordered. In addition, they did not have the truck that I ordered. And advised me to wait. I ended up getting a smaller truck. I will never use this location. It was the worse experience I had with uhaul. It made me not want to use the company moving forward. In addition, the representative was Hispanic. And helped all the other Hispanics and not me. Subsequently, when I brought the truck back the representative was not present. A teenage boy helped me. Will not refer to anyone.Dominique S.
The man who manages the rentals was absolutely horrible. He was late, then we had to wait for him to open the store gates (to his side only- the store was already open), move a scooter, walk to the back and then when I said something.. he finally booted the computer and we had to wait for him to do that. He ignored us (another customer waiting and I), briefly pretended to not understand English (so I spoke in Spanish and he just smiled), and finally when he did speak, it was abrupt and he threw the contract paper over the desk at me. The other guy waiting asked if there was more than one truck because we didn't see any and the man completely ignored him. This was not my chosen location. I do not believe he should run your U-Haul. Hated this whole experience. I normally chose U-Haul first but the last 2 experiences were not great at all.Jamilah H.

On 2/2/20 around 2:15pm I and my son and nephew was picking up a van at 2051 Webster avenue. My son and nephew stepped outside to get some air because the lady who work as cook was looking at them funny. All of a sudden a jeep pulled up and a guy stepped out of the car and started cursing at my son I went outside to stop the confusion but the started threatening my son's life. I hired three guys to load a haul van for me, I had asked the guys to be here by 8am. I reserved the van for 8am, not informed that this location doesn't open until 9am. Then at 10:10am the person that handles rentals ended up sending his 13 year old son to process the truck for me. Needless to say that I had to pay workers for two hours for sitting around. Horrible experience. I showed up to the restaurant and no one knew why we were there. Once I explained that we were there to pick up a UHAUL truck, the waitress then called someone else and when they got there they gave me another van than the one I paid for one. The side windows were also broken and it was hard to drive and the tank was not half full, it was at 3/8th so that's exactly how we returned it. When I was reviewing my receipt I noticed that the Juvenile behind the counter put on the paper that I was to return in 14 hours (9AM the next day) when I told him three times that I need the truck for 24 hours. I had to contact the restaurant and bed the guy to change it back to my original order. After a back and forth the guy changed it to 24hrs. It was horrible as they had no clue what was happening and made multiple mistake. I never go back there again and I don't recommend for anyone else to go their either.Philip R.

The app it's completely useless at this location. There was actually a discrepancy because the mileage an amount of gas in the car do not add up to my own calculations. The person who had to give me the vehicle had me waiting for over 30 minutes to arrive and pick up the vehicle who is parked in a parking lot off site. The dealer first gave our truck to another customer. They had to call him to bring it back. After that the system was so slow that it took them 45 mins to complete our pick up. Finally another location processed it and e-mailed the contract. The whole process from the moment we got to the location to driving the van was an hour. Needs a lot of improvement. I can't tell you what. Please go to this location and see it for yourselves. Moving is already stressful and shouldn't be made more stressful by U-Haul.Gulce A.
