Ensure gas station attendant at this pickup location knows how to work the app-based pick up process. -- it took an excessively long time for the worker to actually get me "ready" to leave after I had already devoted the time to complete the in-advance reservation to facilitate and speed the process.Matthew M.
Staff had to complete transaction on his cell phone; no computer involved. Not a problem except that due to probs with pages loading, he accidentally ended up charging me for the insurance that I did not need or want, and which he told me verbally would not be included (and which, BTW, I had declined online when making the reservation). I'll be working with corporate customer service to have this reversed, as it seems unlikely he'll be able to fix this at his end. Otherwise, super-convenient, super friendly, and equipment was as reserved.Deborah B.
First of all, I want to clarify that the customer service representative I worked with at this location was very helpful given the circumstances. The location and the representative were not the problem. The issue was that my reservation was moved from a location that was 2 minutes away, to a location that was 20 minutes away with less than an hour and a half of notice. When I arrived at this location, it seemed as if no one notified the representative on site about the change. In fact, the reservation didn't show up in the database. After waiting for a half hour, the issue was resolved, but I was informed I couldn't drop the van off at midnight as I had requested in my original reservation. This location does not have a key drop box, so I had to come back at 8:00 the following morning to return the key. The biggest issue is that I was using the van to transport music gear for a charity event at a local church. Because of the change in location and issues with the reservation system, I was over an hour behind schedule to set up for the event, meaning it started late. This not only reflected poorly on me professionally, but also meant one of the groups' performances was cut short. I've used U-Haul for similar events in the past, and have never had an issue like this before. The $50 refund for the reservation change was a nice gesture, but doesn't change the fact that this event was negatively impacted as a result of this scheduling mistake. I applaud the representative at KMG Petroleum for rolling with these last minute changes and adapting to a situation that was sprung on her. I am, however, hesitant to use U-Haul for future events if the scheduling system is this unreliable.Andrew W.
