OK Totally different experience. Extremely clean environment with a nice "small town" feel. The fellow who helped us went out of his way to make sure the drop off was easy and pleasant. I would recommend this location to anyone. Excellent experience.Wayne M.

Make sure someone is there that actually knows what they are doing. This uhaul experience was the worst experience I've had. We got there at 11 and didn't get our uhaul until 230Tristen J.

The person who helped me at the Keremeos location was great. Friendly, super helpful. (This review is being posted here because the main opportunity to review has "expired". Really? I just unloaded last night, slept and woke up to write a review and it is expired? This review reflects my whole Uhaul experience, not just this location. I picked up the truck in Summerland. The car carrier in Keremeos and was eventually asked to drop off the equipment in two different locations......now my experience.....) Sadly, no moving pads,in Summerland, which I had ordered online. I also decided on the spot to rent a dolly. No dolly. I had trusted Uhaul when I purchased 10 moving blankets online because I had family heirlooms and antiques to move 380 kms. I ended up using hand towels and diapers to pad the load. I had ordered a 10' truck weeks before. Uhaul's Website gave me a pop-up message that there was not a 10' truck but essentially that Uhaul was there for me and had my back. ( I was not too worried at the time. There are several neighboring cities like Penticton or Kelowna). Two days before my move I called Uhaul to add the car carrier that is suggested online for 79 dollars and up. The nice person was happy to take my order. ( It ended up being 186 dollars just for the car carrier...) I got a call on my voicemail later that day that there were no trucks and no car dolly's available but the message was unintelligible. I called back three times from work but was on hold so long that I had to go. I finally called a different Uhaul number and was comforted from the not so pleasant employee that I could relax because the number (Vancouver I think) was 24/7. I got home at 7:05 pm and called. It was closed. I went to their 1-800 number and got an employee 2000 miles away in a call center. They could see my order but had no information for me. I checked my email and WOW, Uhaul had notified me that they had a truck and car dolly for me. It would be ready for pickup the next day which was the date I had requested. This is where the real nightmare begins. The Uhaul they "reserved for me" was about 5 km's down the road from where I live in the lower mainland of BC. I couldn't believe it. That would mean that Saturday morning, I would drive 5 Km's with my car to Pitt Meadows. Rent the truck and car carrier. Load my car on the car carrier....and drive 380+ Km's to Summerland BC. Unload the car. Unhitch the car carrier. Load the Truck. Re-attach the car carrier. Re-load the car. Drive 380+ Km's back to Pitt Meadows....all within 24 hours and have the truck back by Sunday according to Uhauls "We got your back" policy!!! Oh, and according to that quote and those instructions, I would be paying additionally for every Kilometer driven above 400 so I would end up owing a huge bill on top of the ridiculousness Uhaul was suggesting. I did reach Uhaul the next day and asked, "Are you insane!!??". Uhaul did find me a truck in Summerland but it would be a 15' truck, not a 10' and of course I was given the 15' price with no concession. And by the way, there is no car carrier in Summerland but 60+ km's away in Kerimeos is the car carrier. Again no concession. As stated above, no blankets, no dolly in Summerland. After loading up in Summerland, we drove to Keremeos. The employees there were nice to me. However the trailer was no in what I would call "rentable" shape. The straps were encrusted and the strap ratchets were ceased with grime and dirt. An employee helped me for about a half hour with half a can of WD40 and tools to pry the ratchets loose. The Left taillight was broken and the right tail light had no turn signal or brake light. What was I to do? I am on the Hwy in the middle of nowhere and I have to get home. In the canyon I have no data service but that didn't stop Uhaul from getting a text to me to review the condition of the equipment...but I couldn't do that and by the time I could....I got "sorry the time window for you to do this has expired". Thanks Uhaul! In fact, all this is going here because most of the "tell us what you think" requests from Uhaul seem to "expire" really really fast. It's as if they hope you don't review. Of course once you unload your truck, you want to organize, not run to your computer before it's too late! I had to "reason" with the original Uhaul vender. I explained that it was UHAUL which ran me around. It was UHAUL which gave me 2 different pickup locations which were OVER 60 km's apart and that since I would be all the way in Keremeos, I would be forced to take another hwy back and that I needed more "courtesy" Km's free because it was no fair that I pay for Km's that were not my fault. They gave me 100 more "free" km's Later after a dangerous drive through the canyon with unsafe equipment, I got another text. The truck was to be dropped off in the Municipality of Port Coquitlam but the car carrier was to be dropped off in Port Moody! I tried to call but they close early on Sunday. Uhaul attempted to charge me a "25 or 29 dollar fuel charge" ( sorry, I forget which). The problem is that I returned the truck with more fuel than where I rented it from and had photos to prove it! Also, I did speak to the nice employee on the phone about my nightmare and they conceded to have me drop off the truck and car carrier at the one Port Moody location. That call was about 40 mins long. I would have preferred to drop them both off Sunday evening but I had the two destination message. I did get a phone call from Uhaul Monday morning. Not the management call I had requested to complain about the terrible service, booking, confusion, and safety issues. No!, it was Uhaul requesting that I get the truck back to the Port Moody location " because I have a customer here that has booked your Uhaul and is here waiting for it". BS! I first rented front that Uhaul location over 25 years ago. They are a major Uhaul location and have dozens of trucks. My point being is that Uhaul is wanting me to think about their poor next customer? What about me? I think Uhaul cares about making money and the hell with anything else. I made about a half dozen calls, a couple of emails, several texts, and received at last count, 18 texts from Uhaul. Most of the links where I have attempted to "review" the service have "expired". Pardon me, I just dropped off the truck yesterday! In terms of the employee who told me that when I booked, the website did inform me that no truck is available, I can tell you that I, just out of curiosity, booked a half dozen other "one way" trips from other cities. All but on gave me the same popup. As it turned out the 15' truck I rented in Summerland was parked beside the 10' truck I was told was unavailable. Personally I think Uhaul uses that popup, "truck may not be available" as a cover our butts coverall. I can't prove it but this has been a nightmare of frustration and double talk. Uhaul has reached out and given me 50 dollars off..."but that's it". Never mind the hassle, the fact that I paid the larger fee for the larger truck I didn't need, never mind that they wanted me to drive over hell's half acre to get the job done. Here's 50 bucks, go away. Are you kidding me? Buyer Beware!Don P.

I booked in Osoyoos, but I had to drive 30 minutes to pick up in Karemeos. Trailer was filthy on the outside and hadn't even been swept out. Then I asked if I could drop it off in Osoyoos. They said it would cost another $600. I live in Osoyoos and there is an agent there at Sierra self storage. That is where I stored my stuff. Why make it so inconvenient for me?ALLAN J.

The location itself and staff were fine, but being told the day before our trip we'd have to drive 2.5 hours ONE WAY to get the truck from Hope, AND NOT even have the car tow dolly available totally ruined all our plans. Not only did we have to leave work a full day earlier than planned to get the truck and inconvenience our employer, we had to work out a way for me ( a nervous inexperienced driver) to drive behind my husband for our 20 hr trip! I was in tears and I don't cry easily. We are in our 60s and have health issues...it was a mess. The stress this screw up caused was unforgivable. They didn't even have the moving dolly there...had to get it in Hope later. Jag, the man who had to tell us all the bad news was kind enough to give us a big discount which was very much appreciated... but this company makes promises it cannot keep. Beware of that fact.Peter F.

Truck was very old. This wasn't an issue from a reliability standpoint. The truck made the trip without breaking down but it sure made the drive far more stressful than necessary as the headlights, wipers and the ride quality were poor. The lack of power was also an issue. This is all in comparison with large Uhaul trucks I have rented in the past that were all later models.Jason T.
Booked weeks in advance and didn't get the truck size I needed and had to do extra trips costing me a crap load more money. What bull shitMichael N.

The o e guy was very unfriendly while the other guy was the one sitting g I. The cab watching the meter while I filled. Also I was told it's a 15 footer. Well when you get to the ferry it's a 22 footer. The lady at the ferry says this happens all the time . So why do t you just tell people what it really is. Next time it would be cheaper to buy my own van and resell when I'm finished.Teresa K.

To improve U-haul could maybe rent me a vehicle that is available at this location and not sent me an email 2 days before pick-up that I will be getting a different (bigger) truck. Luckily I was able to take time off work to drive this bigger truck because we attempted to rent a van so my wife was comfortable driving it, bigger truck ....not so much. When I picked the vehicle up I then had to clean it to feel comfortable driving it and also sweep out the back before I could place my stuff in the truck, very poor attention to detail. And hopefully you can teach the depot to check the vehicle back in when I return it so I don't get emails telling me to return the vehicle days later, anad having to explain to a U-haul rep that I did return it. I have to say this was the worst experience renting a vehicle I have ever had.Stanley T.

Owner operator, couldn't be bothered to reply my messages. Had to go in person to book vehicle, day of pick-up, he was 35mins late, meanwhile I had people waiting for me at my destination…very maddening. There's no transparency. The cost wasn't even listed anywhere at any time…when I did get the cost, 24.95 per day, then the list of extras came in …. Unbelievable!!!….. get your transparency together !!!ROBERT W.

The owner came from his home to assist, greatly appreciate that.John S.
I rented a 10 foot cube van to retrieve furniture from a retailer 30 miles away. I thought that, surely, I could deliver my own furniture cheaper than the retailer's own delivery service, I ended up paying more than the $100 that the retailer would have charged for their much bigger truck and their two person crew. Their fee would have included setting up the new furniture and disposal of my old furniture plus the packaging from the new stuff. Something is way wrong with your mileage rate for this vehicle if it cost me more than the retailer delivery fee.Raymond B.

I called to confirm the trailer 6x12 availability as I needed to take it to Vancouver to move my brother and then come right back. They confirmed it was going to be there so I booked it online. Checked in the day before online and no issues. Showed up at 7:00 on way to Vancouver to pick up and they said they didn't have that trailer. They said I should have received a call the day before but I didn't. I was very upset. The guy just said. Well...what do you want to do. I was forced to take the smaller 5x8 at regular price as my brother had an elevator booked and had to be out this day. We didn't not have enough room for everything and luckily could leave stuff at a friends until our next trip. I called the uhaul office and they did credit me $50 but was such a pain. Not sure I will book through them again.Alexander G.

Gas Tank was not full when truck picked up. Discrepancy between where gas guage pointer actually was between renter and sales person resulting in $35 gas charge for a travel distance of 8 mi. Even though I filled the tank to the position when I received the truck the rational was that I siphoned the gas out. This questioning of my honesty results in making U-Haul my very last resort for the next rental.RONALD B.

First trailer was very dirty and snow covered, the attendants could not pull it out of there yard. I had to retrieve it with my own truck. The lights didn't work on the first, so we had to hook up a second unit. We loaded the unit in Penticton and hauled it back to Coquitlam, everything that was at the rear door was soaked and dirty from road spray. A credit to my card is in order!!!THOMAS N.
This is a side business for them, and the general staff could be more willing to help. They defer everything to the owner, who is often not on site during business hours. I said yes to recommending them, as there is no other choice in this area, so I am grateful they are here. Just will know in future that I need to add an extra hour onto pickup time, and some onto drop off.Joanna M.

This comment has absolutely nothing to do with the apecific location i had to use just a general comment about uhaul. I am not likely to recommend to anyone to use uhauls services as they made my moving as stressful as you ever could. I did not appreciate the run around, lack of communication and just general poor customer service. Will not use or recommend againROBERT B.
