The gps did not recognize the address to the location, it took us to another business. Joyce and Steves country store was unknown by businesses around the area. The phone number provided by uhaul was to a fax machine. So it took us over an hour to track down where we needed to be. The address and telephone number need to be updated

We feel like we were shown the ole bait and switch. We reserved a uhaul truck in Arab which is less than 2 miles from our house only to have to drive 10 miles to pick it up. Then when you consider at a dollar a mile it cost us almost $20.00 extra than it should have. I blame uhaul for this not the place it was rented but we'll never rent from uhaul again.

Internet was down at store so the store person who was doing the reservation had to talk with Uhaul over the phone and I was told that the truck I upgraded to would only be twenty dollars more than the one I had reserved. He could not print a receipt but one would be emailed to me. The bill ended up being almost 100 dollars more than what he told me. The original sight I had chosen as a pick up site does not even have any Uhaul trucks any more. The person there told me they stopped renting trucks months ago, but yet they are still listed on the Uhaul website as a rental location. Whats up with that? Overall a horrible experience.

Get the truck closer to where the customer wants to pick it up. I live in Madison, AL and requested a truck from one of several locations in the city. Instead, I had to drive 60 miles round trip just to get the truck back to my house to pack. I was only going 100 miles to drop off but with the extra mileage involved in the pick-up I went over the limit and had to pay extra.

I was surprised that there was smoking allowed in the gas station where we picked up the U-Haul. My husband said that the truck was dirty. The contract was written wrong. My biggest issue was with the runaround that I received the day before when I called the original store where we had made our reservation in person to find out where and when to pick up our truck. Originally we had been told that we would be called by 6:00 p.m the day before the reservation to let us know when and where to pick up the U-Haul. We were not called, so I called the U-Haul store where we had made our reservation to inquire. After waiting on hold for nearly 5 minutes, I was told that I was being transferred to the regional office. After being on hold another 7 minutes, a woman answered the phone. When I asked if she knew how long I had been on hold, she said that she didn't know. I told her that I had been put on hold for 12 minutes. Instead of an I"m sorry, she simply said, "I am the only one working here." She then put me on hold again and another woman answered the phone, she put me on hold and then I was apparently connected to the gas station where we were to pick up the U-Haul the next day. He initially said that his computer was down and if I could call back the next morning. I said that I had already been on hold 14 minutes at this point and that no, I could not call back. Miraculously, his computer worked and he was able to tell us the place and time. Then he asked me how I had gotten his number. I told him that I had no idea since I had called the original store where we made the reservation and had been passed around after that.

Steve the owner was 2 hours late to rent the truck. The equipment was not there nor was the truck cleaned out red mud caked on the ramp and in the truck. I had to pay movers an extra 3 hours because of this delay.

The place was a dump. The apparent owner of the place asked me to back the trailer into a fairly tight space and did assist. Also, the place he wanted the trailer placed was dangerous. It was at the top of a slope. Also, he would not assist in unhooking the trailer which was heavy and very difficult. When my father and I did manage to get the trailer unhitched it almost got away from down the hill and into a mobile home at the bottom of the hill before we quickly got the wheel scotched and the trailer stopped. It was very dangerous the Uhaul/owner caused the situation and was useless, didn't seem to even notice what was happening, and unapologetic. He should not a Uhaul representative. The pickup was great the drop off was an embarrassment to your company.

U-Haul Corp. change of pick up location at last minute with only email notification was very disappointing. Relocated pickup location was 20+ miles from my home, I was very fortunate to be able to locate this trailer in Laceys Spring and request it instead.

The locations were excellent. My discomfort was in the way my reservation was transferred by U-Haul. I was not notified of the transfer of my pick-up site which was 20+ miles away from the orginal pick-up site. The customer should not be penalized for one-way rental.
