Thank god for JM Auto. The U-Haul in Niagara was very disappointing to deal with. I booked a trailer 2 weeks ahead of time and when I went to pick it up they said they had nothing for me and that my booking was cancelled. They wouldn't help me locate a replacement trailer. U-Haul Niagara is the worst.William M.
Make sure the equipment is maintained properly and don't keep giving people run around to different places to pick up the vehicle. Once a vehicle is booked it should be that person's three times my reservation got changed. And I picked up my truck in Port Robertson and I had to go to Etobicoke to get my car haulierWendy A.

Was a hassle to do the online pick up took almost and hour out of our truck rental time just to get thr truckAdam B.
Renting the truck at the hasty market location in welland on Niagara St was very stressful. The gentleman didn't pay attention to us was paying attention to his other customer in the variety. Did not ask us about insurance or even explain it. Put the wrong person down as driver. Then we recieved a call the Friday before our Sunday pickup telling us we had to pick up the truck Sat instead of the Sunday we booked or they would not guarantee it!! We booked a month in advance. Was not at all impressed. Then our pick up was awful, a field manager had to come out to our local and help us theough the "virtual"pick up and then ended up cuttting a key because no one left one there for us! The field manager Mike was great! Thank goodness for himDALEE E.
I have never dealt with a less professional company in my life. This process started with getting a trailer hitch on my vehicle. I purchased the equipment and booked the installation online and that process was very smooth. Two days before I was supposed to have the hitch installed I got a call saying my parts have arrived and asking to book an appointment for installation. I had done that already when I bought the hitch. I was told that people who ordered parts before me had taken my installation time. So we booked for the following week. The very next day I get a call saying, your parts are in and we need to book an installation time. I told them I had done that the day before after some searching they confirmed the appointment for the following week. A few more days passed and I received another phone call about the installation. My appointment had been booked for 12pm and I was asked about dropping the vehicle off at 9:30 in the morning. I had booked a time for 12pm because I was working that morning. I was told that was fine. A day or two later I got a call again about the installation confirming that I was dropping off the vehicle at 9:30 am ... That was not what was arranged just the previous day. So I rearranged my work schedule and asked how long the install would take. I was told about three hours. So that day arrived for the install. I arrived at 9:30, dropped off the vehicle, asked again how long the install would take and told again 3 hours. I had arranged for someone to pick me up and bring me back in 3 hours. 3 hours later I returned and my vehicle had not touched. I asked why and there had been some miscommunication about when they actually would be starting my vehicle. Frustrated, I returned home expecting to have my wife drive me back that evening to pick up the vehicle. At 5pm I got a call saying they were just looking at my vehicle and could not do the install due to an issue with the parking brake. I had not been advised to be sure that was checked before coming in to get the hitch installed. The tech said maybe there was something he could do there and put me on hold for a minute came back and said he resolved the issue and could install the hitch after all. I was confused but relieved. At that point we had to decide to continue the install the following day. They kept the vehicle there overnight and expected to be able to start on it at about 9:30am. At 2:30pm I had not been contacted so I called to see what was going on. The tech told me he was just about to call me to let me know the car was ready. So we headed back to pick up the vehicle. When we arrived the hitch was installed but the receiver and ball that I had ordered had not been assembled and not even been selected or properly sized for the vehicle. 35 minutes later we finally were done and on our way home. This was all to be able to rent a trailer to take for an 8 day period. I called to book a cargo trailer to rent. I was unable to do this online for more than 24 hours although the utility trailer had the option for multi-day rental. I was told someone would contact me with-in 2 days to confirm the booking and location for pick up. Several days later I still had not received any confirmation so I called to try to get some information. After waiting on hold for over 10 minutes I decided to try emailing to get a response. The following day I did receive a call with confirmation that I would have a trailer to rent but they were not sure what trailer or where I would need to pick it up but they would call me 2 days before the rental day to let me know. I wasn't going to hold my breath. 2 days before the rental I got an email confirming I had a trailer to rent. The email only listed the city I was to pick up the trailer and not the u-haul location. I called the number on the email for support to try to find out where I would be picking up the trailer. The person I spoke with could see the rental booking but not the location and said that since I got an email it must have been through a different department and I would have to call a different number. I call the second number. I was put on hold after 35 minutes on hold (it seemed like I was being bounced from person to person with no one actually talking to me) I finally got through to someone. Again I was told I needed to talk with a different department. I told them I had been on the phone for 40 minutes by this time and I didn't want to be transferred again. This agent spoke to the other agent first to be sure they could help me and then transferred me over. Finally someone who could help. They told me I could pick it up in Niagara Falls. Now during my time on hold I decided to do the online check in and had just completed before talking to this representative. I had actually found the pick up location and it was different than what I was just told. Confused, I asked for clarification and was told oh sorry you are correct, pick up the trailer at the location you see on your screen. After all this I was unsure if there would be a trailer for me to rent when I arrived however there was and the pick up went smoothly. I confirmed the 8 day rental I had previously arranged. All seemed well. The following night I got a call that I was supposed to have the trailer returned and the next customer was waiting for it. I explained I had rented the trailer for 8 days and was 5 hours away with the trailer at that point in time. They checked something on their computer and said oh yes I see that here now â€¦ sometimes this happens that is why I didn't yell at you when I left a message. I had appreciated not being yelled at ( I have no idea under what circumstances being yelled is appropriate ) If there was a different company that rented this equipment out I would choose them but there is not u-haul is the only option. I heard the statement once that if you are the only taco stand in town your tacos don't have to be that good. I guess this is the situation hereColin M.

I had to park and unhook the trailer myself. They were too busy to check me in and told me just to leave. Your office had to call me the next day to confirm I had, in fact, returned the trailerDave M.
Rented a 26 ft for one way trip, had help aligned for the day of my move. Ended receiving a 20 ft as they did not have a 26ft, got offered 400km in the one way rental. But nothing else. My helping hands was unable to support me the following day had to extended another 2 days, and ended up using over 150 km more as a result of extra trip. Plus more gas!!!! Way too expensive compared to what I had planned just as a result of not getting my confirmed rental of a 26ft truck. Very disappointing. Should have had the extra miles and days waived as it was a result of a situation not of my fault. I already had to pay for extra charges for help and Gas.Daniel O.
