First truck had check engine light on, second truck smelled like pee and had dog hair all in the cab and dog slobber on the door glasses. The wiper blades on the second truck were worn out and useless, the trucks do not have cruise control. Be a cold day in hell before I use them again.

Overall very friendly place. The staff and all patrons all seemed like family. Numerous patrons came in concerning other matters and everyone was pleasant and nice. Staff was really helpful and made the experience much nicer than I’ve had during previous rental locations.

Over 60 miles from where I requested. When I got there nothing was ready. After the trailer was put on the truck I was left to figure out how to put the car on the trailer.

Should not have gone to this location. Traveling an hour to pick up a truck was was completely inappropriate. Changing the pick up location repeatedly was grossly unprofessional. Very bad experience but not the fault of the Farmville location.

This place is terrible. they charged me for a late fee which never existed, i returned the truck 24 hrs ahead of time. When I called to see why they did that I was informed that my contract had been closed out and there was no record so they had to call me back. they called back and said it was a mistake on there part someone didn’t realize blah blah. I then called and spoke with Wes Pitts the District Manager for the Farmville area, who said that he will process the refund and it would be back into my account within three days, he gave a reference number but this was all complete BS. this all started on Monday June 3rd and i have made multiple phone calls to the the uhaul company 6/5, and today for the third time 6/7 and for the third time nothing has been resolved no money refunded into my account. This is very unprofessional, and you do not play with people’s money like this. I will no longer be doing business with you guys, if i do not get my money back this will become a BIGGER PROBLEM than it is NOW

I used the online phone application to return my rental truck. I returned my equipment 21 hours before I originally estimated. I was allowed to return the truck and was never made aware during the process that I would be charged the full amount anyway. Why would they not make the customer aware before returning early? I would have just kept the truck if I knew this was the policy. This experience seemed dishonest. Other rental truck companies charge for TIME USED. I will never use UHAUL for anything in the future.

The initial pickup was ok, I wanted to use a location that was closer but this was the only location that had a 15' truck, that said, I used it 1 day, when I requested it for a second day I was told they needed it back by noon, so I brought it back on time. I was subsequently charged for another full day of use that I didn't get, but had requested. I wouldn't recommend them because if you arent letting me use it for the full work day then I should have been prorated. On top of that several friends told me usually the trucks are brought to a nearby Uhaul and your supposed to be able to return them to any official Uhaul rental, I was told it had to be returned to the point of origin. Avoid using them if you can. Pretty dissatisfied, next time I'll just keep it until I'm done with it.

Get more trailers. I booked a month in advance and it was certain there would be a trailer at that location. Once last year I was forced to travel a long way to get a trailer I reserved. This time it was there when needed.

The vehicle was dirty and smelled like livestock! Rocks were all over the back of the van and scratched my furniture. The smell was awful and the proprietor said it was new car smell. No it really wasn’t. I had to pay for almost 60 extra miles just to pick up and drop of the vehicle. Had a reservation for 8am. Facility didn’t open until 9. It took over45 minutes to get the app to function and get the rental code. Finally got the code and the box was empty. The proprietor showed up since it had been an hour dealing with this and was able to located the key. Drop off was just as bad. I uploaded my mileage and fuel and pic about 20 times before it was accepted. They got a summary bill for $17,000! Evidently U-Haul believes i drove 68,000 miles in 6 hour! Yup had to start all over again! Check out took another 30 minutes of my life I can’t get back. I will never do this again.

There was no indication as to where to put returns. It is a very small space They haveall theses non smoking signs but employees smoking in and out side out building. Not a very professional operation but unfortunately the only one we have Management not very friendly or helpful

I originally rented a truck from Green Mountain Country Store, Scottsville, VA on February 9. A few days before my pick up, which was scheduled for Saturday, March 2nd I was told by HP (Green Mt Country Store) my location had been moved to A1 Motors in Charlottesville, which is an hour 15 minutes from my home. I NEVER received a phone call, text message nor email to tell me of this change. If i hadn't called before my scheduled pick up I would have found out the ,day of my move, which I don't need to say how terribly difficult and stressful moving can be all by itself; I didn't need added stress and HP didn't seem concerned at all, not even an apology for my trouble as Scottsville is only 30 minutes away which is why I chose that location. But wait, it gets even better. My location was moved from A1 Motors to Avon Motors to Carterfield Sporting Supply. I asked to speak to the manager at UHaul, John Sjostrom to discuss this total inconvenience and lack of professionalism and changing my pick up location so many times to places that were over an hour away. I finally found JJ's Best Buy in Farmville VA, 45 minutes away. When I was speaking to Tonya in scheduling and told her about that location, her reply was she didn't know about that one nor the other two UHaul locations in Farmville! BTW, Tonya was wonderful. She gave me 40 extra miles for all my trouble and I know she felt my pain from all of this and was very compassionate. Tommy was the one that arranged my pick up at JJ's and was also very nice. I had to find this location, talked to Missy at JJ's who was WONDERFUL AND AMAZING!!! She reassured me everything would go smoothly at her location and was there to greet me with a smile and so much compassion, warmth and GREAT customer service she deserves an award! She was the brightest spot in a very difficult rental. Bottom line, you guys need to communicate much better between yourselves, those who represent UHaul, whether its a gas station, hardware store, sporting supply, anything renting UHauls. It was like a comedy of errors except it was at my expense and I wasn't laughing. I truly hope you read this through and take action because you need a lot of improvement customer service wise. And that manager, John Sjostrom needs some customer service training! How he is a manager I'll never know; rude and indifferent doesn't make a manager! Thank you, Florence Cristelli

UHall sent me to 3 locations - although they had confirmed my rental would be available close to my house. I had to drive over 45 miles each way out of the way. The location that finally had my equipment was not clean - had a non-smoking sign on the front door but one of the employees came in and lit up while I was being waited on. There was NO PARKING for me to leave my car so I could use the truck. Will not soon use UHaul again!
