The truck was destroyed. The inside was filthy and we had to clean it out before we could even use it. It leaks really bad and our stuff was all wet. The location was not friendly. Bad experience overall.James S.

I had an accident leaving the parking space. I immediately called Uhaul and was told that I would be emailed an incident report. That never happened. I also reported the accident in the app when I returned the vehicle. I was then charged $800 in damages and accused of a hit and run when I very clearly reported the accident to Uhaul. My understanding is that I paid for insurance, then I was told that it didn't cover this accident. The insurance options were not made clear to me when I booked the reservation. Clearly I have no say in the matter as my card was just charged $800. A phone call or a conversation would have been nice rather than a surprise charge and accusation of a hit and run. I was never told by Uhaul that I needed to file a police report or speak to someone at the location.Roland W.

The equipment condition issues were not evident until part way through the rental period. The truck windshield leaked excessively into the cab from the lower center dashboard area (it was puddling on top of the dash area and spraying on the driver), and the cargo bay leaked as well - contents on the RH side of the floor was wet.DWIGHT W.

My only issue with this location is they're not open on Sundays and Mondays. My original pick up drop off was open those days but it was switched by UHaul and I had a difficult time returning the truck via my phone . Jen was great, but the Uhaul Rep that I spoke with at the initial booking of the truck , some how did not put the proper order in and when I return the truck it become a hassle. I did not know that the store was closed on Sunday and the uhaul/online return process did not recognize that I was returning the truck it took me 35 minutes to get a rep on the phone to tell me that order was put in wrong. Jen's Furniture I do recommend but I do think that it would be helpful if they discuss returning equipment on Sundays. The whole verification code drop box is a bit confusing to someone who's never used it. They was also another customer there to pick up a truck Sunday morning who had to use the pin/ drop box and he was very confused we manage to work his problem out but mine was still going on.Devin E.
I was given a return location that was not the closest to me. When I set up my reservation I provided the location that was less than 2 miles from my destination. When my pick up location got changed so did my return location. While the return location was very professional and friendly, I had to drive or 10 miles out of my way to return the trailer.Frank B.

I just needed a 10' truck for 24 hours. I walked in to their office about noon on 10/9. They said if I rented a 10' had to be back by 8 am. I needed truck for 24 hours so they offered the next biggest truck(15') and instead of 19.99 charge they charged me 29.99. Oh here's the kicker they charged me an additional $14 for the insurance which I didn't authorize. They were deceptive in hiding that charge as nothing was printed at day of purchase. They said they couldn't print anything out just an email which went to my wife's email account as I don't have email. So jens furniture on reading road in Cincinnati ( the uhaul dealer )overcharged me $25 and like I said it was deceptive to begin with the up charge on insurance that I didn't authorize, why would I having drove it a total of 2 miles. Misleading and deceptive calling better business bureau. Tired of people always wanting to deceive you and hidden chargesMichael F.

This particular rental was for the use of cleaning, clearing out my mother's house! Sue passed away on the 4th of October, and we literally just laid her to rest, on 7 Jan 2019, at the Veterans Cemetery. The initial phone call to the Rental agency in Reading, Jens Furniture/ Reading Uhaul center well my God what a super pleasant experience! The kindness shown to me, the professionalism, prior to renting, during, and after the return was tantamount to be as Christ like as the scriptures say... Do unto others as you would have other do unto you! 10 stars.. Thanks so much i really appreciate everythingjennifer M.

Clerk did not wear a mask. Didn't see him sanitize any of the trucks on return, either. If you rent during Covid, be prepared to sanitize everything yourself. Online check-in froze up and didn't work, so we had to go inside and re-do the entire reservation. defeating the purpose of "contactless" rental. Do better, Uhaul.ERICKA M.

Please do not tell customers - me- that I can return the U-Haul truck on one way trips to ANY U-Haul. It cost me an additional hour and 20 miles which otherwise would have been a 20 minute drive and I would have been there when they were open instead of getting there at 7:04 pm. When we went to the ACE Hardware on County LIne and Sunbury Rd we were told it would cost us double to drop off there and they get told that all the time that someone tells them they can return anywhere, and it is not true.Jennifer M.
The woman who helped me was very nice, Having said that, we are in the midst of a pendemic. She had her mask below her nose, which is not helpful at all. Not one other person in the store was wearing a mask. At least 3 other employees and one customer. I felt very unsafe. She checked me out and pointed me in the direction to my truck. The employees at check in counter were not friendly or accommodating. They called me and told me that they needed the truck back for other customer before I was finished with it. And upon returning they tried to charge me over $200 for one day rental and 9 miles driven. After a couple minutes of back and forth between employees they found the employee to check in the truck last didn't put the correct mileage. I'm glad I took pictures of the mileage and condition of the truck before I left the lot upon picking up. I will NOT be going back to this location for U-Haul rentals. The online reservation process and everything from â€œU-Haulâ€ was great. I would like to know more about the no contact check in/ checkout. But JENS furniture store was poor.Matthew L.

The employee did not wear a mask as required by the Governor , the truck had a cover on the drivers seat that kept coming off. Returning the truck I could not find anyone in the store again no mask then he went the wrong direction to check in my truck this took about 10 minutes I had to explain to 2 other people that I did not work their and I had no idea where the employee went. When I asked about the charges he could not find the receipt and told me it would be sent to my email,Mark A.

The employees tried to be as helpful as possible. So I hesitate to give the individual locations such a poor review. That being said, I have never had a good experience with U-Haul. I never receive the truck that I have reserved. Typically I end up with a smaller truck due to inventory issues. In this instance I did not get a truck at all because the previous person never returned it. I should have been notified prior to me wasting time on my move in day to drive and pick it up. Eventually I was given a replacement truck, but waiting and driving back to the store to pick up the truck set me back 2 to 3 hrs.Jalen H.
I was contacted by your traffic control the day before the rental at about 6:30pm. I was told by text to contact you urgently about my rental. I was on hold for 1.5 hrs total (disconnected twice after 30 min each). I never was able to speak to someone until I tried at 6am the day of the rental. Very poor customer service. I will look for alternative companies in the future. Also I tried live chat in your website no one responded I gave up after 40 minjoel S.
If you need a truck, you can get one there. However, they do not clean their trucks, it's in and out as soon as the trucks are returned. I only had a 1/4 tank of gas, so it was a good thing I wasn't going far. I reserved the truck for 2 hours (8:30 to 10:30), but because the lady was busy with 2 customers before me I didn't get the keys until after 9. I received a text telling me that I had less than an hour to go at 9:45. I called and reminded her of the time when I got the keys. I returned the truck by 10 thankfully with no problem.
