I had to drive all the way to this location from my home in Minneapolis, MN (a 3 hour round trip) early in the morning and while the movers were at my home, so it was very inconvenient. I had reserved a trailer a month in advance and was told that I would have one waiting for me at a location in Hudson, WI (still a 1.5 hour drive for me, but closer than Menomonie, WI) but then 2 days before I was told there was no longer one there. Very disappointing. I have since learned that uhaul does not guarantee the location of the rental pickup, only that you will get your rental, or in my case a similar rental (my trailer size was changed because the original one I reserved was all the sudden unavailable). Making people drive 3 hours during winter and into another state in order to get a trailer seems ridiculous for a huge nationwide company such as uhaul. And I was in a huge city (Minneapolis/st. Paul), not a rural small town where that might be understandable. You’d think there would be plenty of availability in a city of that size.

You can actually have a rental available at the location and time originally booked. My husband and I experienced a nightmare of difficulties when trying to use UHaul. Not only was our rental not avaliable at the time confirmed, there were not trucks available within our pick up time or location. We added an additional 2 hours to our drive time in order to use Uhaul for our move. I will NOT be recommending UHaul to anyone and will be more then willing to share why. The only silver lining of our entire experience was that Courtney (scheduling manager) was able to find us a truck that would work and ensured that we did not pay for the extra mileage.

I had reserved online and 45 minutes before I am suppose to pick up the trailer and 24 packing blankets, they call and tell me that they only have two blankets, which I was billed for but was never given. When I opened the trailer it did not appear to have been steeped out. The guy was really friendly but I am disappointed that the reservation system was not more up to date on inventory item such as packing blankets. I had to scramble to find blankets to use for moving.

Why havent you asked me to rate your scheduling bullshit? I had to drive 2 hours out of my way to get this trailer. I was supposed to have 10 blankets and a 20% discount. I got neither. I want my money back.

I set up my reservation to leave the uhaul in Oshkosh wi where I was moving. I was told that I couldn’t do that and they needed the truck for tomorrow. Even though down the road there were 5 trucks of the same type in the lot. Annoyed that I was charged an extra $180 to bring back their truck.

It was only excellent since the owner was there and was able to hand me the key. I tried using the Uhaul app to get the vehicle on a Saturday. (Forced to do so by Uhaul since original location did not have my truck). Anyways, all worked out just fine, but I had no luck using the Uhaul self check in app.

I have a very specific complaint about the U-Haul service which has NOTHING to do with the nice fellows at J&L Auto Repair. I ordered online to pick up a trailer and a dolly, and my order was confirmed by your site. The location, as it turns out, does not have any dollies or any equipment. When I called the U-Haul number, I was told that no location within 75 miles had one. The big problem with this is, I have some heavy furniture to move with only myself to do it. I NEEDED a dolly, and was counting on one to move out of my apartment within the deadline. I had to go and BUY one for $130 to avoid paying fees. Again this has nothing to do with the service at J&L, nor with the person I spoke to. They did give me $10 off my rental, but the dolly I needed, and COUNTED ON, cost far, far more than this. This has been an incredible failure by the software which allowed me to rent a dolly when one was not available. Thanks a lot.
