I took out my truck at 3/4 full. They were all nuts about me bringing it back at the same level. I stopped at the gas station right before I returned it and got it over the 3/4 mark. The location then charged me $21 extra for gas. They are cheaters.Gary F.
This was the third location I was given by U-Haul after the first â€œwouldn't have the equipment I reserved,â€ and the second had sent theirs in for repairs. I needed to do the 24/7 online check in and check out situation, but on arrival, the app said this business had not assigned me a specific vehicle and I needed to go in. Well they weren't open, so I called the number. The woman was very rude blaming me for not being able to complete the check in online. Once she approved it on her end she told me to go find the lock box and use the code she told me. It was a super unusual lock, and the combination wasn't working. She argued with me over the phone, finally FaceTiming me to see the lock. It was such a wonky lock. Even though the letters were lined up correctly, it wouldn't unlock. First letter needed to be slightly higher, 3rd slightly lower, 4th above the line. So frustrating. Finally opened and I got on my way, but there was no need for that to be so difficult. I recommended they get newer reliable locks. I'm also displeased that I had to adjust my reservation twice because of U-Haul's errors, resulting in a location so far out of the way.Jennifer T.

My issue was with the website picking up and returning my truck. The â€œlocationâ€ never worked even when I did the steps to allow it to track me. Picking up I was able to scan the code on the door. Dropping off it didn't give me that option and couldn't locate me. I had to just leave the keys and not finish my return steps on the siteâ€¦ and I got charged for a whole extra day even when I had the truck back on time. Quite frustrating to deal with..Jessicca R.

The location was fine. I would not recommend UHaul because of the extra charges we were billed for were ridiculous. We had the van for less than 48 hours, picked it up late on Monday afternoon (apx 5:00 pm) after the office was closed. We returned it on Wednesday at apx 2:30 in the afternoon. Yet we were charged for 3 FULL DAYS. Then I was billed for extra toll charges when we had our own I Pass with us that paid all tolls. This van cost way more than what was represented to us and I will NEVER use Uhaul again. Very disappointed.Martha C.

Our experience was absolutely aweful. Less than 10 minutes from picking uo the truck is stalled blocking the street. My 12 year old son and I had to push it out of the way while wife called for support. The Uhaul representative deferred all responsibility to my wife and told her to call roadside assistance and ultimately hung up on her leaving us with no support and no working truck. All of this while all of our belongings were on our front lawn waiting to be loaded and moved to our new home. When roadside assistance was finally reached it took the 8 hours to show up despite notifications stating they were 90 minutes away. During that time we were able to procure a Penske truck that worked and complete our move. We will never use Uhaul again. If you want to add stress to a move Uhaul is your company. Next challenge will be getting our money back. The Jam.Automotive contact we had was awesome and was able to assist.Jayson O.

The only bad thing is that they add you the $14.00 insurance coverage without asking you. Very upsetting and when you complaint to uhaul about it they only return me the money once but not the second time. I didn't even know I had insurance and I feel they should start asking if you want it.YESENIA O.

Picking up and returning the truck was a NIGHTMARE! JAM AUTO was very rude and didn't seem to know what they were doing! I opted for the online process because the last time I used it(through CHADS TOWING), it was a breeze! For whatever reason, JAM AUTO, called me with an attitude claiming that they needed my credit card information to rent the truck, in which I had already provided online and it was accepted!(I'm now awaiting a double charge on my account) When I got there, the keys were under the floor mat because they had left for the day! She told me on the phone that isn't was Friday and they wanted to leave early for the day and did not want to wait for me because I was running less than ten minutes behind because I had to pick my son up from the PHP program at the hospital and got stuck in bad traffic on the way because of an accident. When I returned the truck after hours, they didn't have the return sticker posted in their window to scan or a drop box for the keys! We had to wait almost 40 minutes to get ahold of a UHAUL representative on the phone to figure out what we were to do! Although the UHAUL representative was very friendly, I am upset that we didn't get any type of compensation for the inconvenience! It had been a long day! We we're moving furniture as a two man team for hours! We were tired(after working out 9-5 already!) **"WE FINISHED EARLY AND WEEE WANTED TO GO HOME FOR THE DAY!"**I've used UHAUL several times, and this is the very first time that I've had an issue! I feel there was a lot of unprofessionalism and neglect on the behalf of JAM AUTO. They are not helping the UHAUL brand make a good name for itself. It's a good thing that I have been a long term customer and am not a first timer...That may have affected my opinion on the UHAUL brand...Jessica C.

This was most worst experience of renting a Uhaul from a dealer that I have ever endured . This place was by far very yet very unprofessional.... I encountered such horrible stress with this dealer I would never recommend them to anyone who is looking to rent a Uhaul!!! Approval of s driver should be done prior to them getting there if you sometimes experience long wait times. I waited in an empty parking lot by myself for 25 during this process and 20 minutes of that was me waiting to be an approved driver. It wouldn't let me start this process until my GPS showed I was at the location. It was not an area I wanted to be standing in alone for something that could of been avoided.Jennifer B.

I reserved my reservations on line at the location in Streamwood on Rt20 This is the second time Uhaul had baited and switched my reservation this will never happen again.!!!!!!!! I was promised 2 furniture dolly's. I even confirmed that they were there before picking up my truck and they were not there. The u-haul app was having so many issues that I couldn't use it to pick up my truck so THANKFULLY one of the employees at the location hadn't left and was able to give me my truck. They need more people who know how to operate the front desk. The one woman called me from home because she was sick and kindly gave me instructions for doing everything online. She gave me get home number so I wouldn't lose my truck! She was great, but the other people there have no clue what's going on!Valencia H.
when i arrive it was just a small sign of uhual the guy inside connect me to a person on the phone that took 20 minutes to get me the dolly when i finally got ready he just walk me out i had to move my own car i had to chain it right becouse he didnt want to under my truck the safe chain wasn't on the right way i had to drive alway to my destination without break signals or any becuse he said it didn't have where to conect it and when i went under to check where to conect them he left and i left the place whi out break lights or signalsmarco S.
My husband and I just moved in September and used used U Haul for all of our moving we rented the big truck twice and a small truck and three trailers when I went yesterday I asked for a discount of some source but they never when attempted to look into it for me when you have loyal customers I think they deserve a discount. Left a few items in truck behind driver's seat. Awaiting to see if they can find them. Overall service was good. Just wish Uhaul would give extension without paying due to weather conditions. Michigan had sub zero temperatures and the truck was just sitting at my home. Unable to load it as wind chill factors were below zero.KATHERINE C.

No one was ar desk. Door locked when I went to pick up. Drop off, no one in office for 20 min. Finally found someone and was told to just leave keys. Dont know what I was charged or if they knew what time i returned vehical. Also, when I finally got into truck, check engine light was on and oil light was on. I went in and told they guy who gave me the keys and he came out and filled it with oil stating it was still a quart low but he was out of oil. Yikes! Your pricing is outrageous! The trailer brakes (hydraulic surge) would jam up. Causing frustration to unjam and continue on my 1850 mile odyssey. For what you charge to rent and the quality of the equipment, I would buy a new trailer and sell it when done. Your truck prices were absurd, so I bought a used van for as much as you rental rate. I have sold the van for a profit. Never again uhaul crap.brain R.

We had a horrible experience with UHaul. The truck wasn't at the original location, so the rep found us a new location. Drove there and when driving the truck it died 4 times!!! While we were driving! Very dangerous. Only to get billed today and charged for safety coverage we didn't ask for. Not worth the hassle..... disappointed.Michael W.

$19.95 per day but it's not a day, a day has 24 hours, I went to rent a moving truck and like around 10:00 am and it said $19.95 per day and I returned around 5 pm same day and they overcharged me so I just had to pay $80 dollars totaljesus C.
We returned the car after hours, but the lock-box where you drop the keys off was broken (it just hung open and would not close). We had to rope it together with a thin branch in the hopes that no one would steal the keys and take the u-haul to our detriment. Luckily, nothing bad happened.Diana Y.
This location just became an agent for your company and there was very little or no training. Agent had to call for help and simple pick up took over 45 minutes and I was the only customer there! Also the trailer was not at the location reserved and I had to drive over 30 miles extra.Chris A.
This rental experience was superior in every way from the initial call on the same day of rental with nothing available but the person called another location near by and it was close by our storage unit. Jam Auto Rebuilders location was extremely wonderful to us and I will recommend to everyone .
