The self-serve check-in and out via U-Haul app was cumbersome. It kept deleting my images. Gave up after the third time and went inside. Friendly staff.

They charged me with more than the kilometers I used as well as the fuel. I won't recommend it to my friends because they are not honest with the van rental rates and poor customer service.

This was supposed to be a 24/7 truck pick up. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle it was NOT staged, the keys were not ready and I had to wait an hour and a half PAST the agreed upon pick up time before someone was physically available to assist. I was told this location does not offer 24/7 pick up even though I was able to arrange it online. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!

Fill the vehicle with fuel. I’m sure you charged the last person to fill it and the partial fill is a pain for the next renter to guess how much fuel is required

We booked a truck down the street from our home. The night before we were sent confirmation for another location 40 km away. Reserved a storage space for us when we didn’t order it. We thankfully bought insurance for the trip and then they charged us over $350.00 for damages - chipped windshield and sent in hubcap. We are fighting this charge. And we were charged for supplies we didn’t order. We had this reversed yesterday. Last issue will be to deal with damages claim and get refunded over &350.00. If you have to rent one, review your bill. I felt liked I was being ripped off one thing after another. Terrible experience.

The staff fraudulently added a damage charge with a report showing it happened after we turned it in AND we had paid the damage waiver fee. Customer service was not able to help at all.

Actually set up the mobile check in so people don’t have to actually wait until the store opens. Defeats the purpose of 24/7 mobile check in. We had to wait 2 hrs and that really messed up our first day and no one at U-Haul over chat or the phone could explain why. Nor could the agent who checked us in 2 hrs later. No very helpful.

There was confusion as the vehicle I ordered was not there on pickup. They gave me a larger rental at same price. Then I started getting messages telling me to go to a Halifax address for pickup of a van but I already had a truck!! Confusion

Fuel reading was taken incorrectly and I was charged 17 liters of fuel!! After 6 days, nobody refunded me or even contacted me to apologize. Worst service ever

Everything was fine with the rental until I returned it. I left the keys with the person at the desk and he said I was good to go. Later the night I received an email saying they were charging me $308 for a dented wheel housing. That small dent was already there before I rented the van. I was shocked to see this charge. I went back the next day and asked to see the dent because I was so shocked and the person there couldn’t believe I was charged for it. He even said that dent was already there when I rented the van.

there was no clear sign about where to go, I called your customer service and they pointed me to a door that was closed, I spent 10 min looking around and asking Ikea employees until one of them was able to help me out.

Technical difficulties at point of sale. Lower level staff should be equipped with more information (account numbers, etc) should they need to contact tech support. Overall good experience!

Ikea location was lovely -- basically an Ikea living room where you sat to complete the rental process - a delightful surprise! EXCEPTIONAL customer service provided by Leigh! She thoroughly explained all aspects of the rental in a very straightforward manner including the customer (me) in all aspects of the process. Amazingly friendly and personable - thanks Leigh for making the process so easy!. On a side note - this location doesn't have the usual moving supplies (boxes, tape, etc) which wasn't a problem for me but may be for some.

App was buggy and I ended up having to ring customer services to get and return my keys. I lost over an hour of my day. Key boxes were covered in bird pooh!

No one in the store knew that my rental vehicle was behind the store. Three separate employees that I asked had no idea that u haul even services this location. It took me over an hour to find the vehicle, and I almost gave up and left. Please educate the Ikea staff that there is a uhaul pickup location behind the store so the next person doesn't go through what I did.

The lockboxes were lying on the ground as the aluminium poles had been snapped off. The lock on my box was extremely hard to open... it took me 15 minutes of frustrating work. Also, the wheel wells in the storage compartment of the van were big and in the way... could not lay a queen sized box spring down flat back there. I also encountered a problem with checking the van back in online (as no one was at that site). The problem was that the process just stopped at a page that said for me to have a safe trip home so I left.... not realizing that the van had not been checked back in. This was resolved the next day by a kind staff person.

The IKEA location is fairly remote, so most of my kilometer expense was gained by going back and forth to the location. Could there be some kind of adjusted rate to compensate for customers who need to travel a long way? Uploading images through the UHaul App was a complete fail, but telephone customer support was very helpful. Using the website rather than the App worked much better when returning vehicle. Locks on the lock box were not entirely intuitive when using for the first time - it took 3 or 4 attempts to get them open. Instructions on where exactly the letters/numbers line up and how the lock mechanism works would be helpful.
