Location was convenient. The app experience was extremely poor and confusing. My pick-up was for 7:30 am, I got a text at 7:40 am saying that the equipment was not available. Luckily the extremely nice BP shop guy who was texting his boss about the van was such a good person!Thomas C.

When I got the van to my apartment, I loaded it, and the "Check Engine" light came on.I had to take the van back to the U-haul hub, change vans and unload and reload my stuff. Luckily there wasn't anything really heavy: Even though I asked to rent a dolly, the operator told me that they never have them at that location. He was nice enough and had no problem exchanging the vans. HOWEVER, I did fill up the 1st van with gas, and then had to fill up the 2nd one, too, and U-HAUL HAS NOT REIMBURSED ME! That has been the most infuriating aspect of the transaction. Other than that, it was a decent exchange.janet P.

It was a struggle to get the receipt from this Uhaul location. I called numerous times for 2 days to no avail. My suggestion, is to settle everything with the Uhaul associate before leaving the premises.Chikezie N.

I had several issues. First, I requested a pick up at the site in East Orange due to its proximity to Newark Airport, but U-Haul switched the location at the last minute. I should have been notified by telephone. I was very angry when I arrived at East Orange U-Haul and discovered that I needed to travel to Jersey City. At Jersey City, my rental truck was ready, but the windshield and interior were dirty. Furthermore, I requested a hand truck (utility dolly) on my reservation, but the agent told me that none was available. Very poor customer service!Anthony G.

First vehicle I got had a flat tire, which luckily for me I noticed before I took the vehicle out from the the u-haul, otherwise I would have got into trouble on the road. Lost more than an hour in exchanging it with another vehicle. Second vehicle I got had a crack on the front glass, which the person at the counter did not tell me. Had to take the vehicle back to the location to tell them the crack was already there when I got it, and then they said they are aware of it - would have been helpful if they had disclosed straight away. Lost more than 2 hours just with vehicle problems.Podual G.

The audio system in the U-Haul was not working and there was a part missing out of the driver's side door. I would expect U-Haul locations to take better care of vehicles and provide a full experience for those renting them, including the use of the audio system.Rachel G.

I reserved a pick up truck to go into the city. When I got there there wasn't one and they wanted to send me to North Bergen to get one, which was out of my way and would have cost me more even though I chose this location because of its proximity to the city. If there isn't going to be a certain vehicle available don't offer it then try to bamboozle a customer into adding more miles onto their bill. Not to mention the fact that the man coordinating with uhaul wasn't wearing a mask the entirety of our interaction.Madison C.

Van was not clean (soda bottles and used napkins in the cab), there was a dent on the van when we arrived that was not marked, the mileage on the truck was marked incorrectly, the staff were disorganized and tried to argue with me saying I didnt have a reservation (when I was already checked in). They took 20 minutes to verify my booking which ate into my 1 hour rental time. Overall disorganized and unprofessional. Would not recommend this location.Giuliana C.

I had made the booking online for 4pm on November 29, 2020 prior to arriving at the location. But I had to wait for more than half an hour just to get the keys (got them around 5pm) for the 9' van that I had booked, as one of the employees had taken the key home and we had to wait for him to come back. I didn't appreciate the entire experience. It was at some random gas station where the cashier didn't speak English well and didn't know really what to do, he had to call someone on his personal cell phone, so I had to speak to a Uhaul rep on someone else's cell phone (which is not Covid safe at alll!!!), the vehicle was not cleaned (again not Covid safe) and the gas tank was basically empty. It was a terrible experience and I will never go to this location again. And honestly I've debated writing into the city, because I'm pretty pissed at the poor COVID measures that were in place.Katrina C.

The location, a gas station, is modest but employees are friendly and efficient. It may be lacking full Uhaul service amenities, however, as there were no handcarts or blankets (for moving). The Uhaul reservation system should not charge online for items that are not available at the rental location. The location quickly took the charges off of our bill, but we still needed the items for our move.William V.
Hello, It looks like the rental truck I was given, the Gas levels were not full. I drove for 4 miles (5047 to 5051 miles), but had to fill 10$ worth Gas to make it full. I provided the GAS receipt to the counter person at UHaul at Holland LLC and he said that should not have happened and the receipt online will come with the EXTRA GAS adjustment. I believe given the truck's mileage and the fact that I just drove 4 miles, the truck shouldn't consume more than 2$ worth of GAS (not more than 1 Gallon for sure). Request to you please adjust the additional GAS that I filled as the Uhaul Counter Service should have checked for this anomaly and as promised by the counter personnel.Sagar R.

I don't understand why I am being charged $10.50 for 3 gallons of gas. Before I turned in the vehicle, I filled up the tank at the pump. My receipt says, "Service Level: Full" for a total of $22.50 for 10.327 gallons. I will phone U-Haul about this.Susan W.
