I have rented from U-Haul many times, and this experience was not the best. The trailer I rented was fine; I was very satisfied. But the procedure of renting and turning in were not good. When I picked up the trailer, the only person to help me was a lady who was, by herself, minding an entire gas station, laundromat, and store with snacks and incidentals. She had to call someone to initiate the rental, and the process of her talking to the renter, then talking to me, was not pleasant for me (or for her). The renter was apparently having some issue with his software, and the length of time between questions and responses was disconcerting (and unfair to the lady running the gas station by herself). No papers were given to me. The contract was emailed to me, which was okay with me, but I was not aware that the process would proceed that way. When I turned in the trailer, another lady (also running the whole show by herself) was very polite, and assured me that she would make sure the renter was informed of when I turned in the trailer. Apparently she followed through, and all is well. But the lack of an agent of U-Haul to present me with paper copies of the rental contract and some paper form of acknowledging my turn-in would have been more to my liking.Philip C.

Have all the wires for the trailer and have a cheach list. Also hook the trailer up to the truck for the customers. I asked for a refund because the trailer was broken very stressful move. The truck was very wobbly and sucked gas fast.Artesia C.
This is a small business that is not primarily conducting U-haul business. When I arrived to drop off the trailer, there was a woman employee who told me to leave it next to the other rentals. I asked for assistance with unhooking the trailer and there was no one to help. Completely different from my experience in Michigan.Carl D.
It was my first time rented a uhual and I had terrible and awful experience from the start till the end. First of all I always look everything online and read some reviews of a product and service. I was desperate and needed a truck to fit my queen bed and move out of my apartment with dirty 3 roommates. I had an option to reserved a truck on line and was given of at least 4 Loz cation near my area and the 2 closest ones they didn't have the truck and the next one close to my area is one in Emmet Road which is a 15 mins drive. I briefly ordered for a dolly and declined the safe insurance. So my rent is for $112 ply $10 dolly. I continued packing after 30 mins reserving a truck they called me and said they don't have the truck I wanted at the location I wanted to pick up the truck and nothing within 5-10 miles our radius off my location has an available truck and they told me I had to go to standardsville and it's a 47 mins drive from my apartment. And they said they will take off the 40 plus miles off of the charges since their system was all messed up. The customer service didn't bother to apologize and be more sympathetic and all to make me feel better all all the trouble they caused me in the beginning. So I went there to pick the truck and their office was close and they didn't tell me I had to pick the keys at the gas station store and I called the number and that person at the store wasn't helping at all with his thick accent I couldn't barely understand him and his phone service was bad and he hung up on me. Finally got the key and when I open the truck door it smelled all nasty fat ass sweat and I could also throw up. I'm glad I'm always prepared with all this covid I brought my own Clorox wipes and spray and hand sanitizer. I had to keep my mask on so I won't get to inhale all the funky smell stuck on the driver seat that I don't have a choice but to sit on it and took off. Granted I was tired and reserved everything online, when I got back to my apartment there was no dolly. I'm screwed! So I ended up cutting my hand and hurting and bruised my hand from moving my boxes. There were another 2 other person keep calling me in the middle of my moving and trying to get card payment information and all. I told them I didn't get a dolly and the man said oh you didn't reserved a dolly and added to you cart and I was like â€œyes I did!â€ Because I know i need it and it will make it easier on me. That's being said the next day I returned the truck and I was charged for a dolly and safe secure insurance which leaving me a total of $154 that was from $112 truck rent + $10 dolly (which I didn't have in the truck ) + $14 for insurance and mileage and I don't know where exactly that total came from. I won't use their service again, they online system is non reliable, inconvenient and charged you extra. Don't waste your time dealing with their customer service because they will keep passing you to the next person and until you are pissed and aggravated and all. I really wish I could give a â€œ0â€ star and that's what their service can get.Wena grace L.

Had to call someone and he was hard to understand. there was no sinage or instruction to how to get keys. had to find a manager who was not associated with the Pick-upo and he gave me the number to call .All in all it took about 1/2 hour to get things straight. I was very frustrated that I made a reservation for this 5x8 trailer on May 14, 2020, and was called by UHaul on June 19 to be told my original pick up location did not have the trailer and I would need to drive TWENTY miles to get this trailer. I feel UHaul owes me mileage. The people at the pick up site were very nice and helpful.Mallory P.
The only available number was for the Gas Station (grocery store?), which provides a cell phone number for the Uhaul manager if asked. The Uhaul vehicles/trailers are the only way to tell that the building is associated with Uhaul and the building isn't otherwise marked. One word review of this location is "sketchy."ZACHARY M.
The drop off location wasn't a U-Haul building as expected . It was apart of another company. No one verified the vehicle acceptable for turn in. Wasn't given a receipt when key was turned into a gas station representative. Had to call back a day later to receive a receipt. The receipt had incorrect drop off time displayed. My original reservation was changed the day before to this location which was an hour further away roundtrip. Plus this location opened an hour later than my original location. There was no one to help me there with computer access to the Uhaul system so the reservation had to be done by phone which took another hour and multiple calls by an overworked cashier at a convenience store. Went inside the store personal to turn in the trailer. Cashier said I was all taken care of. 5 days later I get an email from U-haul stating that my trailer is past due and has not been returned! The drop off location was confusing. The original location was over 65 miles away from our home! The front end in the truck shook so bad you couldn't go over 60 miles an hour on the interstate we thought the front end was going to fly out. They overcharged me and put a hold on my account 2 days later they corrected it and put another hold on my account for the corrected amount they put a hold for over $400 and it only was 163 that I owed. Never again will I ever use uhaul if I have to move it was the worst experience I've ever had.Jeffrey N.

The store owner is the only one who handles the u-haul rentals, and he wasnt there when we were sent to pick up our rental trailer. Then he was unable to use the website to complete the rental agreement. he had to contact someone at uhaul. We had to hookup the trailer ourselves which wasnt a big deal, but it may be to some people. will never come here for a rental again.JAMES W.

This place looked abandoned. No UHaul signs were anywhere to be seen. And not one UHaul trailer or truck was on the property. Also, hours start at 11 a.m., and no representative was present then. There is no drop-box for keys. Instead, a gas station attendant takes your key. And no documentation is offered or provided for this. Finally, speaking of the adjacent gas station, I wanted to top-up the rental truck's gas tank before I dropped it off. But not even a gallon into refueling the station's fuel pump died. They had run-out of regular gasoline!Robert R L.

The owner was very nice and helpful when he finally arrived. He was not on site and we had to wait 20 minutes for him to arrive to process our reservation. In fairness this was a last minute rental. The office was in the back of a closed ice cream parlor and cluttered and dirty. The computer closed out twice. Again the man was gracious , nice and helpful but i would not rent here againdonald S.
Uhaul service has changed now that reservations are made online. It lacks the personal service, and ability to confirm the truck you want is on site. Though not very reassuring at time of reservation, they did meet the needs and were flexible when we needed to extend our reservation.Jack R.

I reserved a truck a month in advance of pick up in Ruckersville, Va. At 10-30 the morning of pick-up a received a call saying they had no truck. I would have to drive 45 minutes for one they had reserved. I was also told I would have to return it to pick-up location. I am paying mileage on both trips. I saw a truck across the street. I was told I would have to go on line to reserve it. On line I hit the wrong date and it would not let me correct it. I had to call an 800 number to get everything finalized. Needless to say I wasted 2 hours of time on a system that is very disorganized.Ellen D.

Horrible customer service. I arrived the day before to confirm my rental. When I got there the day of pick up there was no paperwork ready for me. They did not know how to do the paperwork. They told me to just take the rental and they would email me something. I knew this was not right. This location was also a convenience store I waited over and hour while they waited on customers. I finally got fed up and called the 800 number my self and got the paperwork done over the phone. This location should have UHaul removed from it.Roseann C.

The "office" in the back of the store was deplorable. The room was a complete mess and nasty. There was no AC nor fans to circulate any air. The temperature had to have been in the upper 9o's and the odor was out of this world. I could not get out of there fast enough. If I ever have to rent another U-Haul, I will request NOT to pick up at this location.nancey S.

Email from Uhaul to pick up trailer at 12:00pm. Received text message to call and confirm pickup. Called 4 times and did not get any answer or any way to leave a message. When I got to the location I was told that the person who handled the uhaul rentals would not be in until 4:00pm. Worked with uhaul customer service on my cell phone while standing in the parking lot to do contract over the phone. Had to hook up trailer by myself. The trailer was also full of mud and had some metal shelf pieces in it. This place give Uhaul a bad name.anthony G.
