I have rented two trucks within the last two weeks from this dealer. The first truck, 20', had a manifold exhaust leak which allowed exhaust fumes to enter the passenger cabin. This was confirmed by a road side mechanic. The recent 26' truck had the oil and water symbols displayed on the dashboard. Steve, U haul dealer, told me he had 6 other trucks with the same issue but was waiting for the U-Haul company to send their mechanic to make the repairs. Yet he is still renting these poorly maintained and unsafe vehicles to customers with disregard to their safety. It's not a matter of â€œifâ€, it's a matter of â€œwhenâ€ a customer gets seriously injured driving one of your unsafe trucks. And that's on U-Haul. I have reported this serious matter to the District Manager who has yet to call me. I hope this concern does not fall on deaf ears, again!ROBERT O.

Don't tell a customer to put gas in the vehicle so there won't be a charge for mileage and then charge for mileage.DAVID H.

Never again! The actual mileage and gas numbers didn't match what they had listed in their system when I initially checked in at the office. Despite completing the check-in on the app while sitting in the truck, correcting the mileage and gas info AND uploading a photo showing the gauges, they conveniently didn't have that information when I returned the truck.SHAWNA K.
Excellent experience! We needed to move a family member on short notice. We were able to schedule a next day move with the truck and 2 guys to help us easily on the website! I would definitely use UHaul and this particular location again!STEPHEN T.

My Original rental was at the Beaufort location, the employee did not show up to work U-Haul gave me a rental miles out and did nothing for the inconvenience that is their fault.LAKRISTA S.

Check air in tires sensor on mgr said it was just a sensor and he ordered one, truck was very hard to handle and all over the road because air was low in tire. Engine light on mgr said don't worry about it my Mercedes comes on 1000 miles before it needs service. Truck had no gas cap, again mgr said he had ordered it. Pretty sure you can get one at autozone and no gas cap affects gas mileage and is dangerous. I told him I was driving alone several hundred miles and was worried about the truck. He said, you will be fine!KATHY C.

aThe online check in at 6 pm Saturday did not work. Said could not find location. My brother also tried. Brought the key to Bubba at the office 9am Sunday and he apologized and said I can leave and he will check it in and send me email. Excellent service from Bubba and appreciated as still have an unresolved dispute with large car rental company. Thank you very much, TomTHOMAS G.

I can't recommend the destination location, nor U-Haul Customer Service. I sent an email to Customer Service on Friday November 5th with an issue on Contract #27698278. We cleaned the truck, swept, blew the remaining dust out, and folded the pads. The U-Haul location was only a few miles from our destination stop so there should not have been an issue. The local U-Haul owner Bubba was not helpful - told me that his team took 1.5 hours to clean the truck. I asked to have the cleaning fee ($26.75 ) refunded, and he said no and referred me to customer service. Called the number, didnt want to wait 30 minutes on hold, and decided to email Customer Service. I didnt hear back in 2 days. $26.75 in the grand scheme of things is not big money but the cleaning charge was annoying. The accompanying receipt shows the 20 ft rental truck was checked in at 6:36pm on Thursday, a day early, where we dropped the truck off around 12:30pm that day. There was another gentleman in the office at that time possibly looking for a 20 ft truck. Could he have taken the truck I drove from Florida and not cleaned it? Not every impressed with this location and had a small ask of the waiving of the cleaning fee. Cannot recommend this location, given their performance here, sorry.Stefan B.

I dropped off the truck after hours so, understandably, there was no one to check in with. However, the location had no instructions as to where to park the truck and there were trucks parked all over in three different locations. There were no instructions other than a key drop box. There was no internet connection so I was unable to use the link from my text to complete the drop off information.DANIEL Z.

I had originally reserved a truck at a much closer & convenient location to me. UHaul dropped the ball and never scheduled my truck nor contacted me about my reservation. No truck available when I went to pick it up. I was then sent 18 miles out of my way to this location. This location was fine, but UHaul corporate is a joke and I won't be using them again.DAVID B.

The location and local support were great. However, the Uhaul website and app were so bad it is unlikely I will ever rent from Uhaul again. I had over 2 hours invested in ordering and then returning the vehicle. The website froze multiple times and ended up creating double order, which then took multiple attempts to cancel. Upon returning the vehicle the app would not take the picture of the dash for mileage and fuel. The long return time made my wife late for work and caused a big argument. Finally, after multiple attempts including restarting my iPhone 12, I had to go into the location and have them return my vehicle. I had a similar experience at my last rental, that I then had to fight to get late fees reversed. If you are going to an automated system, you better get one that is reliable.RICK P.

The trailer was missing the light wiring, so I had to buy the flat four wire extension from an auto parts store. My vehicle is equipped to connect to the wire connector. This has not happened in the past.RONALD P.

Loved meeting Bubba and Shadow. The vehicle we rented was clean and in good repair. There was even the opportunity to add a dolly and furniture pads for moving. So easy to rent online and upload all the information needed by UHaul before picking up the vehicle the next morning.Joyce C.

I was charged for an extra day, also the manager Angela at the two Notch location said if i paid cash she would require $100.00 cash deposit which would be returned upon my arrival at the Hilton Head location. Upon arriving Bubba said he did not deal with cash and knew nothing about it and would not inquire about any of the discrepancies for me yet not dealing with cash he gladly accepted $194. Cash payment which i disagreed with. I only had the truck two extra days and returned the dolly only one day late. It was returned yesterday. Bubba said my $100.00 deposit would be returned by check. I am very dissatisfied and have not had an experience this bad with uhaul ever. I would like to request my deposit back and a refund for the extra day i was charged returned.Melanie B.
