The cab of the van was clean, well appointed and well maintained. However, the cargo area was not clean and had leftover boxes from the previous rental. More care should be taken to inspect the entire vehicle in between rentals.Courtney L.

They did not have a clean truck for me. The back area had trash in it. They also did not provide me the moving pads and dolly I had requested. Obviously, there was no one there to talk to at check out since i had to do self check out. The interior of the cab also was dirty and smelled of cigarette smoke. I have used uhaul numerous times before and this was the worst. I would rate you zero out of five stars for this experience.Jeremy L.

Everyone was nice but UHaul split my reservation wihtout notifying me and thus causing a 4+hr delay on my moving day which cascaded through my planned travel schedule for the next 3 days. UHaul also changed my return date to one day earlier without notifying me and charged me for the "overage". Additionally, I received phone calls from several people all asking the same questions and they all stated they did not know that someone else called me. There are some incredibly obvious and frustrating logistics gaps in UHaul's communications systems. There are many other truck rental companies available and I will not be using UHaul for any of my rental needs in the future.Mark M.
The rental location was convenient, and reserving the truck online was easy. I am not sure if I would go through the self pick up again, as it was a lengthy process on my phone, and returning was the same. Next time I will opt to go to the counter. I still had to go to the counter once I finished the process to pick up the key. The truck did not have a lick of fuel. I would prefer to pick it up full, and return it full.Debbie S.

Was very displeased with being charged $90 for fuel and fuel service fees. I was not told that I had there would be service fees or that I should replace the amount used. I drive the truck a total of 12 miles. The fuel gauge was not as shown in the initial photo. Lesson learned.DOUGLAS M.

The drop off site in Alexandria that we were scheduled for was terrible. The gentleman could barely speak English, he was rude, would not look us in the eye, and kept waving us out of his facility because there was no room. He offered no help. Get rid of that location!Laurie L.

The absolute BEST Uhaul truck we have ever rented. Usually they are old pieces of junk which are hard to drive. This was an almost brand new van! Thank you. The only negative was the website kept crashing during the mobile turn in process. It took about 40 minutes to try and go through the process. The 800 Uhaul number was also very backed up with over 30 minutes to speak to anyone. We never did speak with anyone and were able to get the turn in website to work.TIMOTHYJENS B.

Arrived and no one present or available to assist with drop off or check me in. Called into the dealership to ask what to do or if someone from UHaul could help, gentlemen had no idea what to do. Put me on hold for about 15 min, finally came back and just said to go and park it where the other UHaul equipment was and someone would check it in later. Not that hard to back up so I did, then a very nice young lady came running out and apologized again and again for me having to wait. I was already unhooking the trailer so she just observed and checked it and before I left, apologized again. She was very nice and eager to help with the drop off.MICHAELJOHN V.

When U-Haul switches the pickup location, the miles allocated to reach the destination needs to be supplemented enough for the customer to not have to pay for extra mileage. My destination was 192 miles from my house, but I still ended up paying for 10.1 miles extra. Not much mileage, but still not fair. The mileage when I left the pickup location was 37515.5. The mileage on the receipt is way off! It says the starting mileage was 29273.0! WHAT?????sarah P.

However, customer support was able to find me a truck (thumbs up) in Alexandria (thumbs down).. While the Springfield and Terrell locations were excellent and helpful and efficient, our overall experience with Uhaul was dreadful! We live near Frederick, MD and contracted over a month in advance to pickup a 26' truck at 10:00 am on 8/26 at the Frederick Uhaul. When we arrived, there was no truck of any kind available for us even though we had help on hand and the loading planned for that day! As it turned out we had to drive over an hour to Springfield, VA to pick up a 20' truck as no 26' trucks were available. And then back again to md where we were not able to fit all our household into the 20 ft truck!! All I can say is, â€œthat is a lousy way to run a businessâ€ and treat customers!robert P.

First of all, they gave me a tuck that had head & shoulders shampoo all over the back and a dolly I didn't ask for that banged around the whole time. Then they give me a truck that's NOT @ 1/2 full. A little under. I bring it back at 1/2. & they charge me for a gallon of fuel? Are you serious? Do you know how hard it is fo get the gas tank perfect? Why don't you give people a full truck and have them bring it back full? You aren't Enterprise. Then you just bill people without letting us dispute the bill first. I know you are being â€œcontactlessâ€ but this is stupid. You can't even complain. It's cheaper just renting a truck from Home Depot. I used it exactly 3 hours and it was almost $100. They are new...dealership did not even know they had uhaul trucks on site...took 40 minutes to get the truck. Was told to drop off at any location in Richmond...contract had a phone number to call...30+ minutes on phone waiting...went to closest location, 45 minutes and they could not figure out how to take the truck back (another new location), so after wasting all this time, went to the VCU U-HAUL location during a rain storm and they were great!!ANDREW B.
Had to pay to reserve equipment and movers. 1. They didn't fully communicate that the movers could only do one city not the other and don't answer the phone so I can get my refund back. 2. They are very rude and don't consider traffic as part of the reason that involves of moving. 3.
