u haul web site works poorly so I was unable to complete pick up on line. Pick up location was not happy about completing it in their office nor was I happy about the wasted time. Same problem during return- web site disconnected just before finishing a tedious and time consuming return involving download of multiple photos and a lengthy set of questions.

Make sure the covers for the furniture is washed, covid is happening we should not be tranferring them from one household to the next without proper cleaning.

The online check in process was a nightmare and the lady there was not helpful at all. Had me and three other people waiting Outside for our reservation since the door was lock and she was sitting at the desk playing with her hair. I ended up having to call the number to the store to get any kind of service. It was very unprofessional.

The people in the office this morning were extremely rude. The mobile app did not give me a code to retrieve truck keys. After 20 minutes the office finally gave me a code and very rudely informed me that I should have looked it up.

The employee was extremely rude. I arrived and the sign on the door said no in person check-in. I was attempting to check-in on my phone but it was not recognizing my account. When the employee finally came to the door she simply said it does work and that it has to be done that way. When I tried to explain that it wasn't working she kept insisting and then told me I just needed to calm down and try again. She then proceeded to help another customer by inviting them inside and locked the door behind her. I continued to try the online check-in while my son-in-law tried to find another place to rent from. After about 10 more minutes of waiting the employee finished with the other customer and opened the door again. She appeared very annoyed when I told her it still wasn't working and asked her to verify that my credit card wouldn't be charged since I was unable to check-in. At that point she begrudgingly ushered me inside while saying it wasn't necessary for me to get worked up about it. She then asked me to scan in my license through the text she sent me. I tried but it wasn't working. She argued that it had to work even though I showed her it wasn't with my phone. Finally she took my license and scanned it herself. From that point she got the process finished manually. Needless to say, I will never rent from them again.

After reserving a truck online, I went to the pickup location at my scheduled time. Despite selecting that I would like to pick up at front desk, I was denied this service and was referred to the uhaul app. When I tried to check in on the app, it would not work and could not find my reservation. I asked the representative at the facility for assistance and was again spoken to rudely and offered no assistance. The representative even saw my reservation in the system and insisted she would not do anything to help. After wasting an hour and a half, I was forced to cancel my reservation, make a new reservation through the app. After that, I was able to successfully check in and pick up the uhaul truck. Overall, the representative at Harbour View Self Storage made the process difficult, frustrating, and lengthy. I have never had such poor service in my entire life nor spoken to so rudely and condescending. The icing on the cake- I did not receive the appliance dolly I reserved, and despite calling customer service and the location, I was billed for the dolly. Please fix this!

This was the worst rental experience I have ever had. Most of it had to do with the U-Haul rental experience for persons who pick up in con-tactless locations. If I had known that it was a contact less location and what that meant in-terms of potentially holding up my move I would have have gone somewhere else. There were many problems not on my end on with completing the registration process. The problem I have with this facility is with the $25.00 cash grab for cleaning because I did not fold the cleaning pads. I have rented from U haul before earlier this year and was not charged this fee. The unit was clean with no debris. The problem with this is because I could not talk to anyone during the process and if I have been told this I would have folded them. I could not go inside the facility for any reason. I understand the con-tactless process. I had to deal with it even though it was a severe inconvenience but to charge me this fee when I could talk to no one is awful. I will never rent from Uhaul again mainly because you should warn persons on the process on con-tactless locations. My reservation was held up by 1 hour and I had people I was paying. I will be writing a separate email to corporate to express why completing the process was was almost impossible to me. Uhaul used to be my choice for truck rental. It is now off the list because of completing the registration process and the cash grab by this location. I will use every opportunity to warn persons no to use this company.

Light bulb needs to be replaced.

The instruction on where to leave keys when returning the vehicle are vague and confusing. Luckily someone at the facility was able to point out the hard to see key drop box. But a large sign on the front door saying that the facility was NOT a Uhaul office confused me, and there were no instructions regarding where to put the key on the Uhaul App that I noticed.

Your customer representative was Poor at knowing her job duties had issues with logging into the website we stayed at the site for over an hour trying to get the U-Haul rental she wasn't much help at all

Nice pick up truck. Fairly clean. Good rates.

I was charged a cleaning fee, and charged twice for using the dolly-one day rental. Shady practices, bordering into illegal but definitely questionable. I took pictures of the clean truck. If they found something at least give me the same courtesy and send me photos of what was found. I called left a message, 8 hrs later no call back.

The no contact pickup was frustrating at first because we were not familiar with it but once we got through it, I feel that we would definitely use it again. You may want to consider guest wifi that will accessible to customers since folks who have maxed out their data limits (end of month etc.) have slow enough data speeds that their phone cannot send location data to the system. Finally, I realize this may come off as a little petty but it is worth mentioning. The moving blankets and dolly should not be permanently stored in the truck. It should only be in there if a customer has requested it since it takes up space that could otherwise be used for items that are being moved. It may only be a small space but it is still space that the customer is paying for which is being used up by U-haul.

The person who was there to handle rentals was not helpful or friendly. Also, I thought I had completed check-in on line...then get there to pick up truck and was told I had to download app and start all over again. I was upset that I had to do double work.I was instructed to go to 1800 Uhaul to have them walk me through process.

Brought the car back 10 min before the due time , used less miles then what I originally requested and was charged $34. When I returned the truck 10 min for closing I put the keys through the little window and I sat in my car until it got cold. As I sat there I noticed the lady coming back out with a broom. 15 min later I was charged an additional $34. Never going back to this sorry place.

It was a very easy drop off.

Employees were not helpful with the rental pick up. Truck tire had a hole in the side wall which I replaced

They charged me a 25 cleanup fee and I cleaned my truck out before returning it. They are making up issues in order to charge more and it appears to be nothing I can do about it. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION.

The truck was not clean when i picked it up. I submitted a picture with though the mobile app that i used to pick it up but was still billed for cleaning.

Online check in service is the worst.

Didn't seem to have many vehicles for rent.

The representative that helped us with picking up the key & explaining everything was very helpful & nice. We told her about all the scratches, dents & upholstery damages before we left. We returned the truck after hours, so I called to check on it the next Mon. That's when I was told we were billed an extra $25 for cleaning. We had checked that the truck was clean, so I objected but U Haul didn't budge. I will never rent from them again!

Employees were very nice to my wife. Thank you for being so helpful.

Stop overcharging for a cleanup charge. I called the location and the young lady couldn't even tell me what was not cleaned. I feel this is their way of making an extra profit on the trucks.

Should have sufficient staff if a customer arranges on line and fills out everything on line that they do not have to wait on another customer that arrives after them to fill out their paperwork before you get the trailer. One person doing it all does not allow for a quick pick up. Should offer some credit back if you return the trailer nearly 20 hours before due.

To be fair: The rental process was easy. The truck was available on the spot. The problem: I even mopped the back of the truck, I don't understand why they charged me a cleaning fee for $25.00 That is disappointing, will look for another U-haul location next month.

Uhaul Corporate and its practices in renting were awful. The worst experience I have had yet. And on top of that I am being billed incorrectly. Please provide a phone number for the corporate office so that I can call and have my billing adjusted.

Stop ripping off the after hours drop off customers. I was told the truck was left dirty when we had a broom with us, and made sure to sweep it out after we were finished. We ended up being charged an extra $25 dollars for a truck sweep.

DO NOT use the Uhaul location on Brombay Court in Chesapeake unless you want to pay hidden fees. I rented a cargo van on Saturday and just got a receipt showing my actual charges were almost double the estimated quote at rental. To my surprise a $20 after hours charge was added because I didn't use the mobile app to check the van in upon return ( mins you this was NEVER mentioned or highlighted at all when I signed the paper) and a $25 cleaning fee to seep our the van. I used the van to move 1 piece of wrapped furniture and only went 16 miles round trip. When I called to dispute the charges, Brittany/Brandy told me there was a “sticker” on the back door of the van stating the cleaning fee. I looked the contact over several times and NOWHERE does it state a cleaning fee that I authorized. To make matters worse, she told me they “sweep out the dirt” when returned. How can you get dirt in a van you use with wrapped furniture!!??? Next, the $20 mobile check in fee is something Brittany/Brandy NEVER mention I'd highlighted or mention on my contract before I accepted the van. Although, She took time to highlight Equipment number, gas level and renting local. She as tells me that stick is on the door too??. What she did say was my rental was for 24 hours and when I brought the van back and if they were closed just put the keys in the after hours slot. I truly believe that this location is setting people up for these illegal extra fees just to make money. If you have experienced this with Uhaul, please contact me because there needs to be a lawsuit. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has paid these fees and not aware or authorized for them especially that cleaning fee. By the way, I've rented from them in the past without these fees plus I just rented a 10' truck from another location in Norfolk VA in July and these fees were NOT included. I told her this and all she said was “ we have stickers on the van?? I am part of a family business and would never treat my customers like this. Tell the WHOLE story when you rent to customers.

Do not come to this location! They charge for anything! I got charged $25 for a a little fuzz balls in the back of the truck. It's in the cut and needs to stay there. They don't even wanna assist you they want you to the mobile app. To lazy fat ass pigs!

Be on time. My rental was for 8:00 am and they didn't open until 9:15. No one sent me the lock box code for the key to the truck.

I had trouble with the app that slowed down our morning, but we were able to make up time after a call. I really think it's not fair to charge extra mileage to 22 minutes into Suffolk when the pick up location was miles closer, you need to look into this. All the personal were great and very accommodating. Use you guys for years, please check the extra mileage thing, seems like your charging folks to manage your fleet at our costs.

This is the second time I have rented from this location and given that my organization The Mission Continues does a lot of business with Uhaul across the United States, I have been overcharged or had additional fees tacked on to my contract each time. As with the first time I looked at it as an oversight but to be overcharged again it a little concerning of this location practices.

Very close & convenient. Personnel is always pleasant and efficient.

Posted hours for the office were 9:00AM, but didn't open until 9:30AM. Not a big deal for me since I had time, but could be problematic for future customers.

BAIT AND SWITCH HERE! Location charged 25% higher than the contracted on-line amount. Said there was nothing they could do, "That's what they gave us" when he processed the contract ON OUR ARRIVAL. Turns out his processing wiped out the on-line figures - I checked in his presence. BEWARE!

It's just so easy! The person that accepts our return is friendly and efficient. Couldn't be easier.

Takes to much money. They charge me one piece and and 3 days later charge me, 87$ more dollars, I wouldn't dare go back here again......

Go 24/7 , like most moving experiences are. I couldn't tell anyone about returning the equipment because it's after hours, or a weekend . Having no computer, and not being tech savvy, I felt isolated. But the equipment performed flawlessly.
