I returned the van on time but the guy did not close the contract on time rather he closed it in the evening which costed me an extra day. I would recommend when you receive the final receipt then go through the whole thing. Watch Out! for the extra day charges.Zeeshan A.
The location was within a small convenient deli and store in which I had to wait more than 10 minutes to get and return the trucks key. There were 4-5 employees all working in the deli and not giving and mind nor attention to those waiting at the counter. The trucks brakes were so bad that you had to push the peddle to the floor for them to have contact. The side view mirrors couldn't be adjusted and it made it extremely difficult to maneuver with limited visibility. When I gave an associate the returned key, I asked if he was going to come out and check the vehicle and he said, "No, you are all set." So when reviewing my bank statement that evening, I saw an additional $43.35, charged for fees that I was not aware of. When I picked up the vehicle I was only told to sign electronically on his cell phone app and I was not given any paperwork for the contract. They are stating that there was 3/4 of tank of gas and that the mileage was 40 miles and not 30. But the correct information is that when I picked up the truck there was only 1/2 tank and I went exactly 30.6 miles. I have put in a complaint with Uhaul customer service for disputing these false charges and the reference # 3494641 I want the $43.35 to be deposited back into my bank account. Guy seemed more interested in making sandwiches than renting out a uhaul properly to us. Was supposed to give us a 20' truck but only had 10'. Had to make an extra trip with smaller truck but thankfully customer service took $50 and when I asked what happened to our 20' truck they said the last person didn't return it after although handy pantry said they never had 20' trucks. Also tried having me rent out online because he was too lazy to help me. I've been renting out for 7 years and this was the worst service I've ever hadChris H.
I have been renting Uhauls for years through Home Depot. This time i went with a private dealer and i have to tell you this was not a good experience. The associate Cliff was the only pleasant thing that made me move forward with the rental. The owner did not inspect this vehicle to make sure it was clean. The Uhaul representative Michele was extremely rude to Cliff and me when he was trying to get assistance on how to release the rental. I've been trying to get customer service for two days to make sure my transaction is closed since i returned it and i can not get through. I don't see myself ever using Uhaul again. You really need to hire more people to answer your customer service line. No one should wait 40 minutes on hold and still hasn't spoken to a representativeAngela W.
