The location was fine, but UHaul's process was awful. The location service in the app didn't work and the link in the email didn't take me to the proper place in the website to pickup the truck. I needed customer service to tell me to go to uhaul.com/share before I could pick it up. Then there's all kinds of additional information you wanted me to fill out AFTER I arrive while standing around an abandoned gas station in the dark. It would have been far more helpful to send me something to fill that information out the day before. The pickup instructions were also vague and difficult to follow in the dark, and the customer service agent seemed to have more complete instructions than were available to me. That said, the customer service agent herself was a phenomenal help, 5 stars for her.

Process with self check in was a little confusing at the beginning but once I got a hold of it, it was smooth sailing.

Daniel DWe were supposed to rent a truck from the malvern, Pennsylvania location, but soon before arriving, the sales associate called and told us that there is actually no truck for us, and that the trucks were overbooked. The website sent me a reservation confirmation, but there was actually no truck available. We found this out one hour before the movers were supposed to meet us at our apartment. This was extremely frustrating and added to the stress of moving day, but the manager of the original location was able to find us one available truck. He had to pull a lot of strings since most trucks were out for the day. Please fix this glitch on your website, I would never wish this feeling of stress on anyone who is moving, especially first time homeowners.

Michelle OI had trouble using the app to Pickup so I called Customer Service. The woman I worked was outstanding!! She walked me through every step and was patient and kind. The app was confusing bc it doesn’t tell you not to click pickup section until actively picking up the rental. There should be instructions or a warning. I’m so glad the women at customer service was wonderful. She turned around my experience 100%!

Edward SI selected a specific location closer to home that supposedly had the truck I needed. Two days before I got a call saying I needed to pick up at a different location. If UHaul advertises a certain location UHaul should make sure a truck is there. Also the App is terrible. I had to renter info I had submitted at the time of rental, I hadn’t expected to have to submit photos. That could have been handled ahead of time

Mike JI ordered the rental van online with. Pick up time of 11:00am. The site notes open time to be 10:30am. When I got there there was a sign on the door stating the store would Be open at 11:30am. At 11:40am the owner finally showed. What can you do to improve: open on time and be aware of what pick up times your customers enter.

Kevin TCustomer service is probably the worst experience I’ve ever engaged in. This was my second experience with U-Haul and not even close to being a good one. I would pay double the price for another service, Penske, budget whatever it may be but will never come back to U-Haul or recommend it.
Allen AWe weren’t told that the truck pick up location was moved so we drove to the original place to later find out we had to drive 45 minutes to pick up the truck & 45 minutes home. We were 2 hours delayed for our move which caused us to sit in hours of traffic driving to South Carolina from Pennsylvania. We then got charged TWICE for the uhaul itself. The experience was absolutely terrible and the customer service at the Colmar, PA location was horrendous.

Peter kMy issue was my drop off location had been changed and I had to travel an additional 15 miles out of the way to drop it off. The wait times on a call can be very long so it was a bit annoying. The first spot that they had switched my drop off was over 20 miles away in the opposit direction. This happened because I got a bigger truck and not all locations are willing to take the larger size . That’s all they could tell me . I was lucky they found the second spot or I would really have been upset. But I went over in mileage ONLY because the new drop off was further away. So I got. Liked for it . Was not worth the hassle to call uhaul as the drop off person had no control.

MITCHELL SThe rental location was great , Hallmans Store . Mr Hallman was very helpful . However , the size truck I reserved online was not there . Had to go to a smaller truck and make two trips . A second location also had me reserved , yes two locations . It seems that UHaul needs an over haul .

James HI ordered moving blankets with my van, but Hallmans didn't have any available. They let U-Haul know, but U-Haul never passed the message on to me. Because of that, I had to make a separate stop to buy them, an extra cost and delay. U-Haul needs to improve the customer communication in these kinds of circumstances. The celluar signal at this location can be kind of spotty, so bear that in mind when doing the unattended pickup or dropoff. You may have to move around away from the vehicle to get a decent signal, which can add significantly more time to both processes.
