Uhaul hooked up my trailer. A few hours later the trailer jumped off the ball when going over a speed bump. The hand knows on the coupler was completely open. Never was tightened down. Safety chains saved the trailer and the truck.

Hard to reach an agent, and they never gave me my refund after returning the truck on time. I've sent several emails and tried to leave messages but couldn't and have yet to hear back from anyone.

Dariah would not accept my VIP for $20.00 & were not professional when I turned the truck in. All she wanted was my money, too! You all should not be taking money out of my bank account without my authorization even if I do owe for mileage. Allow me to authorize it! Not UHAUL! I cannot believe the way I was treated using both trucks! Do better!

The pick up site was very helpful. However the 24 /7 servoce that changes your pick up site to over an hour away at the last moment before pickup causes extra expense and hardship. In the future I will not use Uhaul for this reason.

Limited supplies, I received half the moving pads I requested leaving me to borrow sleeping bags and blankets from friends in order to properly pad my furniture. How does this happen when the reservation was in for a month?

We reserved the truck at a location in Williamsburg but were informed we had to drive 45 minutes away to Newport News to pick up at this location instead. We did the app to pick up which was easy but the truck was not loaded with the 2 dollies or 5 dozen pads. Since we were there before business hours, no one was there to help. After 40 minutes on the phone, I was told to go to a different location in Newport News to get the pads and 1 dollie as that would fit in my car since the movers were already at my house in Williamsburg and were loading what they could. Moving is stressful and this made it difficult, frustrating and so far beyond stressful if I could avoid your company in the future I will. Very disappointed with this experience.

Truck was not clean when I pick up the truck. There was damage on the truck that was already there. The driver seat could not even move up for me to able to drive the truck. The front left tire was low. Also the person working there did not tell me to look over the truck to make sure there was nothing wrong with the truck before leaving the lot. Like other Uhaul locations tell you to do that. I should get my money back. ☹️☹️

I got charged an extra hundred bucks for my dolly, furniture dolly, furniture pads, AND the auto transport that I had already returned. When I tried to return everything other than the auto transport (since I had already returned it), the person I talked to said she couldn't do it but her manager would and would call me later that night when he came in. Night goes by, no phone call. Call again next day, says they will remind him to call me again tonight. Night goes by, no phone call. Finally she transfers me to him on the third day. Complained about being charged for all that stuff especially the auto transport that I had returned. Never heard from him again and never got refunded for it. Fantastic customer service, not!

The truck that I rented had an exhaust leak coming from the passenger side manifold, we had to drive with the windows down due to the fumes entering the cab making us nauseous. Also, the business was closed at 9:00am, a young lady arrived 30 minutes later to open up delaying my departure to work.

The location was changed less than 24 hours before the pickup time and pushed back 1 hour causing the moving process to start 3 hours later then expected. If the moving helpers had not been accommodating I would not have been able to complete the loading. I find the change very poor customer support.

I requested a 26 ft truck for 3 days for a long distance move. What I got was a 26 ft truck for 3 hrs and a local return. No 26 ft trucks were available so we had to rent a smaller truck and then drive from Portsmouth to New Port News and pick up a tow trailer to go along with the smaller truck. Not too happy.

When I arrived, my 10 foot truck was hooked up to a tow dolly. This location is closed on Sunday so I had absolutely no assistance. The furniture dolly I rented was also nowhere to be found. I was on the phone for about 30 minutes before getting someone on the regional U-Haul number. With them unable to help, I was able to remove the tow dolly with the help of a family member. This experience was so terrible. The truck was low on gas and filthy on the inside. Not to mention I was put behind schedule on my moving trip. So disappointed.

The trailer was not available as contracted for. After a confirmation call there was no trailers available once we drove there. This site was very diligent in trying to solve the problem. I view this to be more of a UHAUL problem than a problem with this location.

When I got it, it looked cleaned inside and nothing major. I went to dig my phone from under the seat when it fell and there was food from previous customer under there. Old stale fries, crumbs from food. Other than that, I would recommend this location and company!

Next time, clean the truck and rid it of the gasoline smell that it is still on my boxes and mattresses!!! The wheels on the furniture dollies were worn out and raggedy and hard to use while moving. I want a refund for the furniture dollies and some kind of credit for the truck smelling like gasoline and the smell all on my boxes and mattresses.

When I called the location, representative seem to be bother by the call, upon arriving, the guy who attended me was on his air pods on the phone. I was given a quote on how much it'll be based on the cost, the quote was set for 78$, which would include everything and 30 miles including taxes and the insurance plan. I made sure to ask if I need to put gas on the vehicle, he said that they charge by the mile not the gas. When I return the car, the lady took my keys and told me I'll be getting an email with the receipt, I told her how much would it be, she said I'll be getting that info later that day any questions ask. Later that day nothing, the next day I got a charge of 123$ on top of the 78$, totaling to 200$, once I received the bill break down, I'm getting charge 30$ for gas on top of the 85 cents per mile, i did go over 30 miles but the quote was misleading. I tried calling back but keep going straight to voicemail. Stay away from this place

The only thing I did not like is that when we picked up the truck it was noted that we wanted to drop it off at a location near our house. Half way on our drive from Alexandria back to Newport News we are told we have to take it to downtown Newport News. Not a place a woman wants to be at night.

One of the three dollies were completely missing and the person first tried to play it off as if it was not listed when it was. Then she said it would be changed on the contract and the price reduced. I check online that night and neither had happened.
