I will never rent from a U-haul location again that does not have a person on site to assist with the rental pick-up and drop off. The experience I had using your app was extremely frustrating and time consuming. Never again.

The online check in process was buggy and I had to do it over after starting it. The cab was dirty and has not been vacuumed in a while. However the price was really good, and functionally it was just what I needed.

There was a big hole in the roof of the van. It wasn’t discovered when checked in from previous user and I noticed it when I started to use it. Luckily it wasn’t raining the day I used it.

If you send an email that says the truck will be at such and such location then it should be there. Not change the location when you log on and your 30 minutes where the truck actually is. The pickup process and drop off is time consuming and until you get done with everything the phone is dead. Overall unsatisfactory.

The truck was clean and operated as expected and the built-in ramp was also very useful. The U-Haul app sucks; they waited until I was picking up the truck to make sure I met their requirements to rent it. What the heck would we would have done had they declined us the day we needed it? Since no humans were involved at all in this faceless process at the point of rental or drop-off, this should have been done the day I made the reservation and NOT the day I picked up the truck. I had a moving crew of eight people waiting and then U-Haul decides to check me out? Bad business plan, U-Haul. It also took about 30 minutes to finish the stupid pick up. Completely disrespectful of our time and schedule. The app is slow and intrusive and required me to turn on my phone's location, which I never turn on. Most people don't care if they are monitored by their phone, I do; my whereabouts are no one's business but my own. Returning the truck was no better. Valley Lock and Door SHOULD have had a free guest wifi to make the humanless process faster!! I've never been a fan of U-Haul, as you must reserve what you want and 9 out of 10 times you do not get what you reserve, causing issues with your plans (I once reserved a closed trailer to drive 800 miles round trip to help a family member from VT to PA and was rented instead, an open trailer and it rained on the way back. I had to look for and buy a tarp & straps, adding unplanned-for time and expense to the trip). The only reason we successfully got what we reserved this time is because Valley Lock owned the truck we reserved. We could have used a larger one, but with U-Hauls history, I avoided that risk and just stuck with the truck they had. Also, I had originally reserved an appliance hand truck for this move but then realized I didn't need it. When I called to cancel the reservation for the appliance hand truck, I was told Valley didn't have one, as it was stolen months earlier! so they reserved a regular hand truck for me instead. There is a significant difference between a regular hand truck and an appliance hand truck: for one thing, the appliance hand truck has a much wider steel lip that reaches the corners of the appliances where the wheels or feet are located, which is important because the corners are designed to support the structural load of the appliance. The area between the wheels or feet is structurally week and using a regular hand truck with a narrow lip will often damage that side of the appliance you lift it from. Appliance hand trucks also have straps to secure the appliance to the hand truck and they also have smaller wheels and built-in rollers at the bottom rear to facilitate going up and down steps with minimal damage to the steps. Instead of just substituting what I ordered for what they had, they should have had the courtesy to call me and ask if it was an acceptable substitution and not just let us discover it the day it was needed. Would I rent from U-Haul again or from Valley Lock and Door? Perhaps, unless Penske has what I need, but if I do, I'll know in advance to expect to be frustrated and stressed out again. Moving is a drag and though renting a truck is helpful, U-Haul itself, is not.

The mobile app check-in process was a complete failure! I was returning the truck after hours so was relying on the app. Bad choice! I couldn't complete the transaction (pictures of the odometer would NOT upload!) so had to come back in the morning when the business was open. Fortunately, the staff at the location were very helpful and completed the check-in for me. Thank you Valley Lock & Door Company!

The app and website are horrible, they constantly freeze up preventing you from picking it up on time or returning it on time.. this happened the last 2 times I used them and sat on hold for 45 minutes only to be hung up on then another 45 minute wait.. I will NOT be using uhaul in the future! Horrible experience.

Throw the u haul 24/7 customer website in the circular file and request locations to have qualified live human beings available instead. I had trouble with the website crashing which greatly impacted my registration which is a problem at u haul , not this location. The truck ran like it was on its last legs ( 145000 miles ) . The headlights were like two candles up front and the windshield was very dirty making it annoying to drive. I think next time I will go to Penske .

Due to a last minute switch by U-Haul, we had to use this location which was a further distance from our home. I was not happy about this last minute change. I felt like I was just a number, there to rent the 20 ft truck they had available because there were no 15 ft trucks to be had anywhere (I originally reserved a 15 ft truck). How can that be?? Just like the old Seinfeld episode with the rental car...you are able to take the reservation, but you are not able to keep the reservation. Quite frustrating. Customer service could have been a bit more engaging. It was clear to me this facility is not primarily a U-haul rental center.

The brakes on this truck were in poor condition. When I braked, the truck would lurch forward. The steering is very loose and the mirror is broken. They need to take this truck off the road.

The interior was very dirty. Spilled soda stains, etc..food crumbs, small straw wrappers...needs a good clean out...even the steering wheel was sticky

The only concern I had was the check in process. It took over twenty minutes to get checked in while I waited for someone to approve my information. Would it be possible to have have drivers license and references approved during appointment sign up? The selfie could be taken at the location and still matched during pickup. It might just speed up process.

Obtaining key from exterior lockbox was a bit difficult as it seemed it had weathered. Difficult to spin the dials to obtain the correct code. Took a while.
