The service representative was somewhat rude and told us she would have to charge us for the truck being dirty but it was worse when we received it. We gladly said we would sweep it again and she gave us a 5 inch hand broom we have rented various uhauls over the years but this experience all around has us thinking we will look at all options before renting another one. We had to travel all around to 4 different locations to find boxes and the day before the move we were contacted to tell us we had to pick up the truck 40 miles from where we were supposed to which messed up quite a bit of our moving plans we were just very disappointed with the overall experience.

We were told to drop the truck off at the Wilmot Wi gas station. They are not Uhaul reps. We had to drive another 15 miles to Genoa City, WI and then went over the miles allotted. The lady in Genoa City was extremely helpful.

The location/Representative was fine, although it was 10+ miles from my requested Lake Geneva Pick up location--I understand==that was the closest place I could get requested equipment, but customer has to scramble to get transport at last minute to a different, farther away city?

My pick up location was changed from a location that was 10 minutes from my house to a location that was 40 minutes away. When I called about this I was told that additional miles were added to the agreement to cover the extra distance, miles never was and this resulted in additional charge for mileage. I received a confirmation email that pick up time was 9:00am. I arrived at 9:00am and nobody was there. at 9:15 I called Uhaul and they had field manager trying to contact the owner of location. Finally at 9:30 someone showed up. Never apologized, first words were I need your credit card and drivers license. Was shorted on the number of pads, luckily I counted and went back in before leaving, otherwise I would have been charged for missing blankets. Just a very bad experience on the pick up. It is stressful enough arranging everything to get your daughter off to college, dont need all the extra problems. Mistake after mistake, nobody really seemed to care about my schedule or inconvenience

I dropped this vehicle off on Sunday, August 27, 2018, and your website indicates that this location is open for business on Sundays. I was also informed by the pick-up location in Middleton that this location was open on Sundays. After filling the vehicle up with gas to the exact point that it was at when I picked it up, I dropped the vehicle off at 11:00am on the 27th, which is within the business hours indicated on your website, but no one from Uhaul was there to check me out. I spoke to a cashier who worked in the building where this Uhaul rental location is housed, and she was unable to assist me in any way. I told her that I needed to speak with a Uhaul representative to make sure that I had filled the gas up to the appropriate amount, and to ensure that there would be no additional charges. She assured me that I would not be charged anything additional, and that the lady who ran the Uhaul business would call me in the morning on Monday to formally check me out. By 9:30am on Monday I had not received a phone call, so I called the lady myself and she told me that she would call me back in 10 minutes. She did call me back and informed me that she was going to charge me $25 because the back of the vehicle had not been cleaned, which is untrue, and I informed her that had she showed up to work on Sunday like she was supposed to I could have cleaned the vehicle to any degree necessary. Since I was now 90 minutes away, I asked her if I could have my girlfriend drive over to clean the vehicle, to which she said yes, and I asked her if there would be any additional charges for gas, etc... She assured me that the gas was filled to the appropriate amount and there would be no additional charges. Had the gas been low, I simply would have had my girlfriend drive it to the gas station two blocks away and fill it up, and had she showed up to work on Sunday like she was supposed to, I simply could have done the same thing upon check-out. Nonetheless, my girlfriend had to leave her work in the middle of the day, drive over to this Uhaul dealer, and "sweep" the back of the truck. When she opened the rear door she saw that the vehicle was spotless and there was literally nothing to sweep, yet she obliged the lady and swept air out of the vehicle until she was satisfied. My girlfriend then asked the lady if there would be any charges, and the lady responded, "No." My girlfriend then reached up to close the door, but the latch was now stuck and she was unable to pull the door down. This lady then told my girlfriend that she would have to pay for the door to be fixed, and of course my girlfriend explained to her that she had done no damage to the door and that we would not be paying for anything. She also reminded the lady that when she had inspected the vehicle that morning herself, she opened and closed the door with no issues, confirming that no damage had been done upon drop-off. Took over an hour to get the uhaul. Once we finally got it he gave us no help hooking up the trailer (if I had not toed something before this could have resulted in an accident). We paid for furniture blankets in advance and there were none.

When I arrived clerk did not know how to operate computer system to rent equipment. Clerk had to facetime with someone to explain process, which took entirely too long. Once paperwork was completed I was offered no info or help in hooking up trailer. Luckily I am very familiar with towing, but I can see this being a huge issue with someone who is not. When I returned the trailer another clerk was unsure how to operate computer system and was unable to offer any receipt or proof that I had returned the trailer. The trailer was in excellent condition and worked well for my needs, but if this location was the pickup spot I would not use again.

This isn't u-haul facility, it's a grocery store. Unfortunately the employee working that day was new and not familiar with the process or how to hook up the tow dolly. I had to watch a you tube video and attach it myself. The truck i was about to drive cross country had 98,000 miles on it and thankfully it rained that morning because it also had several leaks. This was not this location's fault, just the way it turned out. I ended up swapping this truck for a newer one with 26,000 miles on it with the help from my local Grayslake location on Washington street which i HIGHLY recommend. I would have completed the transaction with them from the beginning if they'd had a cross country 15' truck when i made the reservation. Despite the sale not being theirs, they did the leg work to get me a more reliable truck from the gurnee location. If you need a truck or storage in Grayslake, they are the way to go! They always go above and beyond and are very helpful.

Where i picked up truck i was there 1 hr and 45 mins. The store clerk was rude, said give me your credit card and didnt give me a total. She had insurance on there that i didnt want and when she went to take it off, she reversed the whole charge in my credit card then tried to rerun credit card and it was declined. So because of holiday my money was put on hold for 5 days. Clerk at store was beyond rude, lit incense and was blowing it at me because i went out to smoke a cigarette and she didnt like that. I made 6 calls to customer service and they finally got it straightened out and store clerk during the process kept answering her cell phone and ignoring me while i was talking to her. Beyond frustrated!!

Was given no paperwork. Upon return, the person who received me was rude. Handed me a broom and said if I don't sweep out the truck bed, I would be charged $25. Whatever I swept out would not have filled up a thimble. I would never set foot in that place again

I was told at the pick-up location that I had to fold the blankets and sweep the truck which I did and the person I the drop off told me that we had to return the blankets in the original plastic bags which we had thrown away because nobody mentioned it at pick-up. The woman was rude and charged me for this ( which I will be disputing!) Didn't know what she was doing and I was there probably an hr just trying to return. I finally walked out! I have rented many times in my life from U-haul and never had any problems. I won't ever be renting again unless these ridiculous return charges are dropped!

The truck was brand new and was great for moving. But the owner at this location overcharged us via a gas charge. The truck was returned with more gas than when we left. I still have the pictures proving it but don't have time to go over there and get a refund on the charges. Just won't use the location again.

Genoa Food location did not seem properly prepared. This appears to be a training and staffing issue at the location as your express check in still took over 30 minutes. Also, it appears the software system your company uses was a huge part of the problem.

The lady tells she is not charging you up front then charges your credit card. Then when you question it at dropped off and you show her your phone showing the charges she ignores you and goes to talk to an other customer about how I should not be standing there.

the contract wasn't explained to me. I didn't know that I had limited miles for the day or that the extra miles were to cost me .$0.40 each. The person renting the vehicle didn't show me which truck was mine or any information or how to use the truck. Over-all, very displeased with U-Haul in general.

The lady on 12/7 was un willing to work at all. I needed to keep the truck until 4p today instead of 9a. She said it would cost me a second day and she would have to finish the paperwork and do a whole new rental for 7hrs today. I also needed to change the payment method yo my credit card for payment. She said that was impossible. I spoke with the Antioch office and they said they could but it was a different district so they can't access an in town. Then I was given an 888 number and the lady there said she couldn't over then phone, but they could when I returned it and if they didn't know how to call traffic. When I told Genoa City Foods I needed to change it they again refused again saying it couldn't be done. I said that they said to have her call traffic if she didn't know how and she refused and charged the other card and was very rude.

I had to help the agent Type in my rental contract. He was a very nice person who knew almost nothing. It took me 44 min to set up the rental. Then I had to talk to the office to recieve a email invoice For their printer was not working. Ps I had to change out thier toner cartridge for him. One more item he didn't know how to do. When I returned and checked out. I saw the goodwill discount. He didn't give me that. I had to show him how to lock up the truck and turn off the interior light. If you want to call me. 262-620-3517

The person i contacted via phone to confirm the reservation was obnoxious. The woman who took care of the transaction the day of rental was wonderful. They are NOT the same person. I could tell by accent.

The people at this location had no idea what they were doing. We went in on Thursday (7/16/15) to reserve a truck for Saturday (7/18/15) and the woman (Susan) charged our credit card for the rental. We picked up the truck on Saturday and a different woman working behind the counter (Dee Dee) told us we needed another credit card to rent the truck.and charged that credit card also. When we returned the truck to a different location the person working there told us of the double charges. I will try and contact UHaul on Sunday (7/19/15) to clear the mess up. Very inconvenient for this customer and will never recommend UHaul to anyone.

The lady who checked us in was super friendly and helpful in getting us the additional moving blankets that were not on the truck. We didn't expect to pick up a truck at a grocery store, but it was quaint and an overall good experience.

I took the trailer off the hitch myself while the lady just looked at me while I was doing this is the rain. She was Indian and sent me an email of a blank receipt and I had to ask for a copy of the receipt I signed. Pretty ridiculous policy of giving me a blank receipt wtf is the point??

I love uhaul and have before used other location-Boat Yard FGox Lake, IL Twisted Pipes, Ringwood, IL But this location took very long to pick up and then to check out. They gave away our first trailor so they gave us another one for someone elses reservation nd said even if you have reservation and someone comes in they will give it to them Strange?

Very Bad took 3 hours to get the truck and they could not find the truck in the system. Then I got the truck and I get a phone call asking if I would like to reserve the same truck I was driving. The I took it back at the time I was asked to bring it back this also took like 2 hours and had to sit around and waste half my day getting a truck to find out I still get billed for the whole day. this was a very poor opportunity for me i would like a refund for all the poor trained and miss handling of my order. I was smart and took pictures of the gas and mileage on the truck so i could send it to U-Haul. I would like to also add that this made for a very very very bad move!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
