Our destination is less than 3 miles mile from the Louis Doe Center on Mills Road in Newcastle. This location was not listed as a drop off choice however. I called UHaul customer service and they gave me a regional number to call to see if we could return the truck to the much closer drop off location. The agent there said only that "it won't let me change to the Mills Road destination." We were forced to drive 45 minutes to Gardiner with no explanation or option to use the far more convenient drop off location. After a long trip this was extremely inconvenient

Steven B.The process for going thru U-Haul at the Gardiner Maine location was great. The folks there were very helpful, the vehicle was in great condition, maintained well, and ran like a champ. However, U-Haul Corp's. process for online application, verification, and all the requirements done by I-phone are cumbersome and frankly, a pain in the rear. Why don't you simply do it at the rental location in person? What if folks don't have an I-phone or are not familiar with taking photos, logging onto U-Haul, or are not conversant with the use of on-line Apps? As I said, no reflection on the Gardiner Rental location and staff, but U-Haul, as a corporation, ought to re-look its procedures. And, oh, BTW, your rates, fees and charges are ridiculously excessive.
KENT B.I had 2 diffrent trucks the first lost its engine . The second had breaks had serious ishues they pulled to the left and would lock up almost causing an accident. I will not recomend Uhaul to anyone $ 4000.00 dollers and the worst move in my life. I should get a refund including the extra night in a Hotel $ 200.00 plus food! Archie Dearborn

This was NOT convenient and frankly disingenuous at the least, or blatantly fraudulent on your part since a one-way from New Castle was never going to happen.

U-Haul Company: The whole "fill the gas to the 1/4 mark" or "to the 7/8 mark" is ridiculous. It should be 100% full every time and then it would be so much easier on the renter to return it as expected. Why make it so difficult? The motto should be "bring it back full, just like it was given to you". That would be so much easier!

We should just drop off the trailer and get the receipt. No complaints from renters. I will drive 1/2 hour to rent from a different uHaul store.

I called to rent a vehicle carrier and was told to my nearest location would be Brunswick Maine as I live in Lewiston the Auburn facility was not available. I was never told a specific time to pick it up. I called Brunswick the day before to verify my item would be ready because I had a long-distance to get my vehicle. Around 9 am a Gardner Facility called and told me I was late to pick up the item this is about 20 miles in the opposite direction from where I was going. I don't know why or how my item got switched to another facility after I already called to verify my Brunswick location. This became very stressful and I needed to rush even more to get to my location whereas I had less time. If I had to rate my experience with u-haul that day from a 1 to 10 as 10 being the best I'd give it a 3.

Beth T.2 tires on the trailer were worn down to the wear bars and had some cracking, the other 2 were new.. Location was closed for drop off Sunday so I did the online check in but that apparently doesn't work very well because I was charged 20.00 late drop off even though I dropped it off early and they have cameras to check. I would rate this as my worst experience with U-haul so far and I've used them about 5 times so far . I did get the owners to reverse the 20.00 fee though after calling. The people who own the business are nice people the experience was mostly on U-Haul.

daniel S.The owner was misinformed about towing capacity of my vehicle, claimed to know all about it and told me what I was doing was dangerous. He was wrong. I know this because I checked--before the rental and after. He was wrong also about the empty weight of *his own* trailer, over-estimating it by about 750 lbs. Just because I did not show up in a quarter-ton or half-ton pickup does not mean I'm an idiot or some city slicker, and he needs to check his facts before he opens his mouth with advice. His wife, the brains behind the operation, it seems, was fine with it. That's because the U-Haul website is preloaded with the GVW and tow cap for my make and model. She double-checked online and the rental went forward. But Mr. Expert had to give me a hard time about it.

Michael B.Overall good experience, but there were three things that I did not like: 1) I first reserved a truck for a one-way rental and originally it didn't tell me what time the truck had to be returned on the second day, so I figured it could be returned at any time that next day. Only when I went into the app to make sure everything was set was I told the truck had to be returned exactly 24 hours later, so I needed to cancel that reservation and make a 2-day local rental, which cost me more. Please fix the system so that it shows the dropoff TIME while making the reservation. 2) when I picked up the truck with the app, there was no way to remove SafeMove from the reservation, even though I definitely did not want it on there, and since I had people coming to help move stuff, I didn't have time to call and fix it (and the store I was picking up from was closed at the time). 3) The reservation mentioned I would be called before the start of the reservationto confirm, but I never once got a phone call.
