Hard to find and parking the truck difficult

Dawn AThe app was super buggy and I got charged for a one way truck even it was supposed to be local. The windows were also dirty :( not that big of an issue versus the app just always glitching out and causing me issues.
Zinnia Nthe 20 foot truck was noisy inside the cab and only got about 8 polluting miles to the gallon but was otherwise fine. generally speaking Uhaul does a good professional job.

Adele SI initially had a mobile pick up reservation I set a day before with another private U-Haul dealer (Rainbow Food Mart, located on 2926 W Devon Ave Chicago, IL 60659) before I switched my reservation with GSpang Trucking. GSpang Trucking saved the day after my prior horrible experience with Rainbow Food Mart dealer not having any trucks available on site. I was in urgent need of a truck immediately and didn't have enough time to wait on the phone or even go online to make another reservation. I went further down the street to GSpang Trucking, as I remembered renting a truck from that location in the past. Gary was able to assist, was fast and had great customer service. I would recommend this location to anyone who is in the area in a heartbeat. Thanks again Gary!!

The app crashed in the middle of the pick up process. And the return would not allow me to upload photos it asked for. Time consuming, wasteful and pretty much useless

YECHIEL PIt was so easy to pick up the vehicle even though it was all done online. Vehicle was super clean and well maintained--had no issues. The associate that met me during vehicle drop-off was fantastic! Provided clear instructions for return. I would absolutely recommend this location to anyone in the Rogers Park/Edgewater area looking for a U-Haul.

Justin SOverall the process went well - although I was confused during the check-in process (via the app) about getting the keys. I didn't realize you needed to confirm the truck first before getting they code for the lock box. Otherwise the process went really well, and definitely appreciated the employee helping to repark the truck after we returned it as parking in the alley is pretty nerve-wracking when you're not used to driving such a large van.
Stephanie TI think that you should have a free lock out service with your rentals and if that is to much then you should not charge 210.00 dollars to get keys out because that is ridicules when I found a lock smith to get them out for 75.00 dollars that is robbery to someone that already is renting your vehicle I would love someone to call me about it and then I was told I was ok and not getting charged because of the keys being lock in vehicle but when I got receipt they charged me for two 19.95 dollar charges I that that was wrong to but I would love a call about everything thanks jim
James BThis is nothing to do with the location but requiring customers to return the van with the app or face a $20 fee is extortion. Thankfully the location was kind enough to help me in this regard.

Alejandra CTruck was filthy. Truck wasn’t wheel aligned properly. No cruise control for a cross country move. We had issues closing and opening the back door at times. Windshield wipers needed to be replaced. I barely could see when it was raining.

Store hours indicated that the location would be closed, and I would have to check out my rental via the app. Not only was the location manager on site, he gladly took me inside to do the paperwork for the truck, and talked me through the finer points of driving in Chicago with a 15 foot UHaul!!

Erin GVery difficult to sign in for the truck. Very difficult to return. So frustrating from start to finish. The process took as long s as the movement of home goods. Was so frustrating. Won’t do this process again.
Carlton BThis location is horribly labeled, the area for small trucks is in an alley with no indicators that that’s where you need to go, and the area for large trucks is hidden off the main road and on a RAISED PLATFORM that has a very tiny, tiny area to get up with. It was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a U-Haul area EVER and made us so incredibly stressed after our move that I could have cried. If it wasn’t for a passerby who just so happened to know where we needed to go, we never would have been able to figure out what to do as the place wasn’t even open with a “coming soon” sign on it — even though it’s where we were directed as our original return location was full!
