I had a very bad overall experience with UHaul on this rental. I originally reserved a 5x8 trailer (on-line) on 7/22/22 under confirmation number 25589540 and put a preference of picking it up on 8/28 in Gardnerville, NV. I received a call from UHaul on 8/27 stating my trailer would not be in Gardnerville, but would be in South Lake Tahoe, CA for pickup on 8/29. A confirming text followed that call. While it was not my preferred location, I drove the 45 miles to South Lake Tahoe to pick up the trailer and arrived 5 minutes early. I was told that they did not have a trailer for me. The closest one was over 100 miles away. I was very upset and called UHaul, but hung up after being on hold for 45 minutes. I went back in the South Lake Tahoe store and appealed for some help. It so happened that there was another customer there who was canceling a trailer and renting a truck. She asked if I wanted the trailer, even though it was only 4x8 instead of the 5x8 I had reserved. I said yes and the store manager set it up for my pickup in Reno the next morning. So I drove the 45 miles back to my house, and the next morning I drove another 100 miles round trip to pick up the trailer. Luckily, it was there. My biggest complaints are (1) why wasn't my trailer at the place I was told it would be, and (2) why wasn't I called to say it wasn't at South Lake Tahoe before I drove the 2 hour round trip there? If it wasn't for the â€œluckyâ€ fact that another customer canceled a trailer, I would have not gotten a rental. I drove an extra 200 miles (about $80 in fuel costs, plus my time) to finally get a trailer. It was a horrible experience.Dave L.

Having rented the same Trailor in the last 1 1/2 years for a 6 hr period, I would have hoped that all the personal data gathered a the first rental would be in your computer system. However, my most recent rental proved that nothing was saved and took to long to complete the paper work. Please get some help with your computer system to streamline this process!Robert L Bob E.

The uhaul was acting up. It said to check the gas cap which I did and it seemed fine. I prayed to make it back. It was spuddering. The inside was dirty it had potato chips on the floor board and the dash.Laura D.

The equipment was in excellent condition. The 15' truck I rented handled very well on the highway. The staff over at Friendly Auto Center in Mesa AZ were very professional. I would like to thank them all for their service.ARTHUR S.
I was very disappointed when I was contacted a couple of days before I was to pick up the trailer and told it would not be available as there were no trailers available in the area, unless I wanted to drive 2 hours to Tucson and pick one up. I was told someone wasn't turning the trailer in on time. Because I was not able to get the trailer and leave on the day I planned I was charged for a non-refundable hotel of $200 that I had to cancel as I did not have the trailer. I was told by the person at U-Haul headquarters that she would credit me $50. This was not enough for the hotel charges, but she said it was all she could do. The place where I picked up the trailer could not provide the credit as that was from corporate so I am wondering when I get the credit? Also, what is being done to prevent this from happening again?Philip S.

I know Memorial weekend was a busy weekend, but I reserved a 15' truck 6 weeks before I needed it to insure of getting one. The day before I was called and told they were all out of 15' trucks, but I could drive an additional 150 miles to pick one up. I finally had to go with a 10' truck and make arrangements to have other vehicles available to move the items which did not fit in the 10' truck. I was charged the same cost for the 10' as I was paying for the 15'. The person that called to make the reservation could careless if I got a truck or not. This issue had nothing to do with Friendly Auto Center, this is a UHaul problem. My son rented a trailer for this weekend also, and he had to drive 200 miles out of his way to get a trailer. I am so frustrated, disappointed and annoyed with UHaul I will check Hertz/Penske first before checking with UHaul.Ron B.

Friendlys is actually very friendly staff. I don't recommend mobile check in as it is too complicated but that is a uhaul issueChristopher R.
The truck was very dirty inside. Had to sweep the whole thing and clean up an oil like substance that was all over. I was not able to submit my pictures at pick up but I was very unsatisfied with the truck condition.Angela S.

The equipment was filthy and defective. The trailer had garbage and oil inside. Oil had collected on the outside right fender.The floor was loose. We had to have road service out twice before we could even start our journey. I washed the equipment inside and out. The surge brakes did not function. We had to pick up a day early because they may not have a trailer for us if we didn't take that one. They said the other equipment was inside the trailer already, turns out it wasn't. We ended up with seven blankets, not the two dozen we ordered. To sum it up, your agent dumped a piece of equipment on another market to get rid of it. While there were better pieces of equipment around, those were local use only. To have to have road service come to my home twice to get your equipment road worthy ( not knowing at the time that the surge brakes did not function) after having to clean it ourselves is unacceptable. Agents that allow shoddy equipment to be dispatched should be disciplined. I am very satisfied with your road service providers. They were friendly and professional. They went the extra mile to get things fixed for our two thousand mile journey. The fact is I shouldn't have had to clean or maintain the equipment in the first place.Paul S.

Just a note. This was not my original location pick up. I went to the location I was told to pick up from and was told they didn't have a truck for me because of maintenance. They called Uhaul and luckily there was another 26' available close to us. I should have been notified of this ahead of time as my pickup took an hour to do.Brian W.

I tried your no contact, 24/7 rental pick up and the links did NOT work so I ended up having to go inside the location anyways where they charged me for the rental. Not too big of a deal, but because of this, I was not able to complete the return process on my phone as you would have charged me a second time for the rental. I haven't seen an additional charge for not completing the return process so again, not that big of a deal. But I would like to point out the guy who helped me inside the location stated all I needed to do was drop the keys off. So if I still don't see an additional charge, thank you and this will be the last you hear from me about this experience. :) Thank you!Alexandra H.

I did the after hours checkin and that experience could have been better. It would have been nice to know prior to me pulling into the parking lot to know that I needed a second form of photo ID or another way to verify who I am. I scheduled the rental a week before I needed the truck so I could be ready for our move and I feel like the checkin process could have been betterRyan H.
