Inform customers of the $20 after hour drop off charge up front. On weekends you will have to pay this extra fee or pay for an extra day unless you can complete your move in 5 hours since the location closes at 2:30. Ridiculous especially for a trailer rental.GREGORY Z.
The trailer worked well, and the representative at the location was very helpful. However, I would like to know beforehand what other equipment is needed. In my case using the motorcycle trailer, I needed my own ratchet straps, (thankfully I already knew this) and an adapter for plugging in the lights (which I had to buy at the location, expensively).DEBORAJOAN S.

Individual assisting in the final details to check out the truck was speaking in another language with some one on his phone while half helping me and was pushy about my pulling the appliance dolly out of the store instead of giving some assistance when I couldn't direct it out the way he was all but pushing me to go. The truck was parked in the back and I was left to go find it, pick up the heavy dolly and put it in the truck on my own. Now I'm not little and no slouch with what I can lift but a little help would have been nice, I understand COVID and all but really........SAMANTHAEASTRIDG V.

The drop off location was closed at the appointed business hours. I dropped off on day 2 of a 2 day rental, called UHaul and was told to go back the next day - I did (a 30 mile drive one way) and no one there. This was the worst U-Haul experience I've ever had. The man was screaming and yelling at me and my son because he told us that we were responsible for parking the vehicle and trailer into its designated place in his parking area. We have no experience backing a truck and trailer into a narrow parking space. He literally stamped his foot and screamed at us. I finally told my son to just forget it and I turned in the truck and trailer via the web. I told the guy that it wasn't our responsibility to back up the truck and trailer into a small parking area behind his store. He was incredibly rude.Dawn F.

The ONLY thing I have to say about this drop off was I got charged for an after hours drop fee of $20.00 which WASNT my fault! i dropped my truck off the night before it was due back and tried to check my truck back in using my U-haul APP. All went well EXCEPT the app wouldn't allow me to upload the photos for my mileage and odometer reading. I allowed ALL permissions on my app and it wouldn't let me upload. Long story short, i shouldn't have been charged an after hours fee when dropped off a day early and the app wouldn't work correctly. The app knew I dropped the truck off because i got my receipt 30 minutes after drop-off via e-mail so again not happy with this experience at all.JOHNKIRKWOOD S.

It would have been nice that the rental unit was available when and where I rented it. Was told it was ready for me in Radford and when I got there, there was no trailer. This is second time this has happened. If I was notified to go somewhere else, that would have all the difference. Instead I wasted two hours waiting around. Not good service.MARTINV R.

So we did not choose this place for pick up. We picked a place closer to our daughters apartment. This was unfortunately 25 minutes out of our way. Then when we were checking in the person checking us in tried to charge us for insurance without asking. Luckily I remembered the original cost that I booked at and was able to correct the situation. I chose this drop-off because it was advertised as a 24/7 location, but when I got there at 4 pm on a Saturday, I was surprised the shop was closed and no personnel there. I found the instructions on-line for dropping off with no one present, but it would have been nice to have those sent to me beforehand. Once I had the instructions, it was very easy.GEOFFREYDUANE K.

Salesperson was extremely rude!!! Lied about the mileage when mentioned he said he would fix it then got in the truck laughed and said I owed him $200 I drove only 20 miles ( I tracked it personally and my insurance Geico tracks my drives) he charged me for 30 miles then lied about the gas gauge which I took pictures of before and after. Even then I scheduled my pick up for 10am unfortunately I ran into traffic and he called me at 10 on the dot and said â€œAre you coming it's 10 am and you no come.â€ I said I'm coming I'm in traffic my eta is 12 noon! At 12:00 on the dot he calls and I don't answer because I'm turning the corner to the entry away he proceeds to call my phone 3 times back to back and once I answered I said hello yes sir I'm coming, I'm walking in now! As he was getting everything together he was digging in his mouth as if we aren't in the middle of an pandemic then I never signed anything we never went over anything he literally just handed me the keys which was very strange so I took pictures of everything before I left maybe an hour later I received the contracts and I called and told him that the odometer and the contract read different miles . It was off by about 10-12 miles. He said okay I'll take care of it. Once I returned I said it again to him and he said the same thing we went out to the truck and then he told me $200. I asked how was my total $200 he laughed at me and said I'll send email. I said why can't you just tell me now. He then said â€œI'll send email! Then I asked for a manager and corporate and as I stood there he said you need to give me the money right now and I asked him to explain it and I have no problems he said you know what I'll use the credit card on file which declined because I wanted to know what I was being charged for he then said you know what you give me my money now and I call police. I said go ahead and asked him for corporates information. Which he just laughed at me then I walked to my vehicle and called my mother and he took pictures and videos of my car then went inside the shop. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I'm a frequent U-Haul customer and this was ridiculous!!!TANIYANICHELLE U.
I got no help when my keys got stolen the road side assistance gave the wrong information to make the key so it didn't fit. I left a letter explaining everything when I dropped it off. The single individual working at the defunct food store where the trailer was located did not speak or understand English well. I only wanted the trailer from Saturday until Tuesday but he charged me for an extra day. He was n help with trying to connect the trailer with my truckJohn H.

I'm a little upset about his whole experience. I returned the trailer at approx 8am on Sunday morning. Where I was, I didn't have a good cell signal and internet wasn't setup at the move in location.so checking it in early online was not an option. I had to drive back over to this location after the store opened at 10am to check it back in. Mind you, I had the trailer until 7pm but elected to take it back early because I know of the high demand only to be penalized (my time/gas, etc.) for it. This location was 25 minutes away from where the move occurred. U-Haul needs to revisit this policy, especially when turning equipment back in well before the deadline to help U-Haul out.Keith W.

When i rented the auto hauler the U haul Rep could not speak English well had a hard time understanding him also had to wait for the Rep to come back after leaving to take is daughter to school costing be 20 min of my time. I had to wait nearly an hour to get the van because the dealers equipment would not take the payment so he had to call another location to do the paperwork (hence I didn't receive a copy of the agreement until later). The interior of the van was filthy. Looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in a while. The windshield was covered with ice and snow which I had to clean off because the dealer had nothing to clear it off with. That took an additional 20 minutes. When I returned the vehicle I was charged for 45 miles. The move from one apartment to the other was about 3 miles. We made2 trips...12 miles.. I also used my car during the move and and even counting the trip there from my home in Salem, Va I only had a total of 53.1miles. I am totally disappointed with the service and condition of the vehicle.JOHNERNEST C.

Firstly, I would make sure to contact the location of pickup to make sure that they are cooperating with the uhaul contracts. I had to change my location because the one I initially chose was not open on time, had no cell service, and also didn't pick up the phone when I called from a place with cell service. There was also another person waiting there to return equipment that also couldn't get in contact with the location. This location was Rick's Garage in Christiansburg, VA. I had to end up changing my location to a different one and had to delay my move for 1.5 hours because of this.Trinity C.

Truck was covered in bugs, cargo area was dirty, mud tracks left, cabin had mud left. Didn't get link to verify condition until after I got it home, mileage was incorrect, couldn't dispute because again, link wasn't received until after I got home. I do have picture of correct mileage out.Justin J.

This location was very dark and was very dirty and old the gentleman that was at this location was very hard to understand there was a language barrier and was on his phone all the time and was only interested in his phone I asked about a credit for returning the truck early had no answer. I called your 800 number earlier and got no customer service at all I spoke to Christina I had explain to her truck was pulling to left she told me that I had done something to your truck and then hang up on me. I then called the Allentown stir spoke to Logan who also gave me no customer service and hang up me as well. This was the worse experience I have had with a trunk rental company.SEAN R.

I bumped into an awning (no damage to the truck) and it fell. I had bought your Safemove insurance, which had an exclusion for overhead accidents. This must have been in the fine print. I find this to be sleazy. However, I learned that there was a court ruling stating the rental vehicle companies must cover such accidents if they occur in Virginia. I hope that UHaul will step up. drop off : we ended up overfilling the tank to make sure we were not short.....but put an extra $20 in *facepalm* I know you charge extra if you do not bring back the truck to AT LEAST where you picked it up, butbi wish you would also offer a credit if you put too much in. (It was like 11/16 or something when we picked it up. But we dropped it off at 3/4)Ronald G.
agent is very rude, the location is run down and very congested, don't know why so much inventory is there. no room to pull in and back trailer, had to back it almost a hundred yards to the far end of the lot, the place where the agent wanted the trailer parked was on a incline and provided no chocks for the trailer and he would not disconnect the unit from my truck, as soon as I picked up the tongue from the ball the trailer rolled into my truck and was very difficult to get the tongue on the ground at which time the trailer roller under my truck. this agent stated it was not his job to disconnect the trailer and just walked away, he is going to get someone hurt and get you sued.James B.
