To begin, the manager of the Folsom Uhaul location has had poor reviews in the past but I was limited on who to use since there aren't many available in the area. Took a chance and it was a HUGE ordeal because of his negligence. First the manager was very rude and condescending (people warned me of this and I found it to be true when I called to just make sure my rental was even thereâ€"which some had complained about happening to them as he questioned why I was even calling him saying it should all be “easily done by phone.” Then when I got there and it was taking forever to go through the phone process because my internet kept dropping the signal, he basically comes out and tells me how he didn't understand why I was having such a hard time since so may before me would have been done by now and I should have been gone already. Worse still, he clearly doesn't even check the trucks he manages! If he did he would have seen that a half a tank of fuel was missing and/or that the fuel line had been completely cut and gas had been stolen prior to my picking up the rental. Other than missing 1/2 a tank of gas, I had NO idea about any issues until I had already loaded up the truck and wanted to fuel up before the the trip home. When I did, gas came POURING out underneath when I tried filling the tank! Checked underneath and saw that someone had tampered and cut entirely through the truck's fuel line (I was luckily nothing happened or didn't happen to stop over someone's discarded cigarette). By then it was already getting dark with me tired and waiting in an empty parking lot praying for a return call from roadside assistance saying that something could be done. Thankfully my son wasn't far on the return journey home and could come back to help me out. Spoke with Reina (my savior) at Uhaul who was a TREMENDOUS help though we found out it wasn't going to be until the next day that someone could come out to fix the truck. I then had to leave ALL my valuables that I had packed in the back of the truck and pray no one broke into it or that it doesn't get towed from its location after being left there overnight and go home. I then had to make a SECOND trip up to retrieve the truck (2 hours away) in order to turn right around after it was fixed and drive it to our place. Bottom line? Fire that guy from Folsom and give Reina a raise!

I reserved a truck days in advance. Called daily to make sure everything was good to go. Each time I called they messed up the time on the reservation. When it was finally the day to pick up the truck I called to verify, they didn't have one available at the time I needed. They said I was supposed to pick it up earlier (which was. Not the time I reserved it). Ended up calling multiple times with 20-30+ minutes waiting on hold to get told sorry we can't help you, or getting hung up on multiple times. After 4 hours on hold I finally got a truck in the next city over which costed me more money in gas and mileage. Very unprofessional and shitty service all together.

Use a lot with better markings notifying a qualifying U-Haul drop off site. Current location lacks any signage for UHaul and looks like an abandoned truck repair lot. Nobody was in office when I arrived at 3:15pm local time. Eventually a man came out and was helpful to complete the return, very talkative actually. But the return lot should have an obvious U-Haul return signage.

Garbage customer phoneline service, a problem shouldn't require a 2 hour hold time. Owner of store that leases them helped us when he saw us waiting outside. Garbage customer line.
