we move our stored belonging from one location to another, in Alberta. 100 mile distance. The contract was for 2 days as dictated by UHAUL. We returned the truck after 8 hours. I called them when I received a copy of the check in invoice and asked for a credit for the second day and was told no. We allow for two days and this is what you were charged even if you didn't need it for the two days. I was also told that if you were moving to Kelowna you are allowed 8 days. If you only need it for 4 days you still pay for the 8 days'. RENTER BE AWARE.Barry M.

Though the person was very helpful I was frustrated to get an additional mileage charge of $20 to drop it off in Innisfail. When I picked up the UHall in Lethbridge,dispatch number: 59328, I was told that I could drop the truck off in Didsbury by 1 pm on August 11th. At 9 am on August 10th, after already using the UHall to move, I was informed that I couldn't drop it off in Didsbury. My only options were Innisfail or Calgary. I was not given a reason or offered anything for the inconvenience. I had to drive an extra 30 minutes more than I had anticipated to drop it off. I would have chosen another rental service if I knew that I would have a bunch of extra charges.Cassandra B.

There is rarely anyone at this location which is why we opted for mobile pick up. The mileage was incorrect on the app and it took an hour to figure out how to proceed. The agents on chat told us to take pics of dashboard mileage and be on our way. This ultimately made it so we had difficulty returning the truck as well. With no one to talk to to help us it was frustrating to say the least. And yes we were on hold with the Uhaul help line for over an hour which is why we had to use the app chat. If someone would have double checked the mileage everything would have been fine.Leroy D.

This location was very convenient for my needs, and were extremely accommodating! The truck I rented was not particularly clean, but was well-maintained. The woman working the desk was very pleasant and changed my reservation needs for me with no issues. Should I ever need to rent another moving truck in Innisfail, I won't hesitate to use them again.Kristine C.

I booked well in advance to pick up my U-Haul in Red Deer Alberta at the beginning of September. The day before my move, U-Haul called and had my U-Haul 83 kms away in a different community (Didsbury). This was not going to work for me so I had to cancel my reservation that I made weeks in advance and had to take the U-Haul 36kms away instead in a town called Innisfail. The U-Haul truck windows were not very clean and the truck exterior was not very clean. I was so upset that I had to basically do U-Haul's job and find me another truck that was closer. (THIS WAS NOT THE FAULT OF THIS LOCATION THAT I HAD TO COME TO IT. UHAUL BASICALLY SCREWED ME OVER) I feel I should be compensated in gas not only for having to drive my personal vehicle 70 kms to pick up the uhaul (round trip) and had to pay for the gas in the uhaul to bring it to Red Deer.Michael P.

Price in Innisfail...44 dollars base price. Price in downtown Red deer...160 dollars. When I asked why it cost 50 dollars more to rent a dolly for 6 hours local tban it cost me a week ago to rent the same item in BC to haul my car 450 miles and have it for three days I was told, "supply and demand". I replied, "supply and gouge". So I went a short distance to Innisfail and paid one quarter of the price.Eldon Z.

The car hauler I rented was in poor condition. The hitch jack was seized, very difficult to use to raise and lower the hitch. The ratchet straps were installed backwards from the previous rental. This cause me over two hours of work to untangle the two straps required to tie the cars front wheels down to the car hauler. The license plate was bent and hanging on by one bolt! My previous rentals have been good. This experience was terrible and I would hope the dealers start maintaining the equipment they rent. Safety concerns are essential!Anthony P.

I had a 26 foot truck reserved for moving stuff today. It was suppost to be at the yard ready for me for 9:30 am. At 9:45 am I went into the office to see where the truck was and I was told my reservation disappeared. So then I asked if I could take the 10ft truck in the yard. I was told yes. So then the lady called uhaul traffic and told me that uhaul canceled my reservation without my permission. Then uhaul traffic told the lady in the office for me to go to Red Deer to grab a cargo van. The lady in the office told them that she would deal with it because she know I needed a moving TRUCK not a cargo van. So after that I got the 10ft truck and I pull up to the storage unit and there is no ramp, so I'm livid and have a bunch of heavy stuff. I got done moving at 3pm. I went by the yard and there was my 26 ft moving truck. I think uhaul should get there stuff organized and be better with customer service. I'm not happy at all with uhaul what a gong show it has been.Tyler R.
I understand due to coronavirus everyone needs to be more careful. But to blatantly watch my wife struggle with your trailers that do not have jacks while your representative stands there and watch's is outrageous. My wife is not strong enough and all she asked for was a little help. What would happen if my wife's back that was surgically fixed from hockey gave out? I'm pretty sure this location would be liable in some way. To make this experience even better the lady representing your business was extremely rude and Abrasive towards my wife. I don't write negative reviews often but to have employees that can't even rise to the occasion to help a customer is ridiculous and if I had that mentality I would be out of business. I know these are trying time's for everyone and I'm sure the lady in question is having a bad day, but if you don't even have blocks to chalk tires or help hitch/unhitch is completely ludicrous. The trailer I rented was clean enough, though I still need to sweep it out before using it. The trailer is quite old and tired though. The light were functional but pushed in out of their rubber mounts. The chains were too long. I had to be creative so they did not drag. And I have a tall truck. I could see daylight through the front lower corner and the floor was starting to get weak. This unit is about due to be rebuilt or retired from the fleet.Greg R.

Where to start?.... The reservation was cancelled because I was at work and couldn't answer my cell phone on time. I had a confirmation email but was never informed that it was cancelled. By the time I showed up to pick up my unit, it was gone to another customer. I was â€œaccommodatedâ€ a bigger unit for the same price but it did not fit in the driveway - hence the reason I chose a smaller one in the first place - and was terrible on gas. When I picked up the vehicle, it was covered in ice and snow and I had to use my own vehicles scrapper to prepare it for my use. The paperwork showed the wrong kilometre useable and the wrong gas level - both of which were lower than what was on the sheet. The back door was so caked in ice that it took a half hour to open when I got to the location. When I finally returned the vehicle - I was told to go fill it up with more gas, even though I returned it with the amount I left with. I was also told that if here was any additional charges it would be added to my credit card. Very unprofessional overall.Tiffany T.

We didn't have the correct electrical hookup on our truck despite your online service telling us that the truck model could haul the trailer. You then charged us 10$ for a flimsy plastic adapter which should just be included in the rental.Kevin B.

Very unprofessional service, harrassive from the beginning. Will be finding any alternative to renting from U-Haul again. Uhaul should really consider customer care and satisfaction, as they are creating a huge market for another company to come in and take potential customers due to poor customer care. Customer representatives need to stop operating from their egos, and power tripping, and trying to pick fights with customers, there is a deep need for customer service representatives to grow up. When we pick up trailer service was very good ,trailer not clean,but when my husband return trailer on Sunday morning seller don't understand how much deposit he have to give back it have to be $60 he try to give $20 and my husband bring resit and sow him he still give deposit for my husband $59 not $60 ???IGOR B.
Have them do a walk around with customers before they leave the site with the unit. The back was not swept before I got it, a cigarette butt in the cab. And scratches that were not stickered or reported on my rental agreement. I made sure to sweep it out, and have the cab cleaned, but I doubt they fully inspected it after the last person rented it, which could come back to haunt an innocent renter if it is not taken care of and they are given the impression to leave it in the same condition they got itBrandon M.

I ordered a 20' truck, wasnt there when I went to puck it up, had to have a 15' which made an extra trip, which lost me guys helping. Computers froze 4 times. Debit machine didnt work, had to leave and go get cash. Wasnt the best experience, caused alot of extra work on my end , 2 days moving instead of one. Guy running the place was great thoughToby A.

I was given a free 2 day extension in Ontario and when I returned the trailer before the time frame I was charged a late fee when I even produced the documents showing the free extension.... was then told i would be contacted Monday.... nothing..... just more frustration added to my completely horrific experience with uhaulBrandy M.
This is a terrible experience. We originally booked a 26' truck several weeks before the weekend we needed it. When it came to the weekend U Haul called and advised there was not a 26' truck in the area but they had a 20' truck available. She also stated that because we had to make an extra trip U Haul would credit us for the extra mileage and not charge us for it. Ultimately we have been charged for the extra mileage. The personal at the Leduc drop off location were useless and could not help. Tried phoning U Haul Edmonton customer service and could not talk to anyone there?????Ed T.

I was told i would have it for 24 hrs an i was given from 4pm to 9am the next am i never even used the milage at all or gas an asked to be given the deal i was quoted on the phone an i was told no i still need a uhaul an i am out that 70 dollars i want what i was offered an told was the dealRobin G.
I would NEVER recommend Uhaul to ANYONE. Uhaul cost me approx. 500$ in time off work, time on the phone and gas (on top of the trailer rental). I will stress I am not someone who ever writes reviews, good or bad, but the service I received from Uhaul was Unacceptable. The trailer itself was fine, however the service and professionalism was the worst i've ever received; I work in the service industry and I would have lost my job over the treatment I received. Employees give false information and obscure notes are in your file. Their terrible system doesn't give you an accurate location and time and it is only confirmed the day before! (don't believe anything the employees say in advance or confirmation emails, as it will change!) Spoke with upper management customer service (took me 4 times calling in with no call backs, and refused to hang-up until I was addressed) and they said that no financial compensation would be given as I had received and dropped off the trailer. They did not take any accountability for the errors their employees made and that it resulted in soooo much headaches and financial loss for us 2 days before moving across canada! As long as they get paid and they have their equipment they don't care about their customers. Customer service is a waste of time... I did not feel like I was treated properly or fairly. According to their records everything has been resolved. If everything doesn't go perfectly I guarantee you will regret choosing Uhaul.JULIE M.
