Lost an hour because the system wouldn’t allow them to print the documents. Door was not locking properly! He started watching movie and handling personal things rather than trying to sort the issue.

My reservation was for 10am on July 14th. Originally it was for the University City location and I got a phone call two days ago saying to go to this location, which is out of my way. I arrived at 10am. Nothing was open. I called and called for the next 15 minutes. No answer. Finally the door opens at almost 10:20. No apology for the late start. It’s ridiculous.

The location was fine, but U-haul sucks! I reserved a truck for 7am pickup on the 30th using the U-haul 24/7 truck share (app check in + key pickup via code). I had to be out of my apartment by 12pm, so that would give me plenty of time to pack.... Except, I received a call from U-haul on the 29th around 6pm saying I couldn't pick up the truck until 10am when the pick-up location opened. I spent an hour waiting on hold to talk to an agent to try and pick up the truck somewhere else earlier, but was told there were none available before 10. So, I was angry about the change, but accepted it. Additionally, my rental time was shortened by 3 hours (the drop off time was not extended) without my knowledge. Upon my arrival at the pickup location at 10am on the 30th, it was closed and no one was around. A lady at a junk store next door happened to know someone at the detail shop and called them up. I was told that they had prepared the truck the night before, the key was in the truck, and the app should give me a code to unlock the keypad on the truck! "Why did U-haul tell me otherwise?" I raged. Well, after checking in with the app it tells me to "please see U-haul attendant for key". WTF? So I go back to the junk shop, ask the lady to call the person from the detailing shop again, and thankfully get the code over the phone. All this hassle picking the truck up cost another 20 min off my rental. Of course I didn't make it out of my apartment by 12, so my leasing company was mad they couldn't start painting the apartment right away and I barely had enough time to rush-unload everything at my new apartment before returning the truck. Again, the pick-up location was fine. I blame U-haul.
