The approval process is very slow when using the app, every time. Also the app does not always allow a photo to be uploaded in order to show the reported fuel level or cleanliness are incorrect. THis forces you to accept the condition or lose the rental. This could allow customers to avoid cleaning the vehicle or filling the tank, if there is no accountability. It took me more than 45 minutes to do the rental. It was ac24/7 rental and the experience has me considering using 9ther truck rental companies. I'd rate the overall experience a 0 on a scale of 1 to 10. If I have to do another "automated" rental again it would keep from using uhaul. I really don't appreciate when making things easier for the company comes at the price of horrible customer experience. It is obvious to me that uhaul is trying to save operating expenses by putting yhat operating expense on the customer. Uhaul, I have been using you for years, but no more.David C.
Worst rental experience EVER! I RESERVED a 10' box truck online. Showed up next day to pick up. I was informed my reservation was transferred to remote pick-up. I was told to create an online account for info. The Ace Hardware in Falmouth, Maine refused to help personally. Only said "call remote for help." What?? This is crap. I'm at another location, I don't have a cell phone signal, Ace associate refused to let me join the stores to access internet, bullshit! Finallt took a call to "remote" or whatever the hell that is. Represented helped me unlock door via lock and get started. 1 HOUR LATER... Returned truck, dropped keys off, im on my way. But wait, there's more. I drove 64 miles at .99 cents/ a mile. And was charged 19.95$ for the day. That's $83.31. NOT $143.65. WGAT THE "F"? BULLSHIT. I've been responding to my receipt online as required. But does anyone reply? Fuck no. Criminals...Noel R.

I ordered a dolly to go with the van, but it was not in the van at time of pickup (pickup was after hours for location). When I returned the van (via phone) I noted the missing item. I was still charged for 1 day's rental of the dolly even though I never had it to work with. I do not hold the site responsible because they did not have anything to do with my rental.Diane M.

As your records should show I use Uhaul on a regular basis. Being in the military we moved frequently using uhaul and never had any concerns. Since then I continue to use uhaul if ever needed. This is the first time I used this location ( Falmouth Maine ) and was not welcomed. The representative acted put out that I was in the store. He was insisting that all transactions were online and wouldnt listen when I attempted to talk. A family member and I used uhaul last week and I know that everything online wasnt true. I tried to explain, however he didny want to hear it and said I was all set and to just take it. Upon my return, being after hours, I called uhaul.com/share to assist with turn in. I knew it wasnt properly checked out as i had the option of cancelling my reservation. The gentleman on the phone sent an email to me as I had to take pictures and send them in. He also confirmed that it had not been "dispatched". I wanted to do the right thing. I will continue to use uhaul, however I will NEVER use Falmouth Maine location again.Jeffrey L.
Uhaul rep in store was upset we came into store instead of checking in online! The van was dirty inside. It had not been cleaned or disinfected between people using it! Not safe during COVID 19! We had to do it ourselves!Gary T.
The van had clearly not been cleaned before we rented it. TheRe were food crumbs inside and worse, a dirty used Band-Aid on the floor. I wouldn't expect them to clean it perfectly every time but in the middle of a pandemic, it seems like someone should've just given it a once over and removed obvious possible sources of contamination. A more knowledgeable staff, a uhaul training would seem to go a long way there. I had called the day before to pay for everything, make sure there would be a truck available, spoke to â€œthe uhaul guyâ€ as her referred to himself, and got everything squared away. I was told the equipment would be ready to be picked up at 9am. The day of, I went online, completed the information with my ID, made payment, etc. then when I arrived at the location they stated they didn't know what truck to give me, they couldn't log onto the computer, told me I'd have to wait till the owner called them back.. it wasn't till I suggested for them to call the uhaul hotline and speak to someone there. Finally after getting through they proceeded to talk on the phone and ask about their computer systems while I waited in the store for over 45 minutes. Overall experience was horrendous.JACOB D.

out of the way for me in an Ace Hardware store with limited hours. I asked to keep the truck an additional day and was told I couldn't because it was already reserved. There are at least 5 UHaul locations within 5 miles of my house, find it hard to believe they didn't have another truck in one of those stores. I forgot to mention the roof leaked rain onto one of my dressers, Fortunately it was a painted finish so there was no damage,MARILYN W.
The rep was very nice when I picked it up. When I dropped it off however the rep argued with me that there was a full tank tank of gas when there was only a 1/2 a tank when I picked it up. Luckily I videotaped the entire truck and took pictures of mileage and gas when I picked truck up and I had to show him. He told me I could just leave and he had my credit card info and he would just send me the receipt. Luckily I stayed around because he would have charged me for a 1/2 tank of gas.danielle B.

The origial pick up as in South Portland. I was there at 7:30 for an 8:30 scheduled pickup and sat in front of the store until an employee arrived st 8:00 am. Iwalked in with him and asked him if the door was opened already and he said yes. The place had no lights on and looked closed and there was a guysitting there right where I was parked , but he never said s too lonvome on in. I was then told the 26 foot truck I reserved was in Falmouth Me. I didn't get an email or text notifying me of the change. I said could youcalland make sure the truck is there and he sais we dont do that because the hold . The rep also said we really sellcars here and the truck rental is just a side business. The guy in Falmouth Ace Hardware Uhaul was great. I will shop around the next tie I need a truck because of the uncaring attitude of the South Portland rep.Bruce D.

My reservation once confirmed was changed numerous times, none of the local rental places new anything about my, reservation. I my preferred location was Marginal Way, Portland, ad to avoid any confusion. The reservation was scheduled for a different location, a different time, different days, different truck. Then it was changed again! I was told I would be compensated for the additional mileage by reservation specialist Wendy, I was not. I was also told I could return the truck to Margibal way. Then told I could not. Moving is stressful and expensive enough, without added hassles and expensive inconveniences like my U-Haul experience.Greta B.
