ALLEN H.This location was wonderful to ensure that we got the truck we reserved at the time we reserved it for even though corporate, without asking us ahead of time, changed our reservation time from early morning to mid afternoon. This kind of change is not acceptable when people have set up moving help at two separate locations based upon the original reservation time.
Richard B.One representative was slower than molasses. The other capable. The first trailer had faulty lights so they had me dehitch and then rehitch to another. The time to get in and out of this location is so slow that it really makes us think hard about even using it. Even with advance online check in.
Charles H.The trailer that we rented was clean but the lights did not work all the time. There was a shot in them some where. Would come on when on gravel for the short 10 minutes drive.

Jim B.My pickup time was at 1:00. The only employee that can handle Uhaul exchanges currently at that store decided to take a half hour lunch at 12:56. So I had to wait for a half hour for him to come back.
NATHAN P.1) U-Haul website for self check-in would cycle through all but the final step, then go blank, making the transaction online impossible. I had to go into the store to complete check-in. 2) Staff at this location is short in supply and knowledge. They really need to be trained better. 3 I suggest that UHaul open another store in Fairfield that is dedicated to rentals and has knowledgeable staff that shows some interest in customers. This True Value location's rental staff is generally confused as to how to navigate the software as well as showing great disinterest in helping customers. Transactions take an unusually long time there. I along with many others, will quite often drive 20 miles to the next town for truck rentals just to avoid dealing with the staff at True Value in Fairfield.
TERESA B.The truck was not clean. The rear wheels were caked with mud. The drivers side cab had mud splattered all over it. The steps to get in were caked with mud. The interior floor on the drivers side was caked with mud from boots.There was mud splattered on the passenger side box. There was a sticky spill in the box on the floor.

When he finally did he barely apologized for his tardiness. Poor customer service by the one person that should care.

JONAH J.The truck cab had a terrible, nasty “wet dog-like†smell, we had to drive with windows down…it was that bad! The 24/7 check-in process took at least 15 min. to get the lock box code after I submitted everything they asked. I didn't get ANY of the extras that I ordered online the week prior! No furniture dollies, blankets or an extra dollie. I didn't know that I wasn't getting them until I picked it up the morning of the move and they weren't in the truck!! (This was all before the store opened!) So now what am I supposed to do!?!?! You shouldn't ask if people need these extras if you can't deliver!! Or if you can't deliver, let me know when I MAKE the reservation, so I can make other arrangements, not let me find out when I pick the truck up!!
Kyle G.My trailer was in terrible shape, but I don't blame the location. I took a similar trailer from them the day before and it was great. This trailer I got today, however, made terrible sounds like it's going to collapse. I returned it very early and called U-Haul for a refund. U-Haul said to speak with the location, but the location said only U-Haul can help with that. In the meantime, I paid for the trailer and for insurance, and not only I wasn't able to use those but also I missed the delivery I was supposed to make.

The truck I had needs suspension work, I have rented a like size truck from Ryder that rode 20x better than this one. Glad it was a short trip.
ROBERT J.My reservation was for 4pm. I arrived about 12 minutes late. The person staffing the rental desk had left at 4 and told no one he had a rental at 4. No one else knew anything about renting a Uhaul there and they all looked at me blankly, for a long time. Eventually someone was walked through the process -- wasting a lot of my time. This has happened before at this location. DO NOT RENT HERE.
KARIN M.I was scheduled to pick up truck at 8AM. No one showed up to help me until 9AM. I had a whole moving crew waiting. (The day before, I went to see if I could pre-register to save time. They said no problem to show up at 8AM as it won't take long. One other thing. I did try to pre-register online. My mistake - I loaded an old version of driver's licence online. In any case (I don't know if your system scans.) In any case, I tried twice and got no acknowledgment whether entry was successful.

Suresh G.Your reservation system is awful. After making a reservation 3 weeks in advance of pick up, I received a confirmation stating the selected equipment, times and locations. I then received a phone call 2 DAYS before the move that this equipment was "not available" at my location. When I questioned this, I was rudely informed that my email confirmation was only confirming my "request", not my contract. I had to drive 115 miles round trip from my location to secure the desired equipment which altered our moving day plans significantly. Making a reservation means NOTHING. How is one supposed to plan when you have no idea if the "requested" equipment will actually be available? Shouldn't it be the responsibility of U-Haul personnel have gotten the available truck to my desired pick up location? No way to run a service industry!!!

Aftab J.I have had two experiences with this location in the process of this move over the past 3 weeks. The first time, I waited a very long time for someone to help me, only to be told that they had already unhooked the trailer and I didn't need to stick around (not sure how long I waited after that was done, but no one told me it had been handled until I asked for the 4th or 5th time. The TruValue store is unorganized, the primary rep for UHaul at the store was wearing her mask around her chin and had a bad attitude. I spent a lot of time there unnecessarily and left frustrated. On the second drop off at this location (March 22), I figured out how to unhook the trailer myself and left it after hours to avoid the frustration of dealing with them.
sheryl G.The young woman Lindsay who waited on us seemed to think she was doing us a favor. In a service profession such as this is it that hard to be nice? Are masks now a thing of the past?
Thomas M.Uhaul's insistence on using a mobile app to verify the return of a rental truck was extremely annoying. It was dark, freezing cold and Uhaul's genius idea was to take their verifying survey in the middle of a blizzard! My phone was dead because there was no way of charging it in the truck and the threat of a $20 added fee just because I couldn't follow some idiotic protocol was unreasonable and very irritating! Will likely consider any competition in the future.

The person who checked me out clearly did not want to be at work/helping customers. Terse and not very friendly bordering on unpleasant.
