UHaul changed the pickup location for the truck I had reserved from Tuscaloosa to a very small town almost 50 miles away. It took over an hour to drive to the new location from Tuscaloosa. This new pickup location was a gas station and had no supplies like dollies or packing blankets to offer. The person who checked me out was very nice and really tried to help me but she had limited resources to offer. Since we were driving into Tuscaloosa from Texas, I knew we would not make it to this new location before they closed for the day. I called UHaul to discuss this with them and to confirm that I could pick up the truck the day after the original reservation date. They indicated I could. To make sure, I also called the actual rental location and confirmed that I would be picking up the truck on Sunday instead of Saturday. It's a good thing I did because UHaul had gone ahead and rented the truck to someone else. The only reason I was able to get the truck was because I arrived before the other person and they gave it to me. This despite having reserved the truck well in advance and having made several calls to confirm the pickup time. The truck's ash tray was filled with cigarettes butts and the windshield washer fluid was bone dry. This whole experience was very frustrating. I can't believe UHaul would not only change my pickup location to a place so far away from the original reservation and also then try to rent the truck out from under me after all I had done to ensure I would be able to pick it up. To top it off, the representative I spoke to on the phone regarding the change of pickup location could not have been more unconcerned or disdainful when I expressed my frustration. There was no apology or any expression of understanding about the inconvenience they were putting me through. I will definitely be looking into renting from a different company next time.

They were unfamiliar with the process. It is difficult for them to handle the rental and check out convenience store customers.
