The owner of the service station did a very fine job - polite and efficient and helpful. But the area where the trucks are kept is muddy and overgown, and I refused to leave my car, believeing it was not safe. I parked on a nearby street that has more car and pedestrian traffic. This is a pretty tough area. The truck's cab was filthy, not with litter but with stains and sticky substances all over the console, and the floor and mats were filled with sand and stains. The box in the rear has a large and slippery oil stain, obviously from a spill.Daniel B.

Truck was half empty when picked up. We had to fill it up, extra cost to us. Back door wide open. We rented the Uhaul from a different place, Bethel Storage unit in Bethel NY. Woman told us that size has to be returned where ever picked up. Just ordered another one at a different place and only going one way. First order the woman cost us $160. more than needed and inconvenience us. Never againJoan H.

The store clerks were indifferent to my needs. They were extremely preoccupied with other Non-U-haul matters, . I was disappointed with the lack of attention and the length of time I had to wait to be taken care of. The location was convenient, though and the truck condition was excellent. This place let someone use my information illegally to rent a U-haul truck. I am VERY upset about this situation and I will make sure to continue reporting this until I find out how and why wasn't the driver's identity verified?! Someone used MY name and MY email. I couldn't understand the person helping me as his accent was very strong. The building a very tight gas station with little room to spare. People were coming in and out and not maintaining social distancing as well. The guy helping me disappeared behind a curtain with my CC and ID. Unsure what he was doing with it and seemed very unprofessional. They were also selling Rhino performance enhancers behind the counter right next to where the guy had me do the paperwork. Gotta get rock hard while moving out my parents. 1/10 Would not return. Monticello is called montighetto for a reason.Daniel C.

Location itself is cramped but OK. Think some staff could be better trained--check-in took a very long time, made worse by the online check-in not working and having to match up the key to the truck serial number. Otherwise, equipment was in really good shape and supplies (blankets) were ready for us.Michael L.
This is partly a problem with corporate. The app said that the pickup location was open until 9 but when I arrived, even though the store was open, there was a sign that said that they only did U-Haul until 6! I was able to convince the owner to rent it anyway.TIMOTHYB M.

This place was discussing the service was terrible . I used the truck for an hour to move a pool table and being that the back was dirty and had dirt and rocks in it scratched my table. Inside the cab was gross there was a dead plant in a pot on the dash and a Jewish bible or something . Very upset with service. The lot the truck was is was flooded and muddy . I had to step in a puddle to get to the truck which made my foot soaked .TABITHA S.

I was told by the uhal company in Middletown that if I returned the uhal before closing the next day I would be charged as a one day rental. The location I picked up from was charging me for 2 days because I was an hour late. Then charged me for not leaving the fuel on full but I have pictures of a full tankGEEVON A.
The only downside is that the clerk was busy with convenience store customers, but the wait was not terrible. Other than that the experience was excellent. Best part was that this was the only place around where I could rent without a smart phone. A++ for that!John G.

When I got home to Long Eddy from Monticello, after picking up food for Blessing Food pantry, in Callicoon, I realized I did not ask for receipt for uhaul which I needed for Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY. I called Mobil express , where I rented uhaul from and when I asked for receipt to be sent to me, I was told "already done". Thank you for the pleasant experience with uhaul.Rosemarie K.

The guy at the counter seemed to know very little about what I (or he) was doing. He vaguely pointed to a lot, but I figured out my process myself. It was more of a mini-mart and he seemed disinterested in the whole deal. I was exhausted after moving and a more friendly, knowledgeable staff member would've been welcome.Jeannie F.
