Additional rental moving equipment was not provided and I was not notified in advance, I assumed they were in the truck. I drove 126 miles to the pick up location, opened the back of the truck and discover that the dolly and moving blankets were not there. I tried to call U-Haul for assistance multiple times, but the wait time was too long to stay on the phone. Very disappointing from my customer perspective.James L.

Two things: 1. Please consider putting steps on the trucks by the doors. I fell out of the truck and injured my shoulder, elbow and hip when I was getting out of it and a step would have prevented this. 2. I put $20 in gas in the truck and it was just shy of 3/4 of a tank, and I was charged an extra $12.75.kristen M.

Do a walkabout and inspect the truck. Make sure the back door to the truck is pulled down door. If they don't do this Customer should be informed that they will receive text to do self inspection. Staff did not wear protective face masks. The truck was not cleaned prior to our pickup. The cup holders still contained wet coffee or soda spill from the previous renter, and was full of hairs. If those were not cleaned, then the truck was not properly wiped down for COVID-19. A box that soaked up the coffee was left on the floor of the passenger seat. It was dirty for pre-COVID standards and I am not pleased we had to spend 15 minutes disinfecting and cleaning up to use it.Chris L.

I was scammed into paying $25 dollar fuel charge despite the odometer saying I drove 21 miles and even put a gallon of gas back in the tank AT THIS LOCATION (it's a gas station). They are saying that they needed to put 5 gallons of gas back into the truck and by that math: - 21 miles driven on the odometer - Put in 1.06 gallons of gas at the location - Let's say the truck gets 7 mpg (which we know isn't true) - This suggests that they put they charged me $25 dollars [for 5 gallons of gas] to account for the additional 13 miles. By that math, the truck gets 2.6 mpg? TOTAL SCAM will be using Home Depot moving forward as at least they are upfront with their pricing - this was meant to be a cheaper optoon.Ryan F.

It was easy once I figured out that all I had to do was just locked the truck put the key in the U-Haul key box and I was fine the video that I watched was a little confusing but this was my first time but overall my experience with U-Haul is very goodcarol S.

Cargo trailer was so old it had a leaky tire, it squeeked with every mile we drove, it didn't feel safe, but we made it.WENDY W.
Most of my issue is with U-haul in general. Firstly I rented a truck for 24hrs doing a one way trip. Then immediately after picking up I called U-Haul because my closing was pushed back and I wasn't going to make the 24hr window. I asked to extend my rental another 24hrs and was on hold for about 30min. After being transferred around on the phone I finally talked to someone who said I was all set. The following day the U-Haul company in Hampton is calling me asking where the truck is because someone else has it reserved for the day I extended into. So me feeling frustrated and rushed I emptied my truck and returned it first thing in the morning on Saturday so the truck would be available. All while fully getting charged by U-Haul and I believe overcharged. Overall I would not use U-Haul again after this experience.William N.
Representative did not immediately have a trailer available. When I told him I needed something right away as I was leaving town that day, he went out of his way to find a trailer for me. Also, there were two gentlemen who were exceptionally helpful when it came time to hook up the trailer. All 3 guys were super!ron K.

Although I picked up the truck with 3/4 tank of gas and required to return it at the same level or above, I filled the tank prior to returning it as a gesture of my appreciation. Great job! The only comment I have, is that I scheduled my pickup of the trailer from a location closer to me. That location did not have the trailer, even though it was reserved and said they had one. The only thing that needs improvement is the customer service department. It takes about an hour get anyone the when I do they are so rude that I just don't want to deal this company anymore. Also, why put that you can get a truck 24/7 then call me up and say that I have to change my pick up time to when the place is open not 24/7. Does not help me at all, and confuses me to why I still use you guys. This is the second time this company has disappointed me and failed to help me there will not be a third time I hope!!!Ethan P.

The experience was OK until it was time to replenish the gas that was used (not used) for the rented pick-up truck. I drove exactly 12 miles and the guy charged me $12 for the gas. Big rip-off in my opiniondonald M.

I was so happy to see they had a pick up truck instead of the regular box truck. It made my projects a lot easier. Just wish more place offered them!!! Also thank you so much for doing the 24/7 pick up and return. I love it it makes it so much easier to plan around my schedule then someone elses I will definitely recommend U-Haul and will definitely use you guys again for more projects especially when I move next year. Vehicle, because of its size, is difficult to drive. When returning the vehicle, traffic was heavy on Layfayette (always is) and the location is right after a busy intersection making it difficult to maneuver to. Maneuvering the vehicle into a free gas pump at the location was difficult. The cleaning charge after the vehicle was returned was a surprise and unwarranted.Geoffrey C.
