No parking available. Had to park three blocks away. Order was not entered correctly. App for return did not work correctly. Had to call to confirm return. Waited 45 on hold to speak with agent. The idea of having to book return in order to avoid paying service fee is a scam. When I rent a vehicle, I can drop keys in a box, and that is it. The vendor takes care of all paperwork. As I said, the convoluted method of returning a rental is a scam to rip-off customers. In addition the small truck was a gas hog. 12 miles to the gallonjoe C.

The back of the truck was covered in cooking oil from previous renter. Had to wash it out prior to use. Almost slipped when i stepped in the back.Brian D.

The box truck was dirty through out. Dog hair in the cab, dirty windows and mirrors affected the visibility especially at night. Moving blankets and dolly were scattered all over the box, I have pictures. I swept, properly folded and stored moving blankets.Luis H.
Returning the trailer was a challenge as no one was there to direct the traffic of returning rentals on the holiday. It would be better to have two people on a weekend. The one gentleman there renting units was top notch.Carrie M.
First off, the place where we picked up the uhaul has no parking available for customers. This meant that my employees had to coordinate being picked up and dropped off from the location. This seems pretty ridiculous for a place that's renting out vehicles. Secondly, the Uhaul was very dirty, we had to sweep it out before we could load anything up. Lastly, I'm now seeing some extra charges on my CC and haven't received any kind of itemized bill or explanation. On every attempt to call this location (prior to picking up the rental and now to verify these charges) the shop hasn't answered their phone or returned my messages.Dan H.

Tried to call several times for 2 days to update pickup time. No one answers the phone. Uhaul changed my pickup location. Very stressful. Plus's the pickup site looked shady and my credit card was compromised 2days later.Ruanne P.

I had a reservation to pickup a 10' truck and an Auto Transport. My reservation had both items clearly listed. No one notified me of anything different. I drove 6-hours to pickup the equipment. The Reservation Pickup Location assigned to me by U Haul didn't have the Auto Transport, just the truck. Therefore, I had to pay for many miles worth of gas and wasted approximately 4-hours of my time because I had to drive the opposite direction from where I needed to pickup my load to get the Auto Transport, then drive all the miles back to go to pickup my load, then drive all the miles back to my final destination. The person supposedly helping me find the Auto Transport wasted my time because she said she would find me one, but took so long getting no results that I called U Haul myself to find one. It turned my driving day into much more expense due to the extra gas I had to buy and wasted many more hours due to all the errors by U Haul not giving me accurate information about my equipment pickup reservations. It was a very frustrating and poorly managed experience by U Haul. Frankly, I believe I should be compensated for the expenses and wasted time that U Haul caused me due to all the errors in managing my reservationâ€¦ overall, a very disappointing experience.Donald M.

The location itself was not the issue. The issue was that I made my reservation nearly a month in advance. I requested Nipomo as my pickup location and a day before I was to pickup my trailer, I got a notice that the closest location with my equipment was 25 miles away (in the wrong direction) so it was actually 50 miles in the wrong way by the time we back tracked. This was completely inconvenient. When I contacted corporate, there was nothing that could be done. The SLO location had probably 12 to 15 trailers, while the rest didn't.Christina B.

I was disappointed to see that I had been charged $50 for fueling, especially since I had added $5 of fuel to go 8 miles and that the gauge was higher upon return than when I left. This situation was handled professionally and efficiently by Sabir ( I believe was his name) which is why I would recommend this location.Denan B.
I have used UHaul for the past 4 years and all has been wonderful until now! I placed an order for a 6x12 trailer, that was a no show and rescheduled to a location 40 minutes away then the next trailer was canceled due to an incorrect t phone number and apparently I had to call back to confirm the appointment so in the end we had no choice but to keep the trailer 40 minutes out of our way. Tough few days until the move. Never sure of what was going to happen next.Gisele G.

Overall, it was a good experience. Friendly workers got me in and out quickly and let me use the vehicle I needed (10' truck versus 15' truck) for 2 hours. But there's no customer parking at this facility. I had to park close to a mile away in a very sketchy neighborhood. So day users beware and plan to have a spouse/friend pick up your car.Stanley R.
Honor the pickup location or, at least, something close by. When I called the scheduler to indicate that my pickup location was identified as Palmdale until less than 48 hours prior, she was unsympathetic and would only offer additional miles which I could care less about. This is a gross misrepresentation of the intent of the reservation. . I will never again rent with U Haul unless they make it right with me for this rental.RANDOLPH L.

Please put the hours for the drop off location on the contract and in the email confirmation. Dropped off at 4:15 and they were closed. Had to detach trailer and leave it. Then figured out that I needed to check out online. Went back and did the online check out. No note about that on their door. Just said after hours drop key in drop box. The woman in the rental office was exceptionally helpful and really made my experience excellent.She needs a raise! It was the first time I had rented a trailer from U-Haul and she gave me lots of information which helped my confidence tremendously! Would definitely rent from that location again.Jill W.
The office was empty when I got there. I hung out for a few minutes before going to look for someone in the mechanic shop that shares the location. I was told that there wasn't room for the trailer, but u-haul had directed me there instead of the location I had requested. I left there not sure if the return was going to be processed correctly(it was). In the end it wasn't terrible, just not as smooth as I felt it could have been.Matthew P.

Staff at location was friendly and helpful. Check engine light went on as so apparently needed maintenance. But for the short trip it ran fine. Truck was clean. I reserved a different size UHaul from a different location and was involuntarily redirected to this location and booked a larger vehicle which was less desirable due to access constraints at my moving locationâ€¦ caused extra heartburn and effort but it all worked out. Overall I was disappointed with the reservation process but the pickup/drop off were good.Tim R.

This location will not answer their phone, or return your voice mails. And after using them twice, I have left several unreturned messages. You have to drive down there to talk to someone, and when you get there the are literately sitting right by the phone. I was charged for 111.1 miles when I only traveled 34.1 miles. The pick up logistics are very unclear and staff are not very helpful. Additionally, the phone check in process shows you directions and a map that makes you believe there is customer parking available and uses arrows to guide you through the process. However, the map is erroneous and even the staff member said the map was wrong and she had never seen such thing. We had to park a few miles out.Alan F.
The headlights on the truck that we rented were either misaligned or the plastic cover is extremely fogged up or dirty, such that the lights barely made a dent. We only needed them for the last half hour of our trip, so it was not a huge problem.Robert F.

The person that hooked up the trailer had trouble getting the lights to work. He ended up telling me that they were working but a little dim. I drove 400 miles to be finally pulled over and told that they didn't work at all. I had my plug on my truck tested and it was fine, the wiring on the trailer was bad.mark M.
